Media :: Where Are All Good Podcast Applications?
Sep 23, 2010I'm really surprised and disappointed by the lack of podcast apps out there, especially for videos. I don't want to pay for Doggcatcher, but all the free ones are very poor apparently and don't do a good job. I use Google Listen for my audio podcasts, and even tho it isn't great it is does the business. However I can't view any video podcasts with ease or without having to download them first. Does anyone know of any at all? or of any that are in development?

Feb 24, 2010Would any1 be able to reccomend some good media players for the eris? Ive been playing with the stock MP3 player, and likes the way it intergrates with the lock screen, but I find that it repeats lots of songs while in shuffle mode on playlists ><. I tried a few of the Meridian and Mixzing players, and really don't like the interfaces, and Intergration into the lock screen is a major + for me which neiither of these have. I guess what i'm looking for is something to replace my ipod 30GB (4th Gen?) thats slowly showing its age. That was the most user friendly, functional music player ive ever used.

Sep 16, 2010I swear I can't find a decent media player that works on 2.2. I don't care for the stock player that much. I want a player that just monitors one folder on my SD card that I can designate. I tried MixZing, but it does this stupid thing where it monitors what I play and tries to play similar stuff from my library. I skip a song and I end up seeing the same song I heard 3 songs ago. It's frustrating. I don't want that feature. Any suggestions on what media play will work best for me? I had bTunes, but it's buggy on 2.2 and it would seem that the developer has no plans to update the app any time soon.

Aug 26, 2010I'm sure this subject has been beat to death, but I was bored earlier this evening and decided to do some experimentation. I was interested in finding a good program with which to sync play lists, music, pictures, movies, etc. As it turns out, Media GO works really well. I have been using it as my default music player for some time now because of the "Sense Me" play list option. I'm still pretty new here and I hadn't seen anything posted regarding this program and it's INC compatibility.

2 - Any way to delete "remembered" words? For example, when I text people and I type "You?" it always defaults to "Yiy?" instead. It's really annoying!
3 - Is Better Keyboard any good? I love the default qwerty keyboard, but I have a few minor problems with it. The spacebar isn't big enough, I often accidentally hit the period button, for example. Just basically want one that's the same as the default but with a larger spacebar.

Apr 3, 2010I defected to the HTC Desire from the iPhone. I'm really loving my new phone, but am worried I might have a very long wait for my favourite apps to appear on the Market. Can anyone tell me if there is a decent London journey planner app out there, something similar to Tube Deluxe on the iPhone?
I'd also like to be able to adjust the font size globally on my phone, and find it really odd that this function is not, seemingly, part of the Android OS. Is there an app for that?

HTC Desire :: A Decent Calender And Planner App?
May 28, 2010I'm desperately after a decent planner/Calender App for the Desire. One that ISN'T linked to Google Calendar.
Ideally I'm looking for one where the planner has colour coded bars for events like a traditional wall planner. These would be linked to the calendar itself.
I've tried most of the calendar apps out there, but I've not found one that's suitable. Also if I search for planner, I get all different kinds of planners, just not a basic universal one.
HTC Droid Eris :: Planner/To Do List APP?
Feb 13, 2010I have used the search button on the forums and went through numerous topics only to find topics about astrid and other apps that syncs with google and what not, i even tried googling for a good planner app for the eris but have not yet found one.
So i am looking for a student planner or any kind of planner app that i can write things i have to do. Such as "work on essay", "volunteer at 4", "golf", " go to orientation", "work out this day" etc. I dont need anything to sync with anything i just want something simple to use where i can delete and re add things i need to do.

If I go to Settings>App Manager>S Planner, stop the app and clear the data (and cookies), it's still in the app. Even if I restart the device (heck, I even took the battery out overnight) - I can still see all my appointments
Unfortunately I have about 5000 entries in my calendar so manual deletion is not an option

Here's what I'd like:
a calendar with daily, weekly, monthly view
To do lists (which can be synched with the calendar and crossed off the list if completed on a scheduled day)
Reminders, alarms, deadlines
Ability to work offline (in case I'm in an area w/o service)
Ability to setup recurring appts
Lists (e.g. grocery, books to read, people who owe me $, etc.) - where I can see ALL the lists in a nice lay out and be able to prioritize within lists
All of the above should have a widget so I can see my calendar/lists from my homescreen
Ability to add comments to any of the above
Does anyone know an app that does all these things? I've tried: TooDo, Astrid, Jorte, etc. Jorte seems to come the closest so far...
Android :: Route Planner Apps For 1.6 Or Lower?
Jun 30, 2010I am thinking about getting a tablet instead of a netbook (Eken M001 has 1.6) which i need for mostly working out my routes in the morning since I work for a delivery company. Right now I have to come home to use autoroute on my PC but this takes me an hour to get home and back again taking an hour out of my journey so a tablet would be a perfect alternative. I live in the UK so need an autorouter for me that works offline. Does any such app exist or should I get a netbook?
Basically I just need to enter a bunch of postcodes and it tell me the quickest order in which to goto them to save time in my day but going home to get them is kinda against the whole point of saving time.

Dec 5, 2013Due to the recent problems with no Sync feature in Kies3, I've had to temporarily resort to using other Apps to sync my S Planner calendar with Microsoft Outlook. Today Samsung have returned Sync to Kies3, which is great, however...
During my use of one particularly rubbish app (that shall remain unnamed), I now have duplicate entries in S Planner for every single event. Is it possible to completely clear the S Planner calendar so that I can re-sync fresh from my PC using Kies3? I've tried deleting the calendar but it won't let me delete My Calendar.
General :: Note 3 - Cannot Disable S Planner Notifications
Apr 18, 2014Am using a UK Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Kitkat and the latest versions of all system and 3rd party apps.
I have Samsung's S Planner notifications switched OFF.
However, if I create an event with notifications using either Google Calendar and/or my preferred calendar, Business Calendar Pro, S Planner notifications still pop up/sound. IE, I get multiple notifications for the same event - very annoying!
Even if I FORCE STOP S Planner, it re-enables itself after phone sleep or reset and the notifications switch back on!
NOTE: The 'Show Notifications' checkbox in the 'App Info' dialog is ON but greyed out, so cannot be switched OFF.
Is this Samsung trying to force their apps on us or is it a bug?
Android :: Best Personal Calendar / Planner / Organizer For Phone?
Jun 20, 2010I have a new HTC Incredible on order.
One of the big reasons that I am switching phones was because my Windows Mobile calendar messed up the times (shifted things an hour off) and totally messed up my entire calendar. I cannot afford to have any calendar issues, so I need a ROCK SOLID calendar that is stable, syncs well, integrates well, allows for recurring inputs, and has nice month, week, and daily views.
Most threads about calendar apps were started several months ago, so I was wondering what the latest developments and updates to these apps and widgets might have done to your evaluation of them. Personally, I would love to get in on the public beta of PI when it is finally announced. I have used Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion on my Windows Mobile devices before. I have never used CalenGoo, but something like that would be wonderful, too.

Jul 13, 2010I cook a full meal for my family every night. And I do all the shopping. So this brings me to the desire for an...app for that. What I'm looking for is an app where I can scan the groceries as they come into the house, and it makes up a weekly menu for me from that. Hmm, not sure where the recipes would come from. Anyway, anyone have any ideas? Now that I've written it out, it seems like a tall order!

Aug 17, 2013Recent switcher to Android and owner of brand new Galaxy S4 here. I have two separate Gmail accounts, one for work and one for home. Each has its own Google Calendar. Both accounts are linked to my phone.
However, I want separate apps on my GS4 to handle each Google calendar. My phone came with S Planner and I have added Google Calendar App (GCA) from the Play store.
On S Planner I choose to display the home account calendar - no problems so far. I then switch to GCA and choose to display the work account calendar. Great. However, and this is my problem, these apps now seem to be 'linked', such that when I then go back into S Planner from GCA it is now displaying the work account calendar instead of the home calendar.
In other words, changes in one app seem to be mirrored in the other app. Is there any way around this, so that each app only displays one account calendar?
Android :: Media Player On HTC Hero Misbehaving And Intercepting Bluetooth Media Buttons
Jan 10, 2010Even registering the broadcast receiver at the highest priority still fails to receive the Bluetooth media button events on the HTC Hero phone. The Bluetooth media button registration code works fine on the other Android phones that I have tested. Apparently this isn't the first time HTC has done something like this, as I also found a report of a similar problem on one of the HTC Microsoft Mobile Devices reported here
It seems extremely short sighted of HTC to code their media player so that it grabs the Bluetooth AVRCP media button events in such a way that other applications are unable to work with the Bluetooth head phone buttons and Bluetooth in car stereo systems.................
Media :: Custom Ringtones From Rooted Media Folder To Show Up In Selection Menus?
Nov 12, 2010How do I get my custom ringtones from rooted media folder to show up in selection menus?
I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc
