My Ally was rooted. I saw that a new update was available, so I unrooted the phone for it. It restarts and then the screen gets an exclamation point with a little Android. I take the battery out to restart it, and it goes back to normal without the update.

I keep getting the email envelope with a exclamation point in my notify bar on the top of the phone. When I open it it says unable to send email even though I never sent one. It says check or verify account. I tried and it dosen't work. I was getting my mail fine and still am but I get that notification different times during the day. Is there a setting I need to adjust. I am using AOL has my default mail and have had no problem except for the notification I described.
View 2 Replies View Related i unrooted my DHD then attempted to reroot it using "Advanced Ace Hack Kit", it was going well untill it go to the 2nd reboot where it freezes at the htc logo.
i can get into the boot loader but when trying to go to recovery i get the exclamation point.
It comes up when sending text messages. Not in the messaging widget, but when you actually go into your text messages, and I think its some, not all. After the message is sent, on the right side of the screen/message, there is this red exclamation point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been attempting to root my Eris, following the sticky at the top of the forum. It has proven to be impossible. I can not get by the USB driver portion of the tutorial. My phone is in debugging mode, but will not show up with an exclamation point no matter what I do, and Windows will not allow me to use the USB driver. I don't know if the tutorial is poorly explained or my phone is broken or corrupted but I've been having problems with it and was hoping the upgrade would fix said problems.

When 2.2 became available via OTA, I kept refusing the update, because I wasn't sure if I could update to it from a rooted phone. My wife was using the phone one day when the update notice popped up again, and she proceeded with the update. Sure enough, the update ended up failing, with a red triangle and exclamation point.
After I rebooted the device, I never received another OTA update request. So I tried to unroot the phone, but clockwork seems to stick around. Just an hour ago, I tried to install the official 2.2 ROM (PB31IMG.zip). After applying the image, I get a green triangle, then the same red triangle with an exclamation point. I restarted the device, but now it boots into the white hboot screen, with the following info:

OK, I used Soup or Root to root the phone. I see that i have root access. I installed Rom Manager. But no matter what rom I try to install, I get the little triangle with an exclamation point with the phone below it. I am sure I am missing something. Help a newbie out? So far I have tried to install bugless beast and cyanogenMod.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to see if anybody had some advice on the 1.29-1.56 update. I have tried several times including multiple hard resets to get my device to update. Each time the update downloads successfully but after the phone restarts and shows the progress bar unzipping the package it stops halfway and shows the phone with a triangle and a yellow exclamation point.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I reboot my phone, I first see the 3 androids on skateboards and then it goes to a pic of phone with the red exclamation point in a triangle (same as the failed recovery error). I can pull my battery but that does not help. My phone is useless for at least 30-45 minutes. I have pulled my battery up to 20 consecutive times to fix with no avail.
The variables: This is a refurb phone with 2.1 pre-installed. I have tried to root my phone with the whole timing trick, pull card, insert card. This was done a week or two ago. I do not have that file on my card, nor was my rooting successful. I am thinking that my problem is due to the refurb. My dialer lag is way worse than my previous phone. I can make one phone call every hour or so and I can forget calling someone right back if I missed their call. Does the red triangle/exclamation point show an attempt at rooting?
I did the simple root last night and installed the latest version of damage control that rom manager had access to. So after I loaded it onto my phone I tried to run DCupdater. The update downloaded fine, but I found that after it tried installing I would run into a screen that showed a yellow triangle with an exclamation point sign in it with an android next to it. What can I do so that I can update DC?

I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

I proceeded to try and turn the phone off but it gave me lots of options with a white screen, i couldn't get it to do anything so i took the battery out and then it started normally.
I really want to take screenshots of my desire to show you all, but i cant get it to work on my desire. When i open the sdk ddms tool my desire doesnt show on the list, I have followed the guide found on page 1 in the "show us your desire screen" thread, but there seems to be a problem: I installed all the software including the usb-driver package for the sdk-software. I checked the "usb-debugging" on the desire.
So I read that maybe i should update the device from the Windows devicemanager. First of, my desire doesnt show, it shows only a "ADB" - is that my desire? I tried upgrading the driver on the ADB, but even if i browse to the USB-folder in sdk it says "no driver found".
How on Earth do you take screenshots on a Panasonic Eluga dL1 ) ?? without having to root the device.. HTC has HOME+ Back on some devices, Samsung BACK + Power Off, what about Eluga?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI had Swype, all was good. Then it started freezing my screen, or misguiding the touch to the point that removing the battery was the only option. It was not a phone issue, because I factory reset and it works now. I had to because disabling Swype did not solve the problem. Is there any beta or anything out there?I CAN'T GO BACK TO TOUCH INPUT!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have built a simple app that uses a Google MapActivity. On top of the Map, I have 2 overlays, a Marathon Course and the position of a runner. The latter position overlay simply shows an updated blue dot.I update the location of the dot every second but the screen does not refresh. If I tap the scrren then the dot updates. Am I missing some hard refresh call somewhere? My Overlay code is small and shown below. Note that it does go into the draw routine every second and the point is changed.

In the TimerTasks run() I am setting a bunch of text views to the relevant values. My problem is that this seems to work fine, but it makes my home screen unresponsive, probably due to updating it every second. How do I fix this and still have it update the display at the correct time? (I only need to see minutes not seconds, but I want the minutes to change at the correct second.)
My Ally screen seems way too sensitive. When I try to get my voicemail and attempt to enter my password, it seems that it sometimes enters numbers for me and I get a message indicating that it is the wrong password. ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the velocity 0.3 and I tried to install the ROM but when it goes to the boot it shows an exclamation mark and the android robot thing. Then it goes away and reboots the system again. Its also the same when I try to access recovery mode via ROM manager. I read somewhere it's the signature for the ROM is missing and to change the settings manually but I can't get to recovery screen.

If anyone has done this before please post your experiences. My friend cracked his screen twice and had a rooted phone and had it replaced twice, so I know it can be done.

I already replaced the phone with an HTC Incredible, but I would like to try to repair the Ally for my fiance to use. I'm experienced in small electronics repair, but I am having a heck of a time locating the part. It just isn't coming up on any cell phone repair sites. Does anyone know of a supplier who would sell a replacement screen for this phone?
