Android :: How To Download Purchased Apps On New Phone?

Apr 8, 2010

I currently have the motorola droid with Verizon, and will be moving out of the country soonish. I have decided I want to buy an unlocked milestone because where I'm going they use GSM. My question is this: are my purchases in the android store somehow linked to my phone, or linked to my phone number, or linked to my google account? When I switch android phones, will I be able to download my purchased apps on the new phone?

Android :: Purchased Apps On Multiple Devices?

Mar 20, 2010

I have a question about the way the Android market handles purchased apps.I've seen in other posts where if you upgrade to a new phone, your purchased apps will follow you.But how about if you use more than one Android device? For instance, later this year I may get an Android tablet. Presumably the apps I purchased on my Droid will downloadable on the tablet. But will they remain downloadable on my Droid? And if I purchase an app on the tablet, will it also be downloadable on my Droid? It seems to me that if the apps are associated with your account, then you should be able to download them on multiple devices.I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried and confirmed this.

HTC Incredible :: Getting Purchased Apps Onto New Phone

May 25, 2010

So I searched for this but the answers don't make sense. I purchased some apps for the Inc like Doodle jumper and now in 2 weeks I am getting a new phone because mine reboots all the time, So my question is, How do I easily re-install the apps I purchased? The answers keep saying once you log into your google account the phone will know but it doesn't, I tried it on my buddies Inc just to test and it still makes me put in CC info to get D.J. on that phone so i am worried I will have to re purchase any apps when the new one arrives. I tried to backup the apps but I cannot find the purchased ones in the private area unless it is rooted (according to forums)

Android :: Removing Uninstalled Purchased Apps From Downloads Section Of Market?

Sep 24, 2010

I'm running Froyo on an N-1.I have uninstalled some of the apps that I previously purchased, and I no longer want them to appear in the Downloads area of the Market app. However, they still show up there with the "Purchased" designation, and they contribute to the count of updated apps whenever Market checks for updates.I have followed the instructions here, but they do not work for me:Removing deleted apps from downloads listing.Any ideas as to how I can keep these non-longer-installed, previously purchased apps from showing up within my list of Downloads?

Motorola Droid X :: Transfer Purchased Apps?

Jul 15, 2010

I currently have the droid and have had to do a factory reset several times for trying out different programs and unfortunately been stuck on a force closure loop. When I did the factory reset google had all of my purchased apps saved, I had to re-download them all of course. I'm pretty sure that it would transfer over to a new phone but that is only an assumption, I was hoping one of you guys with waaaaaaay more tech and computer smarts would be able to confirm this for me.

HTC Eris :: Rooted 2.1 OTA / Now Purchased Apps Arent Available

May 26, 2010

I'm new to the whole rooting scene but everything seemed to go flawlessly following the 1.5 to latest root directions, but after rooting my purchased apps are no longer shoing in the downloads section of the marketplace. . I ran a search for the app and the pro version (Tapatalk) isn't even showing anymore, just the free version. Just out of curiosity I followed the directions to revert back to 1.5 stock and upgraded back to the OTA 2.1 and the app shows up again. Anyone had this issue before or know of a fix fo rit?

General :: How To Access Purchased Apps From Different Account

Dec 30, 2012

My Google account on my Note 2 is registered under my gmail address for work. Every app I have ever purchased is under my work account. If I were to lose my job, I cannot use that email address anymore, thus losing everything I have purchased. Should I start a new gmail account and start buying apps through it? Can I just add a new email to my phone, or do I need to wipe the data? Can I have two emails where I can access apps through one, but not the other?

General :: Apps Purchased Since Switch To Google Play Won't Download?

Mar 10, 2012

I purchased apps, via Google Play, and now can't download them. Not just to my Xoom, but also my SGS2. I've tried all download fix options on the Google site, even talked to a tech (who asked I do them again, and then respond via email).

Another option would be to do a factory wipe/reset. Since I'm playing around with ICS, I decided to revert back to factory on the Xoom and try again. Still no luck. Just stays at "Starting download". No percentage. No little "downloading..." message under it. Can't even cancel it from downloading.

And I've tried the following options:
Cleared the cache and/or data
Uninstalled updates
Logged in and out of the "Talk" app several times
Rebooted
Tried requesting from the store web page on my desktop
Tried over different wifi networks
Tried over Verizon
Tried over AT&T
Tried with ICS 4.0.3
Tried with Gingerbread 2.3.6
Tried with Honeycomb 3.2.6
Tried with a factor reset/wiped Xoom (using .img files directly from the Motorola web site)
I have plenty of free space available

I know if this doesn't get resolved, both of my android devices will have become useless to me.

General :: Purchased Apps No Longer Showing In Play Market

May 16, 2012

yesterday I reflashed a tablet with a clean install of cm7, factory reset clear cache etc. Latest Gapps.

I set up the main account with a gmail account I made for my kids because the device is mainly used by them. I added my own google account so it can be used with the play store to redownload all the apps I have purchased for them. I have set the play store to use my google account.

But all the apps I have previously paid for have their price listed beside them in the store, rather than saying "purchased". If I try to buy them again it gives me message saying there was an error with the transaction.I have set up a device with 2 accounts like this before and it worked ok.

Android :: Newly Purchased Mytouch 3G Not Working

Jan 21, 2010

I just bought a like new mytouch 3g on craigslist and it has some weird things going on with it. I turned it on and it says Vodafone on the splash screen instead of mytouch 3g and then it goes to a screen that says HTC magic instead of the Android screen (i had one before so i know that is wrong). It is also only on Cupcake 1.5 and all the preloaded wallpapers and some of the apps are not what come on the tmobile one normally. The weird thing is is that it is FOR SURE a U.S. tmobile phone. Ive looked up all the info on the fastboot menu and it works and my 3g works. I googled this problem and 1 other person that i found had this too. They thought someone might have halfway rooted and not done it all the way (mine is definitely not rooted). I just want to get back the original tmobile os or firmware or whatever so i can update to 1.6 through them normally.

Android :: How To Know User Purchased Specific Application In Market?

Jul 21, 2009

Use case goes like this:

1) Dev puts game for sale on Android market hoping to make lots of $$ $.
2) Dev makes $50 in a month, cries a little, realizes his game is languishing in the ratings so makes it free.
3) Game does really well and gets > 50,000 downloads.
4) Dev still wants to make some $$$ off his game, so adds a "donate" feature to app which points users to another app dev has created in the marketplace where they can donate by buying the app.
5) Dev wants to reward those who have donated by providing new features only to them.

How do I go about determining if any given user has purchased either my original app, or my "donate" app so that I can unlock functionality? I'd like to determine this even if the user no longer has the app installed on their phone. Then android market app seems to know this which is how it knows not to charge the user again for the same app they've already paid for.

Android :: Market Loses Track Of Purchased Applications After Factory Reset

Nov 17, 2009

I've had several of my users email me to tell me they had to do a factory reset on their phone for some reason or other. The problem is, they had purchased apps installed and the Android market app loses track of this information when the phone is reset. My only solution to their problem is to go into my checkout account, refund their money and ask them to repurchase my app.

Am I correct in assuming that Google decided to only check the PackageManager on the device to determine if an app was purchased or not? Is there really no other means of determining that an app was purchased? Surely this information about the purchase is kept on a server somewhere (which is why I can see the purchase information with Google Checkout) Also, since the user of a phone must login with a Google account in order to use the market, can't you just correlate the user's purchased apps with their login account and bypass the phone altogether? I'm probably missing something, but I wanted to let you know its a source of frustration to have to deal with this when I consider this issue the responsibility of the market infrastructure.
