Jan 4, 2010I am doing an Android application and I want to get the last 25 sent mails from a certain email account.For Gmail I might use http://g4j.sourceforge.net/ and there is Mail Web Service API for Yahoo at http://developer.yahoo.com/mail/.But I couldn't find something to do it with Hotmail.Do you know if it is possible?Also I am worried of having so many dependencies. I don't know if I should do something like https://sourceforge.net/projects/mrpostman/ and do web scraping.

Sep 6, 2010I just got my Captivate the other day and I was wondering if there are any good e-mail apps for gmail, yahoo mail, and hotmail? I've tried each and the stock but either it won't let me add multiple accounts or it doesn't receive the emails even though there are new ones in my inbox when I check it.

I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?

Feb 24, 2010So for some reason after updating to SENSE UI for the Magic, I've had difficulties programming my hotmail into my phone. I'm not sure if its due to the firmware of if i'm simply doing something wrong. Here are my configuration settings (I'm using POP3):

Mar 6, 2010I remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
HTC Magic :: Gmail Not Downloading All Email Through POP3
Sep 18, 2010I'm having troubles with Gmail POP server on my HTC Magic.I can send and receive emails from the Magic, but it won't download the emails that are already in the Gmail inbox.I have set up the Gmail account to enable POP for all mail, not just new messages.What am I missing?

HTC Magic : Browsing To Hotmail Is Unable To Work
Jul 30, 2009I've got a problem with my HTC Magic when browsing to hotmail.com. For some reason it won't open my hotmail inbox via the browser. I'd rather use my browser when reading my mail than installing it on the device.
If I surf to sign in. I see in the gray bar: A pictograph of a globe, a pictograph of a lock and https://mid.live.com. Anyone an idea how I can view my hotmail via the browser?

May 6, 2010I've had my Droid since they came out last year. Somehow I was able to configure notification lights for Gmail and Handcent, but I don't remember how. I had to wipe my phone and start over and now I can't figure out how I did that. I have Touchdown Pro for Exchange and that allows me to customize the LED for that app, but I can't find the settings for Gmail or Handcent. I know they used to be there, but I can't remember what I did to make them appear. I must have installed a third-party app, but I have no idea what it was. Any idea how I did it? I'd really like to get those notification LEDs back!

Jan 26, 2010I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. Jun 6, 2012I have a Galaxy Nexus with Stock 4.0.4 ROM and a Transformer Prime also with the stock ASUS firmware (4.0.3), The company where I work has a mail server that supports exchange (Kerio Connect) At that server I have (because I need it that way) 2 different accounts, I need one of those accounts to synchronize everything; contacts, mail, calendar, and the other one to synchronize only calendar appointments.
If I configure the first account everything works just fine. But, when I configure the second account, I start receiving login errors for both accounts every certain time, the apps shows me the option to update my account credentials and when I do it works for the moment but after a while it fails again. If I delete whichever of the two accounts the other works fine.
I have not tested this scenario against other email servers, so I'm not sure if this a problem with my server or if this is an Android problem.
Both accounts are configured as Exchange accounts from Settings menu.

I went into settings and changed mail to download from 3 days to all. So far so good.
But from time to time I get "new mail" but these are mails that have been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks (on the phone I mean)
How come? or is there another alternative? An app that links to hotmail (really link and not donload the mial to phone) and even refreshes at specific times to alert you if you have new mail?
