Jun 17, 2010Does anyone have problems with your face hanging up the phone during calls? I often need to hold the phone on my shoulder and cheek while chasing three kids and the phone inevitably hang up.
Is anyone having this issue? Is there an app that will keep this from happening?

Feb 10, 2010My CLIQ keeps hanging up on me when I use the headset. I use the lock button (off) to lock the screen and put it in my pocket. When I move around it hangs up. Is there another way to lock the phone or an app I can use? Any ideas on a solution?

1. 1GB ext3 32mb swap
2. 512Ext3 32mb swap
3. 512Ext3 no swap
every time i flash a cooked ROM with apps2sd the phone hangs..for example after flashing the Rom i go to the clock to set my alarm the phone just hangs cant do anything need to pull out the battery and put it back in the phone and re start the phone.this happens for any application i try to open after flashing the cooked rom.i have no problem flashing the cooked rom with my existing 4GB.i also have no problem using the 8GB with stock rom or Nand backup.can any one kindly give me a solution to use the 8GB with a cooked ROM which has apps 2sd
KitKat 4.4 :: Phone Auto-dialing New Call After Hanging Up With Another Caller?
Mar 16, 2014noticed something weird with KitKat, and confirmed this on two different phones (Nexus 5 and Moto G but running latest KitKat 4.4.2). On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else.
My wife reported the problem first with her Moto G. At first I thought she might just be accidentally hitting a button after calling someone (this is her first smart phone and first touch screen phone) but it's happened several times for her. Final catch was today when I clearly had it happen to me (it also appears it may have happened before once or twice on my phone). I had called someone using my bluetooth in my car, at the end of the call I pushed the hangup button on the steering wheel, and the call ended. Then my wife picked up the phone to call another person and we both noticed it was calling some other friend of ours (that I had txt'd with maybe 2 hours before). It had just started calling this person for no reason. We quickly ended the call (hopefully it didn't bug them), but wow is that annoying.
It seems to happen every once in a while right after hanging up with another call. It seems to call someone in either your recent call or txt history. I'm not sure what might trigger it as it doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what number it chooses to call (though it does appear to be someone you recently called or txt'd).
HTC Desire :: Charging Battery Frequently Spoil The Battery Or Phone?
Sep 22, 2010HTC desire users. I often charge my phone rather frequently like once it twice a day. Sometimes I charge even when the battery is only half full as I am going out. Will this spoil the battery or phone? (If I charge when the battery have not been all used up).I heard from people that it might spoil the phone if I charge in this manner frequently.

Jun 8, 2010I'm looking for an app that I can configure with a list of words which I can later select via press and hold and be able to select which word I want to paste/type. I was hoping one of the add-on keyboard or clipboard apps would provide this feature but I haven't had any luck finding anything. I have a big email address and password and would love to keep them in a permanent clipboard of some sort. The clipboard apps I've tried kind of fit the bill but switching to that app for the purposes of making a selection disrupted the flow of things. Press and hold would be best. Can anyone suggest an app that would accomplish this? I've been also looking for a way to remove the stupid arrow keys at the bottom of my HTC Evo's keyboard. I tried better keyboard from the market but I'm having issues getting used to those keys. The letters seem smaller or something.

Feb 10, 2010Though I've migrated happily from a verizon Palm 700WX (WM) to a Droid, there is a composition feature I miss called 'my text', which gave you ten registers where you could store frequently used phrases 'On my way', '@giantstupidURL.com', '[large foreign phone #]', etc. When composing a message any of these phrases could be inserted with just a few keystrokes.
I have not been able to discover anything similar on the Droid. Did I miss it, or are there apps for email / text that have this and other enhancements?
Android :: Frequently Used Text Contact Missing From Handcent
Nov 7, 2010I've been using handcent for almost a year now. 2 weeks ago, right at it, one of my most frequently used contacts for texting disappeared from handcent. The text comes through on board messenger but wont cross over to handcent. Out of 90 or so contacts this is the only contact with that issue. The contact is an AT&T contact, all other AT&T contacts work fine. I've removed the contact, reset the phone with battery removed, made new contact and still the same. It's almost like the number/name is cursed. This "cursed contact" comes through handcent on my wife's phone just fine.

I want to update the widget every minute or so, from when the user initiates the tracking to when the bus has departed (i.e. the time runs out). This widget needs to be updated more frequently than what updatePeriodMillis allows, which is every 30 seconds. I reckon about once a minute. Being new to Android programming, I can think of a few ways to do this, but I would probably end up doing it in a way that consumes way too much battery etc, so I'm looking for some insights from more experienced Android developers. How do I start the timer? How can I access the widget instance from my applications run-time? And so on.

Sep 27, 2010I'm the proud owner of a month old Droid 2, but the damn thing keeps freezing or locks up completely when I play my music on it - sometimes it even restarts on its own. It doesn't matter if I'm playing my own MP3's or Pandora. While at work this happens maybe 3 to 5 times a day (docked to a desk/home charger from Verizon) and it's really frustrating. I noticed this started happening once my phone updated to 2.2.20 a few weeks ago. Just this past weekend I took it to my local Verizon dealer. They said they updated the PRL and this often corrects the problem. I got the phone home and it locked up immediately. I've restarted repeatedly, removed the SD card and battery but still no change. Any suggestions? This will be my fourth replacement if I need to take it back and have it replaced.

Many apps seem to run in the background even though I didn't start them and when I exit them the right way with the back button they're still running. What to do? I like the phone but it doesn't seem very stable so far.

Jun 23, 2010I've been modifying/editing parts of the Android platform, but have run into a problem when trying to test my edits. After making my changes to the platform source, I was able to successfully compile the source - thus creating system.img, ramdisk.img, and userdata.img. When I go to test this in the emulator, the emulator just hangs on the "ANDROID_" screen, with the underscore blinking, but never seems to load. Any suggestions? The command I used to run the emulator is as follows:
./emulator -system $HOME/android/platform/out/target/product/generic/system.img -ramdisk $HOME/android/platform/out/target/product/generic/ramdisk.img -data $HOME/android/platform/out/target/product/generic/userdata.img
