Anyone notice a change since the last update with inaccurate touches in the TM directory?I've lost count on how many times I'd touch on one person to text and it brings up someone completely different.

At some points while running my android application, I need to create a directory on the sd card, for a small number of users this fails and I can't figure out the reason for it... (I've found similar problems caused by the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission missing, it's there and it works for almost all users so I don't think this is reason) When mkdirs returns false I crash the program and log the following java.io.File properties, starting at the directory I want to create, then recursive printing properties of the parent directory and so on...

The strange thing is that the parent directory is writable (canWrite=true), I can't print the execute file permission but from what I've read, write is what you need when creating directories... What I've looked at so far is the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission, if the sd card is full and if the sdcard is mounted read only:...........................
I have an app that instructed me to copy some data from my computer to the SDCard. So I plugged the Droid into the computer, mounted my Droid SDCard, looked at the directory, and copied the file. There are a bunch of files and folders listed (e.g. backups for apps, album artwork, etc.) as being on the SDCard. But when I go into Astro on the Droid and select "SDCARD" it shows "directory is empty." I don't get it. Why can't I see the folders and files on the SDCard that I can see on the computer screen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I have line of sight with satellites (Outdoors) my locations is perfect(Scottsdale, AZ). If I go into a heavy concrete building such as my work, the GPS says I am at a house in Latvia. Is this a bug or something is wrong with my phone? I guess my fear is it has been cloned by someone in Latvia or something, I checked and I have no odd charges which is good. If the GPS was just broken and giving a bogus locations, wouldn't it be much more likely it would think I am in an Ocean or non populated area? A house in Latvia seems a bit too suspicious.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried using Layar 3 different times in 3 different locations, and each time it showed the locations of things to be completely opposite of where they were supposed to be. So I installed a Compass app and (at least in this room) it seems to be about 90* off. Can anyone else mess around with Layar / Compass app and report their findings?

I knew this could not be right and i proved it by surfing the net for 10 mins and watching a video for 75 minutes before the phone died. Has anyone had this happen to them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that the battery meter on my captivate (SRE + lagfix installed) is very inaccurate. For instance, I got the low battery notification and plugged my phone in when it got to 8%. However, the second I plug my phone in the battery meter jumps to 34. I unplugged it and sure enough, the battery stayed at 34%. Anyone having this problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMine just started registering phantom screen touches a little while ago.It seems to think there is either and up-swipe or some kind of touch near the top of the screen randomly. For example, an email or list will constantly be scrolling up or if I leave it on a screen with Power Panel on it, one of the icons will randomly highlight orange. The page with the google search widget will have the search field highlight orange on it's own too. When entering text, the cursor will randomly jump back to the beginning.

If anyone's used/compared the iPhone and Desire with a hands-on experience, could you please let me know how well the touch sensitivity/responsiveness of the HTC Desire compares with the iPhones? i.e. does it respond as well to soft/light touches as the iPhone does? Also, how well would you place the touch sensitivity (good, better, best, equal) for Apple iPhone, HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy i9000, if you've personally experienced all 3, or any 2 of them.I haven't been able to get my hands on one unfortunately. This seemed to be the only way left to find out.

She's new to the phone itself, so is she doing something wrong or is this just a con of smartphones? Or is this a Droid thing and not an EVO thing?

However in the last couple of days my screen appears to be detecting a second touch which pretty much prevents me playing games and is a real hindrance when typing. I could accept this if it were the gel protector or my hand running over the side of the screen, but it seems to be around the "rtuio" bit of the keyboard when holding the phone in portrait mode (i.e. the centre). I do have a screen protector on there but there are no air bubbles or anything visible underneath it. So yeah, has this been raised before? I couldn't find anything. Do I need to recalibrate the screen somehow?

However, I haven't yet managed to adjust the dispatchTouchEvent code to counter the map rotation effect for the user touches (right now when the map is rotated 90 degrees a user's horizontal sweep will move the map vertically etc). The sample code only offers the teaser:

And while I am at it - Is it still possible to position the zoom controls separately, so that they do NOT rotate when the map rotates? I read that the getZoomControls() is deprecated.

I'm new to android development. Is it possible for a view (with a particular layout) to "appear" at the location where the user "touches"? If so, how? Like the idea of right-clicking on your computer - a menu pops down wherever you right-click and when you navigate away, it disappears.

It will slide left to right, open and close apps, etc. without me touching it.
It will go periods of time without doing this, then not stop doing it for a good few minutes. i did just factory reset it, but it is still doing the same thing.
I have a xi electronics chinese crappy tablet, it came pre rooted. So I changed he cpu governor and I pressed apply, after that it stuck , and I needed to reboot using power and vol -It booted up but now my TouchScreen doesnt respond on my touches!, I have already tried factory reset using adb , didn't work.

Here is the problem, I am building an application and have multiple images that need to switch when the user touches the screen, doesn't matter where the users touches. The press the screen and the images switch randomly. I purchased the ebook "Professional Android Application Development" and have torn though it. I am stumped. I'm thoroughly confused at this point. Any ideas on where I can go or how I can accomplish this?
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy sero pro produce random false touches when connected to computer via usb cable. That makes it very inconvinient to use for development. It does not have this problem when the cable is not connected. That is most apparent when "Show touches" is turned on in developer settings.
I opened it up looking for loose joints on usb or digitizer ports, but everything seems good with that.
If you look at the apps that are in the "Top paid" category, and then go to Cryket.com and look them up, I find it hard to believe that these apps are really the "top paid".
For example, Buka is 1000-5000 downloads at about 1.25 or so. Color Pop! is 1.49, and is also in the 1000-5000 download range.
I've seen lots of apps (including my own of course) that are in the 1000-5000 range and cost more than these two, what makes them "count" as being on the main page as "top".
This "website" (I call it that loosely since it really needs some work!, I mean why even have it if it's not up to date with what is going on) seems completely arbitrary to me. I other words, what you you have to do to get Google's magic attention to get put on the site?
You shouldn't have to do anything anyway, it should just work automatically. Hopefully this will be the next thing they work on as well.
I've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
