Dec 24, 2013Is there a way to lock the apps and widgets on the home screen and dock from moving if pressed like on jelly bean 4.3?

Oct 18, 2010Ok Freaky, I place my phone down on the table within a few min the screens move from one to the other automatically whats up with this.. Its like a ghost here lol, No for real I swing my home pages all the way to the right within a few min they go back to the left strange any ideas people whats causing this..

A couple of days ago, the "Phone" icon suddenly appears on the left-most home screen rather than on the center one. Today, I discovered that I had 2 Gmail icons on my home screen. I thought that it was my imagination, but this has happened a couple of other times.

Just wanting to know because my wallpaper when upright (vertical position) does not look good when sideways (horizontal position). when sideway, because the differences in dimension of the screen, takes my wallpaper picture out of center so you cant see the entire picture.

Aug 17, 2010Running 2.2 from OTA when I take the phone out of a dock (Multimedia or car), the home screen has to rebuild it self. Meaning all the icons are slow to come back. think of it as on a windows machine Explorer dies and you have to do a start/run/explorer to get it back. Only difference i that this is automatic, just slow to get responsive again. Even swipping through the screen is slow at first. Is froyo, google's VISTA?

Mar 22, 2014I have installed on my phone a app called remote lock (rlyp) this is how it works.
you send a text message to your phone for example #lock and it locks your phone with a message LOCK, with your custom message below. sending a text back saying your phone have been locked.
The only way to unlock your phone is to send another sms for example #unlock, your phone gets unlocked and sends a message back saying your phone have been unlocked.
The text messages never used to show in the sms messages nor did you get any notifications of the message received.
The only problem is with this app is since the update to kitkit, the phone displays the sms in the inbox, which I know can't be read until the phone has been unlocked, but if you forgot to delete the message and someone else say the message they could lock your phone s a prank etc.
As I don't think this app is supported anymore so any similar app out there, all I want to do is to be able to lock and unlock the phone by sms, and no other means, and for the phone that locked it to get a message saying the phone has been locked. I have seen a few apps out there which do a similar trick but they give the option to enter a password on the screen of the locked phone.
Failing that is there a way to fix the app already installed so that the phone will not display the incoming messages of the lock and unlock texts anywhere, but still allow them to work?

As you may know, current Android stock Home doesn't support it, and HTC Sense doesn't provide any API.We propose to create an open source standard for an Home extension code allowing devs to create 3rd party widgets which support scrolling (list view).The principe have been implemented, and succesfully tested in Home++ and Pure messenger widget.Now, after discussing with other Home creators, we'd like to generalize this and include it in other Home applications. Few other Home applications devs are already integrating the Home++ code to evaluate this (FreedHome, Tag Home and HelixLauncher 1).Here is the list of interested parteners: - Helix Launcher - FreedHome - Tag Home - ADW Launcher - LauncherPro beta - GDE.During this first phase we'd like to focus on scrollable widgets but other extensions could be imagined (animations, gestures)If Google wants to use it for the next Android release, we would be very happy, but for now, the goal is to include it in a large number of alternative Home applications.

Oct 24, 2013For some reason I'm having problems deleting the widgets by dragging them into the bin. 9 times out of 10, the rubbish bin refuses to appear when I long press on a widget.
Is there another way - eg some settings menus somewhere or maybe a file that I can edit.

May 2, 2010I loaded a wallpaper into the DCIM folder on the internal memory and after disconnecting from the computer, I changed the home screen wallpaper to this picture. (the one of the predator and alien playing chess).Now all 7 home screens are completely blank. No widgets or icons. Somehow everything on the home screens has been wiped. I removed the picture from the internal memory folder.

Sep 15, 2010I am on 2.1 and couldn't get a god damn GPS signal yesterday while driving. Is this THAT much of a problem? I am about to throw this POS out of the window. It took me 2.5 hours to get somewhere yesterday which should have been a fucking hour. What, if anything, will Sprint do? I have had this since Nov last year and I want to get rid of it.
Also, this morning, no GPS on or anything and was on charge all night, the battery went to 50 percent according to the battery widget in an HOUR.
Also, widgets being moved from 1 home screen to another while it's being used and without MY interaction.
