I did the dumbest thing today. i wanted to change my email address, i got hacked so i changed it right away. little did i realise i would lose all my purchased apps. i emailed the developers and asked if they would require me to purchase all over again...NO RESPONSE THANKS! so now im lookin to you guys.PLEAAASE HELP ME! how do i recover all my purchased apps from another email that no longer exists?

With the purchased apps, what happens when you upgrade to a newer android phone? Are these apps bound to you by your google user or by phone? Is it maybe done through the cellular carrier?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had several of my users email me to tell me they had to do a factory reset on their phone for some reason or other. The problem is, they had purchased apps installed and the Android market app loses track of this information when the phone is reset. My only solution to their problem is to go into my checkout account, refund their money and ask them to repurchase my app.
Am I correct in assuming that Google decided to only check the PackageManager on the device to determine if an app was purchased or not? Is there really no other means of determining that an app was purchased? Surely this information about the purchase is kept on a server somewhere (which is why I can see the purchase information with Google Checkout) Also, since the user of a phone must login with a Google account in order to use the market, can't you just correlate the user's purchased apps with their login account and bypass the phone altogether? I'm probably missing something, but I wanted to let you know its a source of frustration to have to deal with this when I consider this issue the responsibility of the market infrastructure.
Does anyone know if there's anyway to backup purchased apps before doing a factory reset. I've gone a bit crazy with apps on my Droid and its slowed down quite a bit. I'd like to do a reset and restore some of my purchased apps that I still want around...

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I recover my applications from my tablet after I have rooted it. since the stock/original applications takes up 8 gigs of space of my internal memory. I just cannot seem to access/delete those 8 gigs??
I flashed cyanogen 9 to my SGT2.10.1 and it was successful, although I am stuck on trying to recover my applications from the partition internal memory. Of course I have done a variety of steps to recover them and some of the steps I took are:
1. I tried using the spk tool - I really do not know how to use it and I am having a hard time figuring it out .
2. Trying to delete and reformat the internal memory - was not successful since it only erased of what I currently had on the rooted and partitioned memory, thus my original/stock application are still within the internal memory.
3. I tried using applications such PC36IMG-AmonRA-3.07-gnm.zip - I changed the name to PC36IMG but flashing it lead to installation fail/aborted.
4. I tried recovering them with titanium back up - but the application couldn't see my original/stock applications.
5. Also tried using Astro File manager - Same results as TBU .
6. Deleting the files from my pc via usb- it does not give me an option to reformat it.
I have noticed (since getting a Task Manager) that apps that I run do not all seem to quit when I exit. For example, I load up an application, and then finish by using the back key, which takes me back to the 'desktop'.
When I then load up task manager I find that the app is usually still listed. Also I will usually find setting and a number of other apps listed. nb. These are Apps and not services.
As a new Magic user I wonder if I am doing something wrong or maybe not closing apps correctly. Some have an 'exit' entry in the context menu, but many others do not, and for these maybe I am not correctly closing them when I think I have by using the back key.
Also, does the Magic multi-task. Is there a way to switch between running applications?
All this seems that it should be obvious, but even after downloading the full user guide pdf, I am still no wiser on the subject.
Finally, is it true that to use the alarm clock I have to leave the phone powered up? My old Nokias used an alarm that worked when the phone was powered off, and even gave the option to turn the phpne on when the alarm went off. I assume this isn't possible with Android/Magic?
Ican't notice how to install applications from market to my SD instead in the phone memory.

If you press and hold Home button, it will list 6 last applications that were started, and that is fine... what is not fine, is that after checking it out I noticed that all of the 6 applications listed there are continually running in the background. Is there a way to actually shut down an application, not just put it in the background or is that an unavoidable part of the Android? So to put it simply, how to I close an application once I ran it and have finished using it? I also noticed that depending on how many and which applications are running in the background my battery life is impacted severely.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed since I have updated to firmware 1.5 on my HTC Magic that I've been losing all types of audio intermittently.Example: I would be watching video on my Magic then the audio would suddenly cut out. This includes all types of notifications, alarms or ringtones.This is very disturbing cause it makes my phone very unreliable.I miss calls and messages and one time or another I overslept cause the alarm went off but there was no audio.I know its not a hardware issue cause once I reboot everything is normal again. I don't like rebooting all the time to fix this problem and worse you dont realize that you lost audio notifications until you do check your phone to discover you did.I've read on google forums of several other accounts of this but so far no solid solution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a like new mytouch 3g on craigslist and it has some weird things going on with it. I turned it on and it says Vodafone on the splash screen instead of mytouch 3g and then it goes to a screen that says HTC magic instead of the Android screen (i had one before so i know that is wrong). It is also only on Cupcake 1.5 and all the preloaded wallpapers and some of the apps are not what come on the tmobile one normally. The weird thing is is that it is FOR SURE a U.S. tmobile phone. Ive looked up all the info on the fastboot menu and it works and my 3g works. I googled this problem and 1 other person that i found had this too. They thought someone might have halfway rooted and not done it all the way (mine is definitely not rooted). I just want to get back the original tmobile os or firmware or whatever so i can update to 1.6 through them normally.

2) Dev makes $50 in a month, cries a little, realizes his game is languishing in the ratings so makes it free.
3) Game does really well and gets > 50,000 downloads.
4) Dev still wants to make some $$$ off his game, so adds a "donate" feature to app which points users to another app dev has created in the marketplace where they can donate by buying the app.
5) Dev wants to reward those who have donated by providing new features only to them.
How do I go about determining if any given user has purchased either my original app, or my "donate" app so that I can unlock functionality? I'd like to determine this even if the user no longer has the app installed on their phone. Then android market app seems to know this which is how it knows not to charge the user again for the same app they've already paid for.
playback of music using the htc magic (rogers) music player? I am getting some random blips of no audio when playing music. maybe a 1sec of no audio. Killed all tasks with taskiller and there is still the issue.

Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).

View 2 Replies View Relatednew to this site as never had any problems with my magic till today, my 2 year old to my horror threw it against the wall and the battery etc fell out, Fortunatly when i examined it there was no damage screen wasnt cracked or damaged or anything, however since ive turned it back on theres safe mode in transparetn writing at the bottom left of the screen and the touch screen doesnt work and every time i go into a process such as say contacts , i get the 'the process android.process.acore has stopped please try again everything works like i say i can go online but obviously without the use of the touch screen i cant type, nor can i send texts due to the lack of touchscreen so what can i do HELP PLEASE Or do i have to face facts and get in touch with my insurance ?
