my phone has been randomly spazzing out. I have a LG G2 with 4.4.2
It will slide left to right, open and close apps, etc. without me touching it.
It will go periods of time without doing this, then not stop doing it for a good few minutes. i did just factory reset it, but it is still doing the same thing.

Anyone else seen this? I am on say, Friendstream, hit home, then hit Home, and my Incredible starts flipping though screen by itself. every 5 seconds or so it will just start scrolling through my homescreens and I can't stop it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I was going to sleep, I had my phone plugged in when I received a text. I attempted to unlock the phone, and it wouldn't! I started freaking out a bit, finally was able to unlock it, but had a tough time replying using the keyboard. It seemed the screen was spazzing out. When I unplugged the phone, everything was fine. I installed the free Paint application and ran some tests. As can be seen, using a charger that outputs > 850mA (the stock charger's value) is no good for touch sensitivity. If anyone can chime in with other concerns, that would be very helpful. I find that the 1000mA charger definitely charges the phone faster; does anyone think that this is bad for the phone (aside from the screen issue)?
I misread the stock charger's amperage initially; I thought it was 250mA, which is why I'm using the 1000mA. I think for now I'll switch to the stock charger. I would like to use the 1000mA if any other users think that would be fine. I don't have a problem unplugging it to use it.
I think the Dialer is very powerful but I am unable to get it to recognize parts of a phone number. For example, most of my saved numbers include area codes (most of them are 'xyz'). When I type the first three of the 7-digit number (excluding the area code) no results show. It seems as though the area code must be typed in order to get results to show. Obviously, almost 95% of my contacts have an area code of 'xyz' and that's, IMO, too many buttons to press to start narrowing down to get a specific contact. Does anyone know how to change this?

My phone no longer shows that it's "charging", but it beeps if I unplug it and says to connect the charger. View 2 Replies View RelatedThe first couple of times I connected my new Captivate to my PC via USB, it worked fine. I was given the notification to mount and view my files, and I was able to access everything. This morning, I plugged my phone in, and told it to mount in the notifications, but it did not appear on my PC. When I unplugged it and tried it again, it was not recognized at all as a USB drive.
Notes:
-I am using the "internal SD card". I have no external microSD to use at the moment.
-The phone charges when plugged into the computer, but does not mount.
-I have tried reinstalling the USB drivers via links found on this forum.
I sync my Eris with Outlook on my computer but have not done so since March 2010. When I now plug my Eris into a USB port, it does not recognize it as another drive or hardware like it used to. The computer does recognize other peripherals when plugged into the USB port.
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday I woke up to my phone charging by the night... but it downcharged to 15% of batterry. I reboot it and find out that my SD card showed up info of being "empty". The minitool partition wizard on a PC shows me that info:
no no, the memory card is 8GB not 32MB. How to recover the partitions? Also, the SD card has been partitioned for use with app2sd programs with this tut: [URL], because my phone (HTC Explorer "Pico") has a very small amount of internal memory. The rom was stock though.
Of course I could re-format it, but I don't want to, because the data stored there was very special to me. I want to recover it.
when I connect my Sony Xperia T to my home computer, the ADB driver will be installed properly. When I connect the same phone to my work computer, Windows just doesn't want to accept the drivers. The following things are equal:
- USB debugging is always on on the phone
- Both computer are running Windows 7 64bit
- On both computers I am pointing the Windows driver installation at the same folder with drivers downloaded from Sony.
The thing that is different is the device ID that Windows reports in the Details dialogue from Device manager:
On the home PC it is:

On the other PC where things go wrong it is:

So it seems Windows is not recognizing the phone as a composite device (MI is it multiplexing identifier?). I double checked that USB debugging is always on and also rebooted Windows.
I am working on putting the new update on my wifes phone and I already installed the drivers needed on my windows xp but everytime I plug in my wifes moment it says USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned! I've tried everything I installed from sprint download site. I have tried Samsung studio. Also the tethering site. Also just the drivers nothing seems to work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Desire today, and despite spending many hours carefully updating my Google contacts, I've found that received calls and SMS messages are not displayed with the contact they're from. I believe this is because the details in my contacts list are in the format "01234 567789", whereas the incoming calls/messages are in the format "+441234 567789", and it's not realizing that the "+44" and "0" are interchangable. How can I resolve this, without going through all my contacts changing the prefix on the phone number?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Samsung Galaxy i7500 with Bell mobility and I am trying to figure all these threads out and how to root, and how to upgrade my firmware, but the biggest hurdle I have come to is my pc will not recognize my phone as a 'phone' it only sees the internal sd card and the external card. I have downloaded three different versions of the samsung PC suite, and everyone will not recognize it. Am I missing an important driver? All I am doing is connecting via USB, and on my phone I choose to mount USB so I can access my sd cards on my PC.

I cant even count.. within last two weeks Ive moved to ubuntu instead of windows..I set up everything on my phone on ubuntu..sdk and everything...so Ive been building a rom for the fassy and i was testing something I made and something went wrong..so I now have no recovery..no way to get my phone back..Im up and running on the rom but it will not due ( no gaaps ) . So when i plug my phone into a windows pc it will not recognize it for ODIN...in device manager it labelled as " Linux file-cd gadget USB device" and cant install the driver to use ODIN.

I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.
I had mounted my sd card to transfer files between pc (XP) and eris.
i correctly unmounted from pc (safely remove hardware) and then stopped file sharing on eris.
i took the card out and put in a different one (i don't have a card reader and was trying to transfer some stuff).
when i tried to put the original card back in, my finger slipped as i was pushing it in and it got like halfway in and then popped back out.
the eris saw this as an unsafe removal.
now, it keeps telling me "the sd card is blank or using an unsupported .." something. if i tap on the notification, it just takes to me a window to format it. i keep saying yes to format, but it never formats.
i've tried formatting from settings and tried mounting it again and formatting from the pc. when i do that, the pc says that the drive size is 1.08 TB (?!?!?). this is the 8GB sd card that comes with the eris. and it also won't let me format.
what gives? i've tried taking it out and putting it back in. it keeps saying unsafe removal but the option to unmount is grayed out and i can't choose it.
i tried taking it out, turning off the eris, putting the card in and turning back on. still nothing.
what's going on here?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMine just started registering phantom screen touches a little while ago.It seems to think there is either and up-swipe or some kind of touch near the top of the screen randomly. For example, an email or list will constantly be scrolling up or if I leave it on a screen with Power Panel on it, one of the icons will randomly highlight orange. The page with the google search widget will have the search field highlight orange on it's own too. When entering text, the cursor will randomly jump back to the beginning.

If anyone's used/compared the iPhone and Desire with a hands-on experience, could you please let me know how well the touch sensitivity/responsiveness of the HTC Desire compares with the iPhones? i.e. does it respond as well to soft/light touches as the iPhone does? Also, how well would you place the touch sensitivity (good, better, best, equal) for Apple iPhone, HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy i9000, if you've personally experienced all 3, or any 2 of them.I haven't been able to get my hands on one unfortunately. However in the last couple of days my screen appears to be detecting a second touch which pretty much prevents me playing games and is a real hindrance when typing. I could accept this if it were the gel protector or my hand running over the side of the screen, but it seems to be around the "rtuio" bit of the keyboard when holding the phone in portrait mode (i.e. the centre). I do have a screen protector on there but there are no air bubbles or anything visible underneath it. So yeah, has this been raised before? I couldn't find anything. Do I need to recalibrate the screen somehow?

However, I haven't yet managed to adjust the dispatchTouchEvent code to counter the map rotation effect for the user touches (right now when the map is rotated 90 degrees a user's horizontal sweep will move the map vertically etc). The sample code only offers the teaser:

I'm new to android development. Is it possible for a view (with a particular layout) to "appear" at the location where the user "touches"? If so, how? Like the idea of right-clicking on your computer - a menu pops down wherever you right-click and when you navigate away, it disappears.
