HTC Legend : Ringtone Not Working While In Pocket?

I emailed HTC about a request for an option to turn off the feature to disable your ringtone while the handset is face down. This would affect not being able to hear the ringtone while in your pocket, defeating the purpose of a cell phone and not being able to hear incoming calls. I'm Dakota, and I will be glad to assist you today I understand how frustrating it can be when your HTC Device is not able to ring when laying face down. The complication you have received from your HTC Legend will be addressed with the FOTA Update. No information has been released on when the update will be released. Please wait patiently for the update to be released to address this complication on your HTC Legend. You will receive a notification on your Legend letting you know when the update is available. Go on your device to Home, Menu, Settings, About Phone, System Updates, and check for the update when available. Unfortunately there are no other settings HTC is able to offer to resolve this concern until the update is received. My EVO has been answering phone calls in my pocket. I've even "butt dialed" a couple of people when I forgot to turn of the screen before sticking it in the pocket.
If I forget to turn off the screen, that's my fault, but the screen turns itself on when the phone rings.
How the heck is a capacitive screen working through fabric, anyway?

Yesterday I was having fun trying out the secret codes (like *#*#4636#*#*) and tried out the touch screen code. Then clicked on update (firmware).
Then the touch was not working. I tried taking out battery and putting it back on. Tried factory reset after backing up data with Kies. Tried rooting the simplest way. Tried to flash using Odin with a recovery and pit file. Still nothing is working.

So recently I switched from an iPhone to the HTC Legend and I love it. But, I have encountered a problem. My 3G and H symbol are not appearing anymore. I haven't had internet service for about 2 days now. When I first received the phone it wasn't working either, but I messed around with the APN and it worked! Now, it has stopped. I have an ATT data plan if that matters, and the Legend is from Bell Canada.

I had reception issues on my Legend so vodafone sent me a new (well, pre-owned/refurbished) one today. I haven't had it long enough to test the reception issues but I am unable to bring the notification area at the top of the screen down by swiping my finger. I can click 'menu>notifications' from the homescreen and that brings it up but I can't swipe it down - most odd. Although I have seen it come down about 30 seconds after I swipe it on occasion. This was the case with the old firmware and still is with the new. I've done soft and hard resets and it's still the case. Everything else on the phone works perfectly as far as I can see.

Anyone get the stock HTC tethering function to work? I installed the latest sync software from HTC, and my phone works great with sync and SD card up/download. But when I want to connect my computer to the internet via the phone I turn on network sharing and see the phone listed in network connections but it just says "acquiring network address" forever and I dont seem to be able to connect. I'm on an unbranded legend bought and used in Taiwan, unlimited 3G, Windows xp sp3.

ok so picked up my HTC Legend and I'm happy thus far. However a few things are confusing me...
I installed a couple of live wallpapers. however I cannot for the life of me get them running on the phone. It wont let me open them or anything, so not sure If i need some sort of tool or app to run these.
Secondly... any ideas where i can get the voicesearch.apk? desperate to get uber keyboard working.

Not sure if I'm being thick and missing something but. I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.

I set a ringdroid custom ringtone for my wife's phone calls. A few times in the last week, her call will not activate that ringtone, instead just ringing the default. Also, the last call didn't even have her Caller ID or photo... just the phone number... it's like it didn't recognize she was a contact at all? The only thing I can think of was I was using the music player when she called... is is possibly the "cut-in" that caused the disconnect? Don't know, but I've tried to duplicate it, and it reverts back to "normal" every time I try.

I programmed (in the "Settings") to have a custom ringtone (the Kimmunicator ringtone for Kim Possible) for notifications. However, it only vibrates when I get a text message. Also, the sounds only happens at random times, when I have NO notifications. It really bothers me. I want my Droid to give off the notification ringtone only when I have notifications, not when I don't have them.

I just updated my Legend, it said it was to do with the camera. It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.

Recently Ive been noticing that when my phone is in standby mode, that it powers off. Usually a quick press of the power button brings the screen up, instead recently the phone reboots or powers up.

Cracked the screen! It only fell from my lap onto the centre console of the car, I have made it noticeable in the photo but you can hardly see it when the backlight is on. I will fix it soon, but I'll need a detailed guide on how to do it, I have seen some forums on how to do it but it doesn't seem that easy. I'll need a digitizer from fleebay & some tools, unless someone on the forums can do it?

I am pleased with the Legend, but at times things come up that confuse me somewhat. Recently a friend and I were taking photos and I thought it would be interesting to compare camera quality of her BB Curve 8900 with my HTC Legend. Below are the photos.

Does the stock "Camcorder" app shoot HD, or do I need another app. Is it even possible with the camera in the HTC Legend. Since it's 5MP, same as iPhone 4, which can also shoot HD, so I'm hoping yes?

I have a Sony-Ericsson Bluetooth headset which I used for several years with my previous phone. I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?
