So it's happened about 4 times this morning already. I get the sound of a notification, but nothings there when I turn on the phone. Has anyone else experienced this?

Is there such a thing as an app that plays a custom notification sound (mp3) chosen at random from a group of sounds? For example, if I have several different mp3 sound bytes of different people saying "You've got mail", is there an app that will randomly choose one of those sounds to play whenever I get mail?
(I've got a great notification mp3 right now but I could see it getting annoying to hear over and over again, so I'd love it if it was different from time to time)
Is there a app that plays random sounds from my phone with having any notifications? I just want to have a playlist of sounds that randomly play when i'm walking around.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've done a bunch of searching on google and elsewhere on this in the past but have not seem to have found anything on the topic, but it came back on my mind today after making a call.
Almost [anytime?] I am speaking on the phone [with anyone?] I will intermittently get a "touch tone" sound blasted in my ear randomly. At first I thought it may have been because my ear/face was hitting a button on the screen, but this happens even when the keypad is hidden. The other odd thing is that it only seems to happen on MY end, the caller on the other end will *NEVER* hear it when I have asked.
I *do* use google voice for all my calls. I do not know if this happens outside of GV or if it has anything to do with it. Any ideas why this could be, or has anyone run into this issue?
Today it was in my mind because it was happening a LOT (every minute or so) when I was talking to one of my friends. I never took note about it happening more often with her vs. other people or not [honestly, I don't use TALK so much on my phone] but we had a longer conversation today and it kept happening randomly.
It's definitely coming through the headset and not out of the speaker (ie: it will drown out the voice on the other end), and I did disable all touch-tone sounds on the phone. It is the sound you would receive through a regular phone system through the headset, not a chinsy "beep" or something the phone itself would make, it's coming across the "line" but again only I am hearing it.
Is there an app that would allow me to program different sounds for each different notification? For example I want a new email to have one sound, while a new sms to have another, and for the locale updater to be on silent/vibrate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed this morning that my alarm didn't make a sound when it went off this morning. Fortunately it was set to vibrate and I heard that. I than noticed it didn't ring when I received a call. I had my GF send me a txt and no sound with that either. When I go into setting to change my ringtone none of them play. The volume button beeps when I hit it and I other apps that play sounds are working fine.

Love the droid but (especially when charging) I'm missing a lot of alerts and the indicator light is overridden by the charging status.

Is that even possible - to use your own sounds for notifications? If so, I wonder what the best way would be to get that sound on the Eris, and keep the fidelity.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of the HTC Hero and I tried to customize the ring tones and alarm sounds by using the directions provided by leaky on the tread "HTC Hero: Tips, Tricks & Useful Apps" but unfortunately this did not work out for my Hero. My SD card appeared as DCIM and I had to rename it to SD card and then on the MEDIA folder I added an AUDIO folder in which I added three separate files. One named ring tones, one named alarms and on named notifications as directions provided by thread. Then I added the appropriate .mp3 files to each folder while having the Hero plugged in with my PC.

Now how do i set one of those (.wav files) as a text message sound? Just figured it out. My ringer for my phone works and I made sure the notification, ringer and media volumes are all set to high. The speaker is working because when I hit the volume rocker it makes a beep. I feel silly asking for this but it just stopped ringing and I don't know how to get it back.

However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I went to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, and I started going through the list and pushing the "Clear Cache" button. I pushed in on "Settings" and then the screen cleared and went back to my home screen, where the background was some random picture I've never seen before. It didn't recognize my memory card for me to change the picture, so I had to take it out and put it back in. Now, all of my notification sounds are this random song, and when I go to change the notification sound (for gmail or text messages), there are only the ones I have created in the options list; all of the original sounds that were on the phone before are completely gone!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm dialing in my Droid 2, which is replacing my previous Blackberry Tour. I am importing all my audio files for ringtones, notifications, and alarms.
I have done the following:
Connected my phone to my computer
Mounted my SD card
Created a Media folder on the card
Created an Audio sub-folder within Media
Created Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, and MP3s folders within Audio
My custom ringtones show up when I'm selecting them in Settings, and RingDroid also shows all of my files (currently placed in Ringtones and Notifications). However, if I go to my GMail app and settings, when I go to select a custom notification ringtone, only the ones that shipped with the Droid 2 show up. I also checked Settings, and no custom notification sounds come up.
I just switched to the inc so i of course no longer have the default notification sounds that came with the moto droid. i always used the kubar sound, and i really miss it. is there any way for anyone to record this or copy this somehow and send it to me so i can use it for my notification sound again?

If you go to messages - menu - settings then notification sounds it only lists the ones in the handset. How does one apply a downloaded sound.
