I wanted to see if anybody had some advice on the 1.29-1.56 update. I have tried several times including multiple hard resets to get my device to update. Each time the update downloads successfully but after the phone restarts and shows the progress bar unzipping the package it stops halfway and shows the phone with a triangle and a yellow exclamation point.

When 2.2 became available via OTA, I kept refusing the update, because I wasn't sure if I could update to it from a rooted phone. My wife was using the phone one day when the update notice popped up again, and she proceeded with the update. Sure enough, the update ended up failing, with a red triangle and exclamation point.
After I rebooted the device, I never received another OTA update request. So I tried to unroot the phone, but clockwork seems to stick around. Just an hour ago, I tried to install the official 2.2 ROM (PB31IMG.zip). After applying the image, I get a green triangle, then the same red triangle with an exclamation point. I restarted the device, but now it boots into the white hboot screen, with the following info:

So after I loaded it onto my phone I tried to run DCupdater. The update downloaded fine, but I found that after it tried installing I would run into a screen that showed a yellow triangle with an exclamation point sign in it with an android next to it. When I open it it says unable to send email even though I never sent one. It says check or verify account. I tried and it dosen't work. I was getting my mail fine and still am but I get that notification different times during the day. Is there a setting I need to adjust. I am using AOL has my default mail and have had no problem except for the notification I described.

i can get into the boot loader but when trying to go to recovery i get the exclamation point.
It comes up when sending text messages. Not in the messaging widget, but when you actually go into your text messages, and I think its some, not all. After the message is sent, on the right side of the screen/message, there is this red exclamation point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been attempting to root my Eris, following the sticky at the top of the forum. It has proven to be impossible. I can not get by the USB driver portion of the tutorial. My phone is in debugging mode, but will not show up with an exclamation point no matter what I do, and Windows will not allow me to use the USB driver. I don't know if the tutorial is poorly explained or my phone is broken or corrupted but I've been having problems with it and was hoping the upgrade would fix said problems.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I reboot my phone, I first see the 3 androids on skateboards and then it goes to a pic of phone with the red exclamation point in a triangle (same as the failed recovery error). I can pull my battery but that does not help. My phone is useless for at least 30-45 minutes. I have pulled my battery up to 20 consecutive times to fix with no avail.
The variables: This is a refurb phone with 2.1 pre-installed. I have tried to root my phone with the whole timing trick, pull card, insert card. This was done a week or two ago. I do not have that file on my card, nor was my rooting successful. I am thinking that my problem is due to the refurb. My dialer lag is way worse than my previous phone. I can make one phone call every hour or so and I can forget calling someone right back if I missed their call. Does the red triangle/exclamation point show an attempt at rooting?
I think I messed my phone up trying to unroot it. When I hold down the "Home" and "Power" key to bring up the system menu it doesn't come up. What does come up is an exclamation triangle with a little phone underneath. I then have to do a battery pull and start it normally. I can, however, bring up the system wipe by holding down "Home", "Back Key", and "Power". I did the wipe and tried once again to bring up the system menu with no such luck. I've downloaded the Sprint RUU 1.56.6 and installed it onto my phone. It has been since this install that I couldn't access the system menu. Has it deleted it? What do I do?! I just want my phone the way it was when I got it.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I've rooted my Hero, flashed a custom ROM, flashed a custom kernel, and then I downloaded some root-requiring apps (namely setCPU and Wifi Tether). However, whenever I open these apps, they do not ask me for Superuser Permissions!
For example, when I open setCPU, it says "No root access detected. Are applications allowed access to root? Operating in read-only mode." How do I fix this?
I got the yellow triangle I am rooted with unrevoked 3 but never installed ROMs or custom kernels or deleted anything sum1 help

I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I
Anyone run into this problem? My wife's phone camera was fine until after the recent update. Now the image appears very yellow and it will not focus. I've tinkered with the settings to no avail. Currently I have it set to the default settings. Any advice?

It showed up on the 2nd or 3rd day after getting the phone. It looks like a yellow sheet of paper with a dog-ear in the bottom-left corner. I had installed a couple of notepad apps and uninstalled all except for one called Note Me. I've checked Task Manager and it doesn't appear to be running. View 20 Replies View RelatedI had been using Fresh Rom 2.0d by flipz since last night, and got everything setup, last night I had trouble updating the Profile and PRL so this morning I tried it again and succeeded the PRL update, unfortunately right after the PRL update the Sprint Network never came back. I can ROAM when I switch off Sprint Only but no Sprint Network.What can I do to resolve the issue? Tried resetting the phone to no help, pulled the battery and reset, also attempted to update PRL and Profile again but without Service it won't do either.
