My lg ally has been stuck in safe mode for the past few days now. I have tried a power reboot, as well as a battery pull, yet no luck. Because of this, I cant use any of my application downloads.

My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

I just installed an app (Contact Owner) and once I rebooted my phone, I can never get back into the system.
That shall be the only harmful action that I had done, can I know if there's any way that I can boot into safe mode to uninstall that particular app?
Note:I read some links, including this. Some said, HOME + Power, some said MENU + Power. Am trying both now and see which is gonna work.Tried both, not working How long do I have to press on the buttons? Is the "Power" button the right most bottom button?
Anyone know how to get my DX out of Safe Mode? Got the phone wet and the rice trick seemed to bring it back to life, but it is stuck in safe mode. Battery pulls do not fix it.I have a replacement on order, but they aren't giving me a delivery date.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm trying to root my htc hero with android 2.1 and ive done all the steps and im not getting the "superuser permissions" a[[ in my app tray ive updated my build number to 2.27.651.5 which it says to do before i root. ive downloaded sync, and all the files and when i use the command prompt it goes all the way to the "unrevoked" part and the app doesnt go into my tray, im thinking its because its in safe mode and i cant get it out of safe mode, i need to get out of safe mode regardless anyway

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was downloading a bluetooth toggle button from the market, battery died. After plugging it in and turning it on, it's now in "Safe Mode". Says safe mode in bottom left corner, none of my app's show up, none of my widgets work.
Rebooted 100 times, held the trackball, held the menu button, held the back button, held the volume button, factory reset. Still in safe mode.

View 31 Replies View RelatedI tried to load velocity using ROM manager and it would boot, but it got force quit messages repeatedly before I could do anything else so I tried holding volume down, home, and send together and it flashed a screen quickly with the little android guy and a progress bar and then after that it won't go past the android logo. I tried using the LG-utility to flash it but it gives me errors and it wont flash it. What can I do besides run the thing over and get a new phone from insurance?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI figured out how to full flash the LG Ally 740 to cricket but 3 out of every 5 phones I flash do not save the NV settings. When I go to manual programming (##program740 send) then select DATA. The MIP & DUN MIP settings always revert back to the default 0000000000@vzw3g.com settings. I've changed them in LGNPST,CDMA Workshop & QPST but still reverts back to VZW. It's rooted and tried several different ROM's to fix the problem. Could it be the kernel? If anyone can help, please let me know.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore applying the Turbo4 ROM, I ran Linpack to get a base number so I can compare it with the number I get after I apply Turbo4. I got a 4.188. The phone is rooted with many of the stock apps removed running the Zeam Launcher, but no other custom ROMS.
Is that a pretty good number to start with? It was higher than I was expecting because most linpack scores i've read about are in the 3's.
yesterday I accidentally changed the settings on my ally and I set it so I could see the status of my sent messages. I took it off earlier today because it wasn't what I wanted. Now after 3 messages I have a grey box on my screen that says "Message received by (person's number)" and it doesn't go away unless I turn my phone off and back on again. Then after a few texts, it pops up again and won't go away.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnother n00b needing some tips/assistance... I spent hours the other night trying to figure out just how to flash my LG Ally to Cricket, to no avail. I've never flashed anything to anything before, so I'm trying to understand the whole process at the same time. There's a lot of vague info on the forums about doing this on the Ally, but nothing clear, yet. I rooted my phone (thanks to amoamare's AllyRR) and tried using 3 programs to gain access to changing PRLs, etc: CDMA Workshop, LGNPST, and QPST. None of them could correctly identify my phone (and yes, I had USB debugging on). It seems to me LG has added a layer of protection to prevent using these tools. My guess is that those of you out there who know how to code (I'm not included) can use ADB Shell or something else to modify PRLs, etc. on a rooted phone.
