I created an android application and uploaded in my website. Is it possible to check from the web whether this application is installed in the device when someone is trying to download the application? If it is installed, the user should get a prompt whether to reinstall or not.If not the application should not be downloaded.

I have a BLU Quattro 4.5 android device and when I try to connect via USB Debug mode and run ADB Device it will not find my phone. I have searched high and low in order to locate the driver with no luck. The generic USB driver from google won't even work. I have even run emulator from the phone and when I type: pm set-install-location 2, it comes back with Killed and then back to command prompt. When I type: pm get-install-location it comes back as 0[auto]. My phones main memory is 1 gb and 1.5 internal usb memory. With all of the main system apps updated on the main drive, the phone cannot handle ANY other apps, even when I put apps on the usb memory it is very sluggish. I am trying to install and run all of the apps from the external sd card and just have the system apps running on the main disk. I would also like finding the driver needed to access the phone in ADB.
BLU Quattro 4.5"
4 GB Internal Memory( Broken up to 1 GB Main, 1.5 GB USB Storage, and not sure where the other .5 GB went.)
1 GB Ram
NVIDIA Tegra 1.5 GHZ Quad Core
16 GB Class 10 Micro SD Card
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Unlocked Running Straight Talk/T-Mobile Sim

I have a new Captivate and am attempting to establish a USB connection with Windows XP sp2.
I have downloaded setup two different USB drivers, (1) from Samsung--I assume it's the official driver, and (2) from the Android SDK. Both installations ran without error. But when I attempt to install either driver, Windows complains that it cannot locate the driver. I'm at a loss.
Windows is finds the Captivate when connected but only intermittently. Sometimes it identifies it and sometimes it doesn't.

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out why HTC Sync would not allow me to use the Mobile Network Sharing (MNS). All morning, I had assumed that my notebook was using the MNS as I was able to access Facebook from the office. Turns out that I was latched onto a secondary WiFi access point without realizing it. So, after installing HTC Sync, all other drivers installed fine, except for the NDIS driver which is needed in order to use MNS. I searched high and low to find a download for the driver, and finally found it.
For those of you who are missing the driver (not sure? Open Device Manager, and see if you have an Android Phone device that is showing up as an error), go to your Program Files folder, look for the HTC folder, and in it, you will find HTC Drivers... that elusive NDIS driver is stored there. Just go to Device Manager, find the Android Phone device, right click, select Update Driver, and get it to find the driver from the folder above. Once the driver is installed, getting online is easy

I know ADB was working before I updated to 2.1 root. Looking at the USB devices the current driver isn't compatible with the phone now. Is there a change I need to make to get the USB driver to work? Yes I have USB debugging on.

I ran into the first problem with my Droid- and I am sure it is not the Droid itself. I am running Vista32- I have Motorola Media Link installed. When I plug my Droid into the PC, I get a mass storage device that installs OK most of the time, and an "unknown device".. Even when I mount the SD from the phone, I still see no Drive in my computer The unknown device never installs. I have tried almost every suggestion i have seen.. reboot pc..reinstall MML, reboot phone.. no luck

I'm trying to modify the Android device driver for calibre (an e-book management program) so that it identifies devices by only vendor id and product id, and excludes BCD.
The driver is a fairly simply python plugin, and is currently set up to use all three numbers, but apparently, when Android devices use custom Android builds (ie CyanogenMod for the Nexus One), it changes the BCD so calibre stops recognizing it.
The current code looks like this, with a simple list of vendor id's, that then have allowed product id's and BCD's with them:
CODE:..........
The line I'm specifically trying to change is:
CODE:............
Which is, the line for identifying a Nexus One. My N1, running CyanogenMod 5.0.5, has the BCD 0x226, and rather than just adding it to the list, I'd prefer to eliminate the BCD from the recognition process, so that any device with vendor id 0x18d1 and product id 0x4e11 or 0x4e12 would be recognized. The custom Android rom doesn't change enough for the specifics to matter.
The syntax seems to require the BCD in brackets.
How can I edit this so that it matches anything in that field?

Just downloaded my first app---vim touch; the whole reason for getting a Nexus 10---but I have no idea where it is. It's nor on the all apps screen. Nor is it in downloads.

I have been trying different ROMs for months now via ROM manager. Anyway, I downloaded a ROM to my SD card (I always pick the "download folder") and then go into ROM manager and choose "install from sd card" but I can never see the ROM. For example, last night I DL the red theme for the redemptive ROM. I did not get any error messages. It look to transfer just fine. But I can find the blasted thing! I've tried looking via TB but still nothing. I've also tried via recovery but that did not work either. I have a feeling I am overlooking something stupid and as I said...will feel quite dumb but oh well.

I installed quickflasher Quickflasher from broodplank (i9001_Quick_Flasher_v1.4.rar) and used this image:
recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip.
I Wiped data/factory reset and did Wipe Cache partition. However I did not have the option Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache in CWN recovery. I was able to succesfully install CyanogenMod 9 ALPHA (Build 4) with
update-cm-9-20120606-SNAPSHOT-ariesve-alpha4-signed.zip.
Then I successfully installed gapps package gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip with MD5SUM:
7c524e1e078164f681e0aa6753180b2c.
However after reboot I expected to see Google Play on the home screen or between the installed applications.

I've searched to no prevail. id like to start developing apps but am having issues getting the environment set up. I have the jdk properly installed.
issue 1 (main major ):
I've installed the android sdk from multiple sources, but when i try to start sdk tools, the command prompt flashes/ opens briefly and i get this message:
"Failed to execute toolsandroid.bat: The system cannot find the file specified."
Do i need to change a PATH variable or something...
I cannot get eclipse to run. when i try to open the exe file ( because there is no short cut icon...?) it gives a message about not finding a companion library... ive try to change the properties in the file that is supposed to fix it, but it was already set the way its supposed to be. this is not major as i can use a different IDE.
so im completely lost as to th sdk tool. I just tried adding the file path to the android sdk ( PATH variable) and it still did not work... I also just tried start the android, bat file and the cmd promt flashes briefly saying somthing about xcopy is not an operable command...etc couldn't read all of it... I am on windows 7 home premium

In case anyone else is having problems getting their Incredible to connect, the easiest way I found to install the USB drivers are with the HTC sync program here:
http://member.america.htc.com/download/Driver/DROID_INCREDIBLE_Verizon/HTC_Sync_2.0.33.exe
The google SDK driver doesn't yet work with the Incredible, and though it can be hacked - this download might be easier for some.
