I am using the HTC Clock widget that also shows the weather (default widget on home page) but it doesnt update the location or weather. I have turned off GPS and background sync to save battery and I am assuming this is the reason why it isn't updating. Can someone confirm this is the reason? BTW I absolutely love the phone!

Over the past few days (since I downloaded the software update I think) my location on the weather app is not updating. Anyone else experienced that/any ideas. On Voda with Auto sync on.

When i look in "Manage Applications" it shows

I have a debranded Desire running the updated radio rom (the one that restores the broken wifi)
Can anyone recommend a weather widget that displays the current weather based on location? Preferably cell tower info instead of gps and one that only used data every set interval based on my settings so that it doesn't use data constantly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.

Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
I have the new Droid X but I love the Weather app that came on his phone, how it updates his location as he moves about as well as the weather updates. This would be greatly beneficial to me as I travel all day and work outside. Anyone know of a weather widget that does this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter the phone has been in hibernation mode for a while, when I bring it back up, my weather, and sometimes location is not updated. This just started happening a few days ago, and the only thing I can think of is that an app I installed in the last few days may be conflicting with it. I have read some posts from people with similar problems that can't get it to work at all. Mine will display the correct weather conditions and location if I hit the refresh button. I have had the phone almost a month, and up until a few days ago, it did everything automatically. I have not removed any components or applications.

I go into Menu>Setting>Update automatically, click on the box, then get the Data warning "this may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data"
Click on YES
then I back out, and go back in to the setting, and the box is UNCHECKED again.
It's not holding the update yes setting.
I'm using the standard weather app and it's not updating. Currently it's cloudy and 57 degrees by my computer and the news. My phone says 72 and sunny. I've updated the weather and it still shows the same. What's up?

I have manually set my location and each time i want the weather to update i have to go in settings, choose auto-location, then set location manually again, then press back and now it updates.
I'm running Omega v40 with stock kernel and have tried with other roms aswell.
anyone else having issues w/ latitude not updating? my friend and i both have incredibles, but my friends location will not update. if he hides the location and turns it back on, it will update on my phone. but, it's not updating when i hit the refresh button on my incredible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI dunno what setting I tweaked or killed, but the temperature hasn't updated in a few hours though I have it set to update every 15 minutes. I checked a bunch of settings all around but can't seem to find out what's going on. Any advice?
Also is there a way for the widget (beautiful smaller home) to source weather data from the stock htc weather app? I thought I had it selected to launch weather when I tap the weather info in the widget, but that still launches the beautiful weather screen. Conversely when I tap the date and time I'm taken to the respective stock apps like I want.
Recent quirk - my Eris all of a sudden insists that the sun is shining at 9:30 PM, and conversely that the moon is out at 8:00 AM (times approximate). I go into the main weather screen, it updates, looks fine, I go back to the home screen, still way off. Eventually it does "match" -right now, 1:50 PM, the Eris says "intermittent clouds" and looking out the window what bits of sky I can see are mostly cloudy. But it is a bit disconcerting to be sitting at the baseball game, pull out the Eris to check the time, and have a nice happy sun staring at me when it is way past sundown.

I noticed it after the update HTC sent out (don't know if they are connected, just trying to give all the facts). I have stopped and started the Incredible, activated and re-activated the widget numerous times.
After going into settings and turning on auto updates I can back out and go back in and it is not checked. I can't get it to activate and stick.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple days, it seems like my Weather Channel app hasn't been working properly. When I move to the home screen that has the widget, it will be displaying the wrong temperature and picture (i.e. it might be showing "partly sunny" when it's night time). It just shows the temperature for the last time I opened the app.So, I click on the widget to open the app, and it brings me to one of the screens and it just says "N/A", while a green circle rotates in the upper-right corner. After a few seconds, it finally updates and shows me the current temperature/forecast (whichever screen I was in last).I've never had these problems before, up until the past few days. Usually I would just move over to my other home screen, look at the temp, and move back. It would always be [somewhat] updated by itself (usually every 30-60 minutes it seemed). Now it doesn't update until I actually open the app.Any ideas or suggestions? Or is anyone else having this problem? I am using the Droid Eris. I restarted the phone yesterday, still doing the same thing.

When I tap the widget to view my home city in the app there is no weather data - just a big N/A at the top of the screen. It will not update again until I reboot the phone. My other cities are always still updating. Only my home city is fried.This happens about once a day- anything I can clear out in the phone that might help? Uninstall and reinstall the weather channel app?

I click on the widget and bring up the settings and check the "Update Automatically" I get a "Data Warning"- This may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data? and I click yes. Yet it wont save and it keeps coming unchecked after I exit the widget. I even tried hitting now and I tried a soft reset.

I have the stock News/Weather widget on my main screen and when I try to Use my Location setting, the weather widget displays No Weather Location Available. I tried turning on my gps and wifi but it still doesn't work. The news part updates fine its just the weather that is not working. It was working for a month and then it stopped working. Anyone know a fix for this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two EVOs at home (mine and the wifes) and both have the same problem, the weather app is set to use the gps location yet it returns the wrong location. The location isn't just off a little bit either, it reports our location as being a city over 160 miles away. I find sometimes the gps reports the location wrong in the maps as well. Is there a way to calibrate the how, and is anyone else experiencing this issue? It doesn't seem to be signal problem as I am in a strong 4g location and when off of 4g always on 3g.

I have added a second location that is my location, but as "#2" it isn't the one that shows on my main screen. I can see a button to "rearrange", but it is grayed out. When I hit the delete button, my only option to delete is the #2 location that I added. How can I edit or delete the #1 location?

Maybe according to the network location I am in that town but when I go to maps and it uses GPS it realizes the proper city. The weather app often makes this mistake. I thought when I setup my device it may have asked if I want to use GPS or just network location for something but I can't find that setting anymore. Any ideas on how to get more accurate current location for the weather widget?
