I cracked my LG Ally screen this weekend and do not have the Verizon insurance...Anyone have this problem and able to get it fixed? Any companies online you would suggest to get it fixed?

My Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I cracked my screen and just need to know how to go back to the stock rom and unroot so if Verizon agreed to replace the phone they won't know I tried to mess with it root-wise. If anyone has done this before please post your experiences. My friend cracked his screen twice and had a rooted phone and had it replaced twice, so I know it can be done.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI wonder if ne one had an major issue with their touch screen before like I had with mine. So I decided to post this little story. Let me start off with a little background info. I got my droid november 6, 5 46am central time zone. don't ask me how but the vzw dude was letting me earlier cuz I had work. I was so happy that day leaving t mobile I did love my g1 but wen I read all about the droid I felt likt I had to leave her and move on. She did do a lot for me but time tells all and it was my time go and move on.Untill two months ago (Present time I'm talking in) I realized not everyone has the bubbly keyboard. I saw friends at my unit (I'm in the army reserves) that bought the droid a couple of months after me had flat keyboards n they were bitching bout how flat it was. I agreed with them since I was woth a g1 the keyboard was a bit flat but nothing to were its such a pain, so my friend shows me his keyboard and I looked shocked played with it was like wow and I pulled my n did a side by side side comprasion and this before I saw the bubbley keyboard thread on here. So unforunately my toucscreen starting doin its own thing like it was ghost writer and spazzing out. I had no control over it this happened monday nite and I was dreading it that I will end up replacing it. But it would not let me do nothing.I couldn't go ne where on my screen it would randomly hit different icons to the point were sum times it would call my contacts. I only had control over the physical buttons. So on Tuesday during work I fought the ghost writer to let get to setting a do a system restore. First minute of the set up was ok but right wen it finish and I was on the home screen again. I was like FUDGE I don't want to replace my rare Droid. After work I replaced it, I was real pissed I had the bubbly keyboard and (something I didn't noticed untill I got my replacement) the golden plated volume side button. I miss my precious rare droid. I was soo proud to be first non employee to have the droid in houston.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFor whatever unlucky reason, I have dropped my phone THREE times today.Every time on to hard linoleum floor. The last time I did it I did a quick check over of everything and noticed a small crack on the bottom of the phone going from the back cover to the screen, right on the bottom right corner. It's not really a crack..it's like it's under the plastic Strange.I have also not had any service for the past 3 hours or longer.I get "No Service" and an x above the signal bars.Anyone in the southeast with this problem? Could it be a verizon problem or could it have been caused by me dropping my phone?

He researched for 10mins, sent some kind of profile update to my phone and now when 4g is on my phone doesnt lag.I dont know what he did but it worked! Before i called him i tried all the updates through the update menu, but nothing worked. He definitely did something that isnt available through the update menu

Luckily Verizon will replace it for me under insurance (after paying my deductible). However before I send back the old phone I want to get my old pictures and texts off it. Is that possible?
The phone itself is working (lower soft keys light up, I can feel haptic feedback, etc). NOTHING appears on the screen however. When I plug my USB cable in, I get a sound on my PC indicating a USB device is plugged in, but since I can't see the phone screen, I can't mount the device via the notifications menu.
I gave my son a Samsung Moment for Christmas and before the day was though he dropped it and cracked the screen? The phone works fine. What is the best way for me to get this screen fixed. Just call Sprint or take it back to Best Buy. Any idea what the cost is for that kind of a repair?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy screen fell on a hard concrete floor and cracked, but i felt lucky because i thought its just the bottom 1/10th part of the phone broke.. Its a Nexus 4 I cant press the Back, Home, and the switch app soft buttons and also i cant press probably a few other pixels (I cant type SMS because i cant click on the bottom row and so keyboard wont appear).I think there should be some setting somewhere to fool around android to say that my screen size = 9/10th of the current screen size (the bottom 1/10th of the screen should be blank.) If there is any such app or any setting in any custom ROM. Tried google, cant seem to find the proper keywords.

View 17 Replies View RelatedMy current phone is a Behold, KRZR before that, and a Kyocera SOHO before that. I really like the Behold, it is by far the best phone I have used to date. But it is time for a change. I'm looking for a touchscreen phone with WiFi and Android and I don't want a data plan.
Requirements:
1) Touchscreen (no slider)
2) Android, preferably 2.2 or confirmed update in pipeline (or ability to root & update)
3) No Data Plan (I'm not willing to pay $30/month for something I won't often use)
4) WiFi
5) Fast processor, 800mhz or faster
6) Camera w/flash Possibilities:
1) Because I don't want data, I don't need 3g, so I could run an AT&T phone.
2) I am willing to root a phone, as long as the process is reasonably well explained in a how-to.
3) I am not looking for a new contract and am willing to pay outright for the phone.
4) If there is a phone that will work, I am willing to consider a phone not sold in the US, if I can get it on eBay or elsewhere. Remember, no data, no 3g, so that might open a few doors.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy HT Desire HD touchscreen died (at least partly) last week. I can no longer use anything in a column about a centimetre wide that runs the whole right side of the screen - which includes the Enter button. So I can't actually login to the phone
I've bought a new phone (Sony Xperia Z) and got my sim copied and switched the SD card from the Desire to the Sony. However, there is still stuff on the phone. I've realised that at least some of my data was on the onboard memory and I'd like to get it back. So basically I'm looking for ways to get the data back.
I can't plug the phone in and pull data off because I need to be able to login to switch it from charge only to USB drive. Maybe there's a way to force this?
I read an interesting post on hooking a USB keyboard to android and it should "just work" (How To Connect a USB Keyboard To Your Android Phone). However, I don't have the adapter to connect it, and the Desire ran an older version of android with Sense on top, so it may "just not work".
My touch screen doesnt work and i need to enter on my android to take my pictures back. I have no SD Card, they are all in the internal memory of the phone.I tried Kies but the phone is locked by a security code.

I dried it out and left it off. After 24hrs I turned it back on and the phone needed to reset it self, this was done. My phone has totally reset now but the screen don't work. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the touchscreen. After the phone wakes, the home button will be phantomly held. The app switcher will keep coming up, apps will randomly close (as in the home button being pressed). Swype confirms that there's a held input at the home button. Sometimes the lockscreen won't unlock (screen won't register, probably because the home button phantom press is overriding other input). I've tried this without the charger, in and out of my hand. Using stock battery, OEM charger. Also tried on official Verizon stock 2.2, cyanogenmod, fourth wave, and virtuous.

My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI figured out how to full flash the LG Ally 740 to cricket but 3 out of every 5 phones I flash do not save the NV settings. When I go to manual programming (##program740 send) then select DATA. The MIP & DUN MIP settings always revert back to the default 0000000000@vzw3g.com settings. I've changed them in LGNPST,CDMA Workshop & QPST but still reverts back to VZW. It's rooted and tried several different ROM's to fix the problem. Could it be the kernel? If anyone can help, please let me know.
