I know there are a lot of old threads but the seem to mostly be about syncing to the clouds, I have 32gb on my EVO LTE and I'm out of space. Iv beef using the cable and drag and dropping but its a pain. I would rather do over the air but I don't mind using the cable if I have to, I don't even care if its automatic. Also I have an old WD my book world edition if there is anyway to use that ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know where to find a media player that would allow you to play streaming videos on Android Browser?
I want to know if you can play streaming videos on your web browser on your android os phone.
I want to be able to use/view the video's I record with my phone on my computer. (open from an email or use in window's movie maker)I have a new computer with Windows seven at work and a Vista laptop at home. I can send the video to myself and try to open in from my email or tether to the computer and transfer the file manually. Either way I can't open with windows media player. Video's taken with default "Camcorder" app on a myTough 3G running Android 1.6.I know it has something to do with the codec's the phone uses but wonder why they wouldn't use codec's that are compatible with the most commonly used pc's?Is there any way around this? Some kind of converter for the computer or for the phone? Is there another camcorder app that can record video with a different codec or is it phone hardware specific? So far have been able to use these forum's to sort out most of my Android problems but I'm stumped on this one. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard to do. Should be more user friendly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Media Player to manage all my mp3s and playlists. I want my Samsung Galaxy S to be synchronized with my PC. I can connect my Galaxy S using "Media Player" mode and use the built-in sync with WMP, but there are issues:
1) Some mp3s get "corrupted" - how do I force WMP to "re-sync" them without losing my playlist association (if I manually add it as a file to sync, it is no longer associated with the playlist)
2) If I delete an mp3 from the device, WMP doesn't realize and won't re-sync the file again... is there a way to re-sync?
3) Sometimes WMP will re-sync playlists and each song shows up 3-4+ times when I load up a playlist on my device. I then have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch any way around this?
4) Where are android playlists stored? The Playlists folder on the sd card can be wiped, but the playlists still show up in the music player?
5) If I make a change to a playlist on my PC, WMP will freeze and start skipping random files the playlists get corrupt and I see problem #3 occur. Essentially, if I change a playlist, I have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch.
Is anyone using the Motorola Media Manager (or Media Link) to sync their itunes with the X? I downloaded the software but it keeps crashing. I've seen a few people refer to it but haven't seen much about it working or being used. I did find an app called iSyncr for PC that seems to have some good comments though.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow To: Properly Sync Music To Android With MediaMonkey | RickyCadden.com from the site: Mount your phone in USB Mode to your computer, and note the drive letter that it is associated Open this drive in Windows Explorer and create the appropriate folders where you want your music stored. I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

had my g1 since it came out.Im trying to convert video files for it but everytime I do, the video player says it cannot play format it plays perfectly except it has no 'RW, PAUSE/PLAY, FF' options when I touch the screen. It keeps saying 'CANNOT PLAY VIDEO: Sorry, this video cannot be played. But it is playing the video just no options.I used SUPER C and followed all the instructions, converted like 7 different avi movies all the same.I used "MediaCoder' because you get to tweak the contrast, brightness and etc making video's picture perfect same thing though.I want to be able to watch videos on the G1.The YouTUBE apps is horendous and a joke compared to the iphone youtube app.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC Desire for a couple of months now and it's truly a great phone! Today my 32Gb micro SD card arrived for it and I set about moving my media onto it. I wanted to see if I could watch movies on my phone so I set about converting one from a full HD .mkv file to an .mp4 using handbrake. I read up on what the best parameters are and stuck to them religiously.I can play other videos on it no problem but when it comes to my own it just says that it can't play them, I've tried Meridian (which seems unstable as hell btw) but that doesn't help. My file is a couple of gigs in size when the encoding is done but I'm not short on space so that's not such an issue. I don't know why the phone is being so picky, can anyone please suggest what I might be doing wrong?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of MP4 videos that used to play on my HTC Desire before it got its Froyo uodate, that dont appear to be now. When I click on it to play, it comes up Cannot Play Video - Sorry, this video cannot be played. When I look at the details it has Type : Video/mp4 Am I doing something stupidly wrong? Also is there an easy piece of software that can copy DVDs into a format my Desire will understand. I'm after an ease of use rather than cheap bit of software.

I know you hook up the mini usb cable to the Mytouch and then you can unmount the SD card so that you can view it on your computer but when I would put a video file, lets say .avi file. The video wouldn't play right, are we required to convert the video files to another format?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create .mp4 video clips that when you click on the link in a browser (I have an Evo 4G) the clip will buffer and stream in the HTC Streaming Media Player. So far I only get this error message when the streaming media player launches: "Warning - Video is not for streaming play. Would you like to download the file." All my clips play great when downloaded to the SD card and they all stream flawlessly on the iPhone. Not sure if this problem is HTC specific or all Android phones. Has anyone created .mp4 clips that can be streamed from a website? What software and settings are you using? I'm using Handbrake which obviously isn't working.

When I connect the phone I can see various folders including MP3, however there isnt one for either videos (or photos for that matter). Do I just create one purely for videos and then it will play once it is dropped in there or is there something I am missing? Similalry if I want to copy photos do I just create a specific folder for photos and the phone will just "pick them up" when I go into the photos icon?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have HTC Desire with Android 2.1 and Windows 7 Premium 32bit. I have created some 3GP videos on the HTC and can play these successfully. When I transfer the file to Windows 7 the playback via Windows Media play doesn't have any sound. Same files playback with volume via iTunes. I'd really like to use these files with Windows Media Player. Is this some sort of codec issue? Why are such task seemingly simple tasks made so difficult?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI really want to know why I can not hear any sound whatsoever simply because the video uses 5.1ch aac instead of 2ch aac. The video part of mp4 plays perfectly, encoded to h.264. I would really like to know if there is any media player able to play these videos correctly without having to resort to any kind of re-encoding (a waste of time when the original encodes should play fine) or having to use special 5.1ch headphones (bulky and not practical to keep on hand all the time). Also, does anyone know if this might be corrected with Froyo 2.2? And last, all my videos that have 2ch audio play as they should, sound and all. Same codec settings were used.
