Media :: Where Are All Good Podcast Applications?

Sep 23, 2010

I'm really surprised and disappointed by the lack of podcast apps out there, especially for videos. I don't want to pay for Doggcatcher, but all the free ones are very poor apparently and don't do a good job. I use Google Listen for my audio podcasts, and even tho it isn't great it is does the business. However I can't view any video podcasts with ease or without having to download them first. Does anyone know of any at all? or of any that are in development?

Media :: Transferring Particular Podcast With 200 Episodes?

Oct 10, 2010

I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. I also have iTunes. I am a fan of a particular podcast, and have 200 episodes of this podcast downloaded to a folder on my computer. So far, I have been using Media Go, which classifies these podcasts as songs, and places them in the Music section of Mediascape. However, when I go into "More" in Mediascape, I noticed there is a section for podcasts. Unfortunately, Media Go won't allow me to place these podcasts in the Podcasts section of my library, and thus forbids me from having them in the specialist podcast section. Here is my question:

How do I get all 200 episodes of my particular podcast into the podcast section of my phone? For the sake of instruction, let's assume that file size is no object.

Media :: Podcast Player With Pause Feature?

Jun 25, 2010

I am hunting for a podcast player with the ability to pause audio quickly, without searching for the right pixel to tap. Fast forward and rewind would be nice too. Any recommendations? I posted a similar thread for Developers. I have a web site where I am starting to do reviews of Android Apps (and a couple of hand-held devices). ksguy.com I would LOVE to review a pause app or widget there.

Media :: Any Application To Upload Podcast In Easy Way?

Aug 30, 2010

I been trying to decide what phone I wanted to go with between the Iphone4, Droid x and the Windows 7 phone. After hearing from many people and looking a reviews I think I am going with the droid X, the one thing that is really kinda holding me back is that I listen to a lot of podcast and its so easy to manage listening to them with itunes. It just seems very easy to upload new episodes and auto delete them from my ipod. I am curious is there a program that droid has that operates like itunes? I have looked all over and I cant find a program that droid uses to upload music and podcast in a easy way.

Android :: Recommended Good Applications For Phone?

Jul 8, 2010

So, after three long years with my Samsung Alias, which I bought before it was popular enough to get the fancy Alias brand name, I am upgrading to the Droid X. This is my first Android phone and so I am wondering about what the "essential" Android apps are. What finally sold me on switching to Android was the Endomondo sports tracking app. I was contemplating getting a smartphone and a Garmin Edge bike computer, but when I saw a post about Endomondo, I axed the plans on the Garmin and decided to pull the trigger on the DX. In case this helps people in their advice-giving, I am a cyclist racing in college right now, I have an almost unhealthy interest in everything gadgets/computers/video games (and I suspect I'm not the only forum member like this ), I love sports (hockey, lacrosse, football, basketball, baseball, cycling, wakeboarding, skiing, surfing, etc.), and I love movies and TV (especially Entourage and Californication). So, with all of that in mind, who's got some good apps that I simply must have once I get my shiny new piece of hardware?

Media :: Good Ebook Reader App

Sep 9, 2010

There are so many good readers out there. It seems that none of them have it all. I think Laputa makes reading fun,in my opinion is the best reader on the market.

This app has changed my relationship with my phone. It is amazing, a must have for avid readers.

Download and read thousands of books right on your Android phone. Anywhere. Anytime.

The page animation is unlike any other page animation - the page actually rolls WITH your finger as you push it across the screen; other page flipping readers have a very fake looking flip compared to this ones

Android :: Phone With Good Internet Connectivity And Applications

Sep 25, 2010

I am looking at which HTC phone to buy. I need WiFi to connect to the Internet at home. I also want PUSH email, my understand of PUSH email is that every half n hour or something I can get the software to go out and search for new emails whilst not having to go into the app and click refresh to see new emails, something which I have to do on my N95. I also need a decent SatNAV, now I know that google navigation is out. I don't know how good it is due to the lack of information out on the Internet. Do all HTC phones drain the battery with GPS? Okay so I need SatNAV, then I also need a phone with decent car cradles, I need something that enables me to rotation it portrait and landscape easily.

Do HTC phones come with a car charger in the box? I also use Gmail a lot, now is there any advantages that I will get from getting a HTC phone and utilizing my Gmail account, as well as calendar. Is there a simple way of getting the phone to sync with outlook such as the tasks and notes you make? Are most applications on Android free? Do the phones last a long time? I like the idea of the kickstand in the Droid incredible I think, that phone is very appealing for me. I am just thinking of getting the phone not for phone and text use but for just Internet and applications.

HTC Droid Eris :: Good Media Player

Feb 24, 2010

Would any1 be able to reccomend some good media players for the eris? Ive been playing with the stock MP3 player, and likes the way it intergrates with the lock screen, but I find that it repeats lots of songs while in shuffle mode on playlists ><. I tried a few of the Meridian and Mixzing players, and really don't like the interfaces, and Intergration into the lock screen is a major + for me which neiither of these have. I guess what i'm looking for is something to replace my ipod 30GB (4th Gen?) thats slowly showing its age. That was the most user friendly, functional music player ive ever used.

Android :: Recommend Good Media Player?

Sep 16, 2010

I swear I can't find a decent media player that works on 2.2. I don't care for the stock player that much. I want a player that just monitors one folder on my SD card that I can designate. I tried MixZing, but it does this stupid thing where it monitors what I play and tries to play similar stuff from my library. I skip a song and I end up seeing the same song I heard 3 songs ago. It's frustrating. I don't want that feature. Any suggestions on what media play will work best for me? I had bTunes, but it's buggy on 2.2 and it would seem that the developer has no plans to update the app any time soon.

HTC Incredible :: Compatible Good Media Sync Program

I'm sure this subject has been beat to death, but I was bored earlier this evening and decided to do some experimentation. I was interested in finding a good program with which to sync play lists, music, pictures, movies, etc. As it turns out, Media GO works really well. I have been using it as my default music player for some time now because of the "Sense Me" play list option. I'm still pretty new here and I hadn't seen anything posted regarding this program and it's INC compatibility.

HTC Hero :: Good Apps For Controlling Windows 7 Media Center?

1 - Any good apps for controlling Windows 7 media center? Something like VLCmote, that one works well.

2 - Any way to delete "remembered" words? For example, when I text people and I type "You?" it always defaults to "Yiy?" instead. It's really annoying!

3 - Is Better Keyboard any good? I love the default qwerty keyboard, but I have a few minor problems with it. The spacebar isn't big enough, I often accidentally hit the period button, for example. Just basically want one that's the same as the default but with a larger spacebar.

Media :: Why Do All Music Player Applications Show Tracks In Wrong Order?

Jul 22, 2010

I have tried the default music player that is installed with the Droid-X. I've also bought the bTunes player and installed the MixZing player (free version). What is wrong that, by default, all list the tracks of an album in alphabetical order? At least bTunes will let you optionally sort by original track order (although the way given by bTunes is counter-intuitive and you have to start playing a track before you can sort).

By default, all albums should display in original track order. I suppose that for those who have difficulty reading, perhaps an option to list tracks in alphabetical order might be in order for ADA compliance or something. Otherwise, when I browse one of my albums, I want to see it in the order that the original artist intended.
