Android :: Can I Recover Applications Previously Downloaded?
Aug 17, 2010I lost my Incredible and just received my replacement. Is there any way to recover the applications that were on my old phone, or do I have to remember what I had and re-download everything?

Jan 15, 2013How can I recover my applications from my tablet after I have rooted it. since the stock/original applications takes up 8 gigs of space of my internal memory. I just cannot seem to access/delete those 8 gigs??
I flashed cyanogen 9 to my SGT2.10.1 and it was successful, although I am stuck on trying to recover my applications from the partition internal memory. Of course I have done a variety of steps to recover them and some of the steps I took are:
1. I tried using the spk tool - I really do not know how to use it and I am having a hard time figuring it out .
2. Trying to delete and reformat the internal memory - was not successful since it only erased of what I currently had on the rooted and partitioned memory, thus my original/stock application are still within the internal memory.
3. I tried using applications such PC36IMG-AmonRA-3.07-gnm.zip - I changed the name to PC36IMG but flashing it lead to installation fail/aborted.
4. I tried recovering them with titanium back up - but the application couldn't see my original/stock applications.
5. Also tried using Astro File manager - Same results as TBU .
6. Deleting the files from my pc via usb- it does not give me an option to reformat it.
Android :: Ad's & Free Applications
Sep 15, 2010I thought of a question today which I would like to put out there to see what people do / think. When I see a free application which I like and use if an Advertisement comes up which even vaguely interests me I will normally click on it. This I guess is my way of saying thanks to the dev for not only making the app but for keep it free. Who here uses the Ad's in apps? Do you do it because you know it will help the dev out or just because you where interested in the product the Ad was pitching?

Dec 12, 2009I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm wondering why so many apps are free. Take for example, PandaHome. I installed it and really love using it. But in the back of my mind I'm wondering why this product is free. Part of my concern is PandaHome has access to many key parts of my Android phone, like contacts, etc. Is it somehow tracking / using my data or my use of the phone for some other marketing purposes? They say there's no such thing as a free lunch, so there's got to be a catch somewhere? Why are so many great apps free?

But I think it is pretty important for a lot of us to know good ways to make free versions that can't be cracked too easily etc. After all most people just download the free stuff, I know I do, so its important for numbers.

Oct 4, 2010Any ideas on how to free up space without deleting apps? I really like One Click Lag Fix, I don't wanna get rid of it just for space reasons. I was just looking using Root Explorer and there are some massive files in /data/fota. What are they? I have 3 files, fota.status, (Size 36) and fota_delta_dp1 and fota_delta_dp2 both size 62914560. That seems like a lot, I'm guessing it's measured in bytes so that'd be 60 megabytes or so, so 120 total. Are they safe to remove, seems like the results from the over-the-air update.
