HTC Incredible :: Quiet Ring On Pick Up?
May 12, 2010Anybody got any reasons not to use this mode? I'm wondering if you'll miss calls while walking with the phone in a pocket because it quiets the ring based on movement.

HTC Incredible :: Quick One Press Button For Ring Vibrate Ring Phone Only Silent
Jun 15, 2010I miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

Apr 27, 2010My phone was shipped out yesterday morning and is set to be delivered tomorrow sometime. but right now its in oakland, about 35-40 minutes from my house, taunting me. im really thinking about picking it up myself, but i cant figure out how to find which office its in or where the office is located. a quick google search for fedex office in oakland only brought up the fedex print & ship centers, and a few that just say fedex and one fedex express. anyone know what office it might be at?

Aug 24, 2010Google voice has been sort of flaky for me since I started using it.
I use my old number, and I only use google voice for voicemail, I have it set up on my phone and in google voice.
Sometimes if I decline a call they will get a verizon error message. And today out of boredom I called my cell phone from my work phone and it just rang...and rang...and rang....and rang...and voicemail never picked up. But then I got a notification from google voice that I had an 18 second long message which was completely silent. I did it again, same result.
I logged into google.com/voice and confirmed that my greeting is set up.
It's sad, because I love google voice. But if voicemail doesn't work then it has no value...I can't have people calling me hearing error messages or never getting to leave a message.

May 20, 2010Does anyone of an app that will allow you to pick a folder (either on the SD or Internal memory) to place Pics in. RIght now it is all over the board depending on how the pictured was procured, IE: camera photo, email, MMS.

Oct 3, 2010My desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?

Jul 15, 2010I picked up my Droid X this morning and coming from my old Storm I'm really liking it. My only real complaint is that the volume of the ringer is way to low. I've already turned it up all of the way in settings but is there an app or something that could make it any louder? I use my phone as an alarm clock and I'm a fairly heavy sleeper so this is almost a make or break feature.

Nov 1, 2008So is the audio quality crappy and too quiet or is it just me? I tried listening to music using the included headphones yesterday on a plane, and I could barely hear the audio. I ended up switching to my iPod, which I had hoped my G1 would replace. Has anyone used the G1 with different (i.e. better) headphones, and what were your results? (I know the headphone jack is proprietary, but I'm hoping with better headphones/earbuds and a USB to 3.5mm converter I can sqeeze better quality and volume from the G1. We'll see.)

Oct 29, 2010I'm planning a solo camping trip for a week. Is there a way to make my htc incredible go into a mode where it only receives texts or phone calls from one person?
So: no email, news, weather, other texts, other voicemails, app updates...
I'm thinking it should be called Retreat Mode or Weekend Mode
I still want to have to phone on so my wife can reach me if she wants to but so I don't feel like I need to leave it behind or turn it off to avoid the other distractions. And I don't want a 2nd cell phone just for that purpose. maybe it's a long tasker script?
HTC Incredible : Different Ring Types Per Contact?
Apr 29, 2010Is there is a way or program that can let the phone ring when my girlfriend calls but keep it on silent for everyone else.
I just moved from a Blackberry and I was able to do it on those phones I see you can have different ring tones per contact. However I sleep during the day (work nights) and i put my phone on silent but on my blackberry i could have a profile set for only my girlfriend and my phone would ring no matter if i had it on silent or not.
Is this possible on a droid?
Id really hate to have my phone going off all day long just so i would be able to hear my girlfriend call.

Apr 13, 2010It's that little "tick" sound you hear when you press an icon on the home page, or hit something on a menu, or click a link, etc. Mine is suddenly about 1/3 the volume it used to be. I checked the settings and I can turn it off in Sounds & Display...Audible Selection but I don't see any adjustment for the volume of it.
The only thing new in the past few days is that I got both the desk dock and car dock (the "quiet tick" problem is when it's not docked though).
Rebooted with no luck.
HTC Desire : Volume Is So Quiet - When I Make - Receive A Call
Aug 27, 2010I live in Canada and after months of eagerly waiting, I finally got my paws on the HTC Desire from Telus (network provider). After having it for a little over 2 weeks now I've got nothing, but good things to say about the overall performance of the device except for the Call Volume!!! When I make a call or receive a call the Volume is so quiet I can almost never hear the person on the other end.
Have any of you had this issue or found a way to correct it? I've seen it commonly talked about on some other threads, but so far nothing on this site. Please tell me I'm not alone in this.
Edit: I should add that yes I have the call volume maxed and I have no issues with the Speakers when playing Music or Videos. Just Call Volume during Calls.
HTC Incredible :: Not Ring When Receive Incoming Call
May 5, 2010My phone will sometimes not ring at all when I receive an incoming call. It will be waiting for me to pickup, but nothing will be coming out of the speakers. Also, sometimes when someone calls it rings and rings on their end and go to my voice mail, but my phone will not even register that they called. Oh, and it randomly revolted once or twice just sitting there. I am probably going to exchange my phone, but I wanted to see if that is the best course of action.

Apr 29, 2010I have my default ring tone set. I then went under contacts and set certain ring tones for my wife, family etc... I had my wife call me and it rings with the default ring tone. I have tried everything and nothing seems to change. Anyone that calls that I have a preset ring tone for, it just uses the default for the phone.

I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. Next, the phone will randomly change my ringtone. Next, the Sense clock/weather widget displays a location that I don't even live in, and sometimes it will show just a number. May 4, 2010My Incredible rings when there's a visible screen. When the screen darkens and phone enters sleep after, in my case 1 minute of non-use, any calls coming in do not ring through. Voicemail picks them up but there is no indication that I have an incoming call unless I wake the phone up and check the upper left hand menu for the voicemail icon. This can't be set up right. When the phone is asleep (dark screen) but not powered off, there has got to be a setting that lets calls ring through and awaken the phone so it can be answered.

Oct 27, 2013I'm on Virgin Mobile, LB Optimus F3 4G LTE (it wasn't an option in the forums, so I came here instead). Not sure if this is an Android feature or an LG feature.
Anyway, this thing called "Quiet Mode" will randomly turn itself on at nighttime or in the middle of the day with no warning and silence all sounds and block calls from all contacts. This is obviously frustrating. I'm not bumping it in my pocket or anything -- you can't even turn this mode on without unlocking the screen and scrolling all the way over in my top pull-down bar. For instance, it's been sitting on the chair next to me for the last two hours and I just checked it and it's been in Quiet Mode for who knows how long.
I can add contacts to the allowed calls list, but I still won't hear the ring, and I can only add a limited number of contacts. Also, all the writing within this mode is really poor English, which is odd. Example: "Please mind that incoming calls with exactly the same numbers with below list will only be allowed." Anyway, it can be scheduled for certain times and I'm going to try scheduling it for just one minute from 4:00 - 4:01 AM every night and see if that satiate its compulsion to be in control.
Any ways I can keep it from doing this otherwise? It doesn't appear to be an app that I can fiddle with.

But what is it right way to use it in my application? File IO Manager must be installed on the phone while my application could use their nice intents. So, what should I do:
1. Ask user to install File IO Manager.
2. Build File IO in my application
3. Build in the installation of my application installation of File IO Manager
4. some other way.
