I use WiFi but the name is hidden, for some reasons.I manually put the name and the password, but the network is hidden HTC cannot find it and connect to it. I cannot connect manually because when I hit on the name of the connection there is only Forget button.
Is there another way to connect to this connection?

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.

I go to uOttawa and the network is a WPA authenticated with PEAP and MSCHAPv2. The network information is here (WPA Client). I have tried to setup the network and when it is all done the problem comes up that it won't connect to the network or I get a message saying network not within range.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI love my aria, i got it 9/29/10, for free from best buy because my contract expired... but ive already used 20MB and i only bought a 200MB plan... i might go to 2 gigs, but for an alternate, since my billing cycle ends the 28th of every month... if i disable application syncing, and mobile network from the hold menu... can i connect to my home wifi network, and go on the internet from there without that using any of my data plan?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a HTC Legend off ebay since it's not available in Australia but I'm having trouble with the wifi on my home network. It works on occasion but fails most of the time. Sometimes it won't connect at all and just says "unsuccessful" whereas other times it might tell me it's trying to obtain an ip address and then not work.
I've got two computers connected to my wifi as well so it's not my actual connection. Is there such thing as devices competing for wifi? because the few times it's worked was when I was changing my computer's wifi but it sometimes doesn't work even with my computer off!
My legend cant connect to the router at our home. It keeps asking for the password. When I type it en press connect it only gives a notion that it can't connect to the network. I have tried standing next to it or a couple of feet away but it doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell i have bought 2 month ago new, sim free Legend. After that i had like 2 firmware updates,and well after the second one i cant get wifi working. Its like "unable to start wifi" and after that i cant switch this process off, it shows "unable to turn wifi off". So to get rid of this i need to restart phone. So now i cant use wifi. I cant even turn off wifi notification, i don't see MAC address etc. Are there ways to fix that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've only just noticed an issue that after disconnecting from wifi my phone doesn't automatically go back to 3G/2G.
I have to turn the wifi back on and when it can't find one only then does it decide to connect to 3G/2G.
Didn't have this issue before and I'm thinking the latest update (1.31.405.5) has something to do with it.
Anybody else having similar issues?
BTW I'm on the vodafone UK network.
I have an android application using LocationManager get the cell network location and not the Wifi location? If I have turned off the Wifi antenna and do the following:LocationManager lm = (LocationManager) paramContext.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);I am always returned the Wifi location and not the cell network location. I want it to return the cell location since I have moved fromthe Wifi location. I tried using a LocationListener but that doesn't seem to help.

It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

He received it today.He had an Evo before the epic and never had this issue. the issue he's having is, obviously he doesn't pick up sprint service out in iraq, but with his evo he was able to pick up wifi and connect to google talk, qik, etc.his epic is allowing him to connect to a wifi signal, but it won't allow him to connect to google talk, qik, etc. it keeps saying "can't connect to server". like i said, he never had this issue with the evo.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my desire for around a month now & had no real problems with it, flashed it with a stock ROM initially & then rooted it a couple of days after the root was released. When I woke up this morning I was connected to my WiFi network but when I tried to load a webpage, nothing happens, it comes up with the stock 'Web page not available' page. I tried a couple of web pages but got the same response, I thought it might be my WiFi network but when I got to work, exactly the same thing happens. I can connect via GPRS when I disable the WiFi with no problem. I've been using Y5 Battery Saver for the past two weeks, not sure if that's relevant. Is this a standard error / known bug, how would I go about fixing this, not having WiFi is obviously a bit of pain!
OK, installed a Terminal emulator over 3G & ran a couple of commands, including dmesg. From the output of dmesg it looks like the WiFi connects but then something goes wrong, here's a brief transcript:

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is my first Android phone so I might just not know what I am doing. At work we have an open wi-fi network for patients and visitors to connect to. When they connect for the first time they are automatically re-directed to a sign on page where they must provide their e-mail address. After that they are free to use wireless internet services. My EVO will not re-direct to the page. When I tried it on a friends iPhone it worked just fine. My phone has not been rooted and i have tried both the default browser and two that I downloaded from the market. The phone is connecting to the WiFi and getting a strong signal.

Is there an app I can use that will - perhaps in conjunction with Locale so it only runs when I'm in the office - periodically check if our wi-fi connection is up and running?
