View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed quickflasher Quickflasher from broodplank (i9001_Quick_Flasher_v1.4.rar) and used this image:
recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip.
I Wiped data/factory reset and did Wipe Cache partition. However I did not have the option Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache in CWN recovery. I was able to succesfully install CyanogenMod 9 ALPHA (Build 4) with
update-cm-9-20120606-SNAPSHOT-ariesve-alpha4-signed.zip.
Then I successfully installed gapps package gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip with MD5SUM:
7c524e1e078164f681e0aa6753180b2c.
However after reboot I expected to see Google Play on the home screen or between the installed applications.
I'm not able to find NESoid or SNESoid in the market... Just upgraded to a Galaxy Nexus and i'd love to port my old rom's over to it. Any suggestions for other emulators?

I just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?

View 5 Replies View RelatedNew to Nexus 10 and android, but not to tablets.
Just downloaded my first app---vim touch; the whole reason for getting a Nexus 10---but I have no idea where it is. It's nor on the all apps screen. Nor is it in downloads.
I've searched to no prevail. id like to start developing apps but am having issues getting the environment set up. I have the jdk properly installed.
issue 1 (main major ):
I've installed the android sdk from multiple sources, but when i try to start sdk tools, the command prompt flashes/ opens briefly and i get this message:
"Failed to execute toolsandroid.bat: The system cannot find the file specified."
Do i need to change a PATH variable or something...
I cannot get eclipse to run. when i try to open the exe file ( because there is no short cut icon...?) it gives a message about not finding a companion library... ive try to change the properties in the file that is supposed to fix it, but it was already set the way its supposed to be. this is not major as i can use a different IDE.
so im completely lost as to th sdk tool. I just tried adding the file path to the android sdk ( PATH variable) and it still did not work... I also just tried start the android, bat file and the cmd promt flashes briefly saying somthing about xcopy is not an operable command...etc couldn't read all of it... I am on windows 7 home premium
Is there any way I can extract the .apk for an app I downloaded and installed from the market? So I can store the .apk on my PC
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've installed some apps (weather channel, Astrid tasks and others) for which I'm sure there's a widget, but for some reason, from homescreen/menu/add/widget, they do not appear. In fact, I'm stuck with the initial list of widgets available and can't see anything new there. (I'm still on GB, not ICS)

Do Apps installed using ADB get updated from the play store? if not is there a way to enable the Auto updates through ADB?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes I install an app, then decide I don't want it installed at the time but still would like to keep track of it. So ideally I would like to add it to the wish list after I have had it uninstalled.
This seems not possible, the playstore won't let you add an app to your wish list after it has already been installed.
When I install an app via apk file (because let's say the app is not yet available in Play but the apk was leaked), will I be able to get updates through Play once it has arrived there? Or will I have to reinstall the app from the Play Store and loose all app-related data (for example game states...)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mobile is not updating the android market/playstore when i have any custom rom installed. I badly want a custom rom WITH a working playstore. GT-S5360
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my ROM, and as soon as done, started having lots of problems installing apps:
* the play store on my computer would report applications not available for my device, even though I had downloaded and installed them before
* the search in the phone play store application could not find those apps, and when given a direct link would show them as incompatible
* modded version of vending.apk failed to download with the following error: "app name" could not be downloaded due to an error. (942)
* trying to install the backed up apk manually gave me the error "Application not installed"
* restoring titanium backup failed and left the restore process hanging
* manually copying the apk to /system/app/ and fixing the permissions still did not show the app
I tried many things, different roms, different ril, different mods of Vending.apk and GoogleServicesFramework.apk, clearing data and cache, deleting files in .android_secure, etc, nothing worked. Searching the forum brought up many posts about other people with the same problem, but no working solution.
Finally, I found the solution: I was using the wrong gapps package! The one I had flashed was for 2.3.2, my previous rom, whereas the new one was based on 2.3.7. It did not occur to me, that there could be enough changes to break market functionality, since I was sticking to gingerbread.
If you have the same problem, head to [URL] ..... and pay close attention to the table matching the right google apps package to your android version. Download it, and flash through recovery.
When I load a new ROM and need to reinstall my apps there are usually a couple I don't want to install. Is there anyway to remove them from the "Not Installed" under "My Apps"? It seems like since I once downloaded and installed an app, it will always be there.
If I can't remove them, then I can't use the bulk install option and have to manually start all the installs.
I am working on an application that needs to find GPS location of the user. While testing my code on Droid i am unable to find the GPS location. While googling i found this link to an issue raised with Google.
But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....
I like having big icons on my phone but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.
My phone is unrooted and I'm using a Xperia Pro.
I am unable to flash back my GT-9100 firmware back to its original state as i flash a modified PDA, Phone and CSC files into it.
The problem that i faced is i am unable to select which files for which section of Odin after downloading the ROM from Infratech's post.

Basically i do not know why the files came out this way.
Anyway the files that i having now is GT-I9100_XME_I9100DXKH2_I9100DXKH1_I9100OLCKH1
I have a Nexus 7 & a HTC Desire...I have cleared cache, cleared data and force stopped Google Play Store on both devices....an APP called Easy Money doesnt show up at all on either device....but on Google Play Store website it constantly shows as installed and I can't delete it from the list at all...I think it is causing problems stopping my devices from showing all my APPS in play store..I have tried installing and uninstalling it on both devices also but still no joy getting rid of it from the Play website.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a Note 2, and was able to install apks perfectly fine until this afternoon, now i'm unable to click "install" , it isn't greyed out or anything. I know screen filter and similar apps have a bug which doesn't allow you to click install, so I disabled and uninstalled them just to be sure.
I'm on stock 4.1.2, no software updates of any sort in the last month, weird it suddenly stopped allowing me to install apks
Able to install apps from the play store otherwise.
Edit- Also rebooted several times, and tried installing apks i've installed before, no dice And I do have unknown sources checked.
I don't think this is an issue specific to my phone model. When I go into the Android Market (or Play Store) and I look at my apps it previously showed purchased apps but now it shows all the apps I've ever installed. If I want to install an app I purchased previously I have to search through all the hundreds of apps I have ever installed!
I've tried to find a resolution via Google but I keep getting results showing how to clear market search history.
Like I said, previously before I upgraded to ICS the market only showed installed apps and purchased apps that I haven't installed, now it shows every app I have ever installed and it seems to include apps I installed on my android tablet!
