Oct 19, 2010I have lost all of my progress 2 times now, and its really a downer.
besides a full backup, how can i create a restore file for just the one app? Or is there another way?

Just got done getting Third Wave the way I like it. Made a backup and am now flashing Skyraider vanilla (Came from Moto Droid) and I am pumped! I will probably miss sense and go back but I love all the options! I do miss being able to just restore data with nandroid backups on droid. Made flashing so easy. I am afraid to try this with the Inc. Anyone do this ever?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI do not see any provided way to do Data and Application and UI backups.
Is there something I missed?
I am use to the blackberry which allows for backup of everything in case you lose or kill your phone.
I see you can buy RerWare MyBackup and MyBackup Pro. Does it do the job?
Any other better free tools?
When I try to recover my apps using Titanium Backup's "Extract from Nandroid" feature, it says "Could not find any data in this TWRP backup"
The files in my TWRP backup folder are
data.ext4.win000
data.ext4.win001
data.ext4.win002
md5 for the above
recover.log
I have titanium backup pro. I want to know can I backup only apps data? I mean when titanium backup pro performs backing up are there any option to excludes apk file backup and only backup apps data?
I think it's useless backup apk files, I can download them from Google play store.
how can do a backup of data usage on ics with titanium backup? because if I change roms with full wipe I lost all saved data.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI DLed Titanium Backup, but it wasn't obtaining root access. I read here that I probably need to update to a newer version of BB. After a bit of a fight, I finally managed to get BB 0.4 onto my Droid. I figured I was safe b/c I have Lookout, which also backs up data. Yeah, it backs up contacts and pix, that's it. So here I am w/ a nice, shiny new rom, and a completely wiped phone.
Now, I know my old info is still there. I know I could just recover into my last version. But then I wouldn't be on this rom. Is there any way for me to get that info on here, or do I have to do everything manual? Or could I restore the old version, and not need to do a wipe when flashing the new rom?
Man, no matter what I good I start to feel about myself w/ what I've already learned from you guys, I'm quickly reminded that I'm barely scratching the surface.
I am having two different data in two different adapters.
Now i want to merge both data in a single adapter.
is this possible?
How can I do that?
I have two files, one called "part1.txt" and another one called "part2.txt", which look like following
part1.txt part2.txt
lili like eating apple
lucy like playing football
Now i want to insert the contents of these two files into a single table with the schema
table_name(linefrompart1 varchar(100), linefrompart2 varchar(50))
My program reads the first file line by line and insert the data into the first column. But if it reads the second file and tries to insert the data line by line into the second column, it doesn't work the way i want. A table which i want should look like following
linefrompart1 linefrompart2
lili like eating apple
lucy like playing football
But instead i got the following table
linefrompart1 linefrompart2
lili null
lucy null
null like eating apple
null like playing football
Does somebody know how i can fix this problem?
Im trying to do the backing up of my application's data into the Google Servers.. For doing this i've implemented a BackupAgent in my code and i included this in the Android Manifest file and "Meta-data" ( Got after registered my Application's package with the Android Backup Service.) When i run the application to do the backup this is not performing the backup.. Im using Nexus one device(connected to WIFI also). why it is not calling my BackupAgent's onBackup() method?? Am i missing some thing, to include in the Android manifest file or some where in the program?

Anyone else seeing the same issues? (or am I just being too needy?)I had assumed this was a standard android function.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Eclipse Juno and I'm working on an app with that.
The main activity will have a scrollable menu that takes you to all the other activities.
So the general structure/outline right now:[HIGH]Relative Layout ImageView (header logo type thing) ListView (the actual scrollable menu)[/HIGH]Here's the problem though... I can't find any simple list tutorials. I can easily make a single line list work but I need to make a two line list and one that is static, not dynamic and no examples are out there for that. It's like if you want to make a 2 line list, you can only learn how to do it in the most code-heavy ridiculous way possible.
Essentially what I am looking for with the list is this: Item one: Centred, bold, non selectable title (Resources)
- Item two-??: two line list items, click-able to a new activity, title of the section on first line, description on the second line.
- Item ??: Centred, bold, non selectable title (Tools)
- Item ??-??: two line list items, click-able to a new activity, title of the section on first line, description on the second line.
Nothing dynamic that is ever going to change, no super complex wonkey calculations, just to simply have the data set in stone (preferably via XML) and to call it into the list.
I experimented with some of the other list views and no matter what I did, I could get, via editing the resources and NOT using Java, more that one item on a single line but it wouldn't format it properly according to the layout I guess because I haven't got the ID correct or whatever I don't know.
I mean, all the examples I've seen for a 2 line list are extraordinarily over-coded and just bloated. I mean I have a website I am still working on in C#/ASP.net that has far more complex things in it with half the code that I've seen for the examples of the two line lists.
I tried on my own to figure it out (I am decent with C# and vaguely familiar with Java, self taught, and programming for some other systems like Python, again all self-taught), but like ALL coding references, they're organised by the actual code you implement (that you don't know) instead of by what you want it to do (so you have to search the whole code base to find something that you don't know what it's called but know what it does). >:C
I set up HTC sync and Facebook and all that jazz. However, there are a few people in my Facebook Contacts list that I don't really want to have in my contacts list.
I don't dislike them to the point where I'd want to un-friend them on facebook, but I don't really want their number to be in my phone.
Does anybody know any way to delete a single facebook contact from your phone? Click and hold doesn't work, going to their "people" tab doesn't work, I can't figure it out...
I don't want to add the Favorite's tool aka People Widget. I want to add a single contact to one of the pages. I had my boyfriend on one, but I wanted to move it to another page, and I accidentally deleted the icon (he's still in my People contact list). But I can't figure out how to add just ONE contact to the desktop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery damn picture I get, I have to make sure to look at it fast before 2 seconds end and the damn picture disappears, because for some reason, HTC decided slideshow view for all their damn picture messages was a good idea. Pressing the pause button doesn't work at all, as it just turns the screen black for whatever freakin reason.

Problem is, I am getting two notifications every time I receive a text.I referenced this thread:Multiple notifications when receiving text..Saw the guy had reverted back to the default message program.That is not what I'm looking to do.Want to keep the third party program, I just don't know how to get the dual notifications to stop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet me start out by saying that I feel like there should be a very simple way to do this, and it's entirely possible I'm missing something very simple. But all the examples I find for transition animations (push left out, push right in, etc.) deal with moving from one view to another. What about an application that only has one view, but dynamically changes the data feeding that view? The best common example of this is the base calendar app. It has identical views, but when you swipe forward or backward the date of the view transitions with a swipe animation. How do I reproduce this? Surely I don't have to inflate ViewFlippers for the same view? And if so, what is the best way to go about this?

I am implementing the new BackupAgentHelper from android 2.2. For it to work you need to supply the name of the SharedPreferences that you want to backup:
public class MyPrefsBackupAgent extends BackupAgentHelper {
// The name of the SharedPreferences file
static final String PREFS = "user_preferences";
// A key to uniquely identify the set of backup data
static final String PREFS_BACKUP_KEY = "prefs";
// Allocate a helper and add it to the backup agent
void onCreate() {
SharedPreferencesBackupHelper helper = new SharedPreferencesBackupHelper(this, PREFS);
addHelper(PREFS_BACKUP_KEY, helper); }}
Problem is I use the PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences() method in my application to get the default shared preferences instance. Now I need to supply the name of that file. How can I find out what name that is?
Rooted DInc then removed some apps like city id. I had purchased some apps before I rooted and I was curious as to first, how and where do I backup using titanium backup? Second, say if I factory reset my phone then put the paid apps back on would it still recognize that I already paid and still give new updates? Also side question, if I remove friendstream will facebook still sync with the facebook app and sync photos my phone book?
Any app to single delete notifications from the drop down menu. I'm running Verizon HTC incredible, cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1. Since cyanogenmod 7.1, we have been able to swipe notifications left and right to delete them, but it doesnt really work very well.
I then went to a friends house who had an at @ t Motorola Atrix, with I think droid 2.3.4 on it. My friends drop down menu had a minus button on the right of the notification to delete it. That is exactly what I'm looking for. Any app or some way to set this in my (Rooted) phone?
I need to send my phone back for repair (HTC Legend, vibrator is broken/wiggly).
I havent backup up a phone before so I will probably forget to mention some of the things that can (and must be) backed up.
The phone is not rooted btw.
My question is: What is the best way to back up as much data as possible without rooting my phone?
My main concern is my messages, settings, contacts etc.
How can I back up SMS? If I am not mistaken, other apps data can't be backed up yet (I believe this will only be available with Froyo).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Titanium Backup and it's impossible.
The reason I want to do this is because games' APK take a lot of place, and I already have them backed up on my PC. I just want their data to save my progress.
i'm looking for an app that allow to back up app data ONLY (like progress of game, setting,...)
i use titanium backup and it backs up app + data which is unnecessary and takes time, for example: you have a 100 MB game on your tablet, you want to back up the game progress, so you can upload to dropbox, on your phone you just need to download that data backup and continue playing on your phone,with titanium backup you have to backup all 100 MB of app + data and upload that 100 MB to dropbox and you waste your time and even money (if you're on 3G/4G)so is there any app that back up app data only? while titanium back up let you restore app + data or data only, i can't understand why it can't let you back up app data only, maybe the dev thinks people always back up everything, not just app data.
I backed up all apps and data then I uninstalled a few of them. Now I went to reinstall them and Titanium Back up says batch restore finished but the apps are not there. They are in the TB folder on the sd card but the app is not in the app list. How do I get them back? I did do a nandroid back up immediately after rooting will that restore them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to backup my application's data in Android Cloud's Storage. I have some questions regarding this,
1) To backup the data it needs Backup Transport. What will happen if the Backup Transport is not present on the Android device?
2) Will Android Backup Service provides any Backup Transport(if not available on the device) when the application get registered with the Android Backup Service?
3) How to store the data present in the SQLite database to Cloud's storage?
4) If i distribute my application to many users. In that case how the data backup will happen?? How the Android Backup Service will get the primary google account present on the device if it contains more than one google account?
HTC Holland advised me to do hard reset on my HTC Hero.They promised that I would get the android 2.1 update after reset (did not happen).Before the reset I downloaded MyBackup Pro first and I took the option of backing up my data and apps to my SD card.So now all my data and apps (including MyBackup) are zipped and stored on the SD.But how can I restore everything?I connected the phone to my laptop to get access to the memory card but I can't find out how to restore.How can I do this?
