So I try and install the zip off of my sd card and i keep getting an error

I have 2.1 stock and I don't really want to clear everything for 2.2 (can I upgrade like an OTA to 2.2?) so I want to install a hydra kernal for better battery life. The 2.15 radio update wouldnt stick on my phone for some reason, and 0.5 or 1.0 hydra kernals won't work with 1.0 radio. Is there a hydra version that will?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI set up Virtuous 2.6 (was running CMod 6.0.2 but it was restarting, even with the default kernel) this morning and have had this problem with Seesmic and Google Voice in Market where it downloads and then the progress bar goes away and the only button is Cancel download. But I can go into Astro /mnt/sdcard/download and there's Download.apk that is the file downloaded from Market. I was able to install both Seesmic and GV that way but neither are registered in Market, and running Market Doctor in Titanium Backup does not do the trick either.Any ideas on what the issue might be? I'd prefer to stay on Virtuous but not if this keeps happening.

I am not getting great battery life as of right now and am hoping that someone can suggest a new Kernal to help with this. I've read that KingKernal #4 can help with battery life, is this compatible with the rom that I am currently using?

I am using it and my phone seems to run much much cooler. Haven't really tested battery life yet, but it seems better.
Is there anyway to tell that my phone is actually running at the 1.15 overclock? Also how could I tell that it is under clocked when idle? I just want to make sure things are working smoothly.

I use wifi tethering alot for my ipad(don't flame to much on that) but the wifi tethering kept me from having to buy a 3g ipad and kept me away from AT&T.
So my question is what is the best kernal to use that supports wifi tethering? Without breaking GPS or BT audio?
Every time it begins the download, It will go to the download screen and then the word "error" appears no matter what kind a file it is. I'm using Skyraider RC3 for Sense using it's default Kernal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to install Android 2.0 platform via Android SDK and AVD Manager. In "Available Packages" I chosen to install "SDK Platform Android 2.0, API 5, revision 1". The Manager started to download data. After download was fininshed I got message "SSL peer shut down incorrectly". In the header there was a message "Nothing was installed". Any idea what is wrong? As far as know my friend also failed to install Platform 2.0 and he had the same messages in the Manager.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an el-cheapo chinese 7" tablet with an Allwiner A20 dual core processor, which I bought off eBay (about tablet read "Wing", but that's about all I can remember).
It has a 512mb RAM and 4gb internal storage. I also have a 32gb TF card.
I thought (for some reason) that putting ClockWork Mod on would be a good idea, if I wanted to flash something like Ubuntu Touch, or CyanogenMod.Unfortunately, I hadn't reallised that the version of Clockwork Mod was not appropriate for this device, and booted to recovery.Needless to say, it didn't even make it that far... It'll only go as far as the very first logo, and no further.
Edit / Update:
As an update to the below problem, I found the exact action which causes it to happen.
Download an apk from a url through the android browser
Install the app.
After install, the app gives you two choices: "Open" or "Done".
If you choose "Open", the quirky behavior described below starts.
If you choose "Done", then launch the app from the app tray, it works fine.
So it seems like this problem is caused by using the "Open" button the browser provides you after installing the APK.
I'm experiencing an error in the history stack of applications upon first install. I made a test app to demonstrate this.
The test app is simply two activities, A and B. Activity A launches B. That's all it does. Rest is wizard generated template code from eclipse.
When the user installs the app (via web url apk), and runs it for the first time, I get an out-of-order activity stack:
-User starts the app, A is on top.
-They make A launch B by clicking a button. B is on top of the stack.
-User hits the home screen button.
-User returns to the app, A is displayed, instead of B.
-User hits the back key, B is shown!
-User hits the back key again, A is shown!
-User hits the back key again, home screen shown.
-Now the stack is clean, and app behaves "normally" from now on!
Is any one else seeing this? This is almost exactly like this known bug, however my users are not installing from eclipse:

I can provide the test app/source if anyone wants to try. This is the manifest, which does not have any special customizations made to it. code...
as far as I know, this should definitely not be happening, and works fine after you clear the history stack the first time.
I reply to an SMS, the message will go to someone else in my current conversations list. If I look at the thread, it shows the correct recipient, but it is def not going to the right person. This has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It could be a really big problem if you are texting personal/private/sensitive information. I use the app: SMS popup. I wonder if this could be the issue.

I will send a text to someone and a completely different person will recieve my text. It happened on my original Droid after a few months as well. Ive double checked everytime, and no im not accidentally choosing th wrong person. For instance if i send a text to Jenn (it has her name, her picture and number) but after being sent ill long press the message and it shows someone elses number. Verizon is not being very helpful and its starting to get annoying. Has anyone had this issue as well?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having issues with texts going to the wrong person? I replied to some texts from my buddies and then my GF would reply back asking what i meant. I look through the text history and it appears it was sent to the correct person. Now i am scared to text anyone knowing that it could be sent to the wrong people.
And sometimes when i try to reply to a text it says i need to add a recipient.
I am thinking there is something wrong with the texting on this phone. I got my replacement phone yesterday and the same thing happened.
I had stock froyo installed then installed Unrevoked 3.21 to root my dinc but when I ran it, it just got stuck at "Pushing Recovery..." So I soon realized that I didn't have it set to "Charge only" So I changed that then ran Unrevoked again and it proceeded very quickly. It restarted my phone once but "Charge only" WAS NOT set as the default option :/ so Unrevoked then got stuck at "Running root..." So I attempted to change it back to "Charge only" again but Unrevoked never proceeded so I exited out of Unrevoked and restarted Unrevoked after I changed the default on the dinc... However, now Unrevoked is stuck at "Pushing recovery..." again... It will not get passed that no matter what. What do I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone couldn't update from 2.1 to 2.2 because i used the unrevoked method of rooting. in order for me to get 2.2 i updated my phone with the pc36img.zip file and then rooted again with unrevoked.Now when I'm trying update from 2.2 with the new 3.29.651.5 update, the phone will have the triangle with a exclamation point.Any ideas?

On the Belt parkway west in Brooklyn right after the Gowanas Canal - specifically while driving the GPS thinks I'm on the streets rather than the highway? As in it thinks I'm on 3rd avenue but I'm actually on the highway. It keeps telling me to turn left and right when I'm on the highway going straight. Everything else works right but the GPS has been a little off.
