Rooted running uncommonsense 1.0. So i got a message about a system up date. that said it was to up date VZ apps and slacker along with some bug fixes. it how ever was to low on power( about 40%) it need to be plugged in. when i finally plugged it in it sat at rebooting now... in defiantly. so i manually re started it. and have seen nothing of an up date.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a VZW subscriber. I currently use a Storm 2 (HATE IT). I have been waiting... and waiting for the N1. I have a friend that works in the higher ups of VZW (not retail). I was just giving him shit the other day about the N1 situation. He said, "you should just get the Incredible it has slight better specs and the optical mouse.". I then told him my dislike for Sense UI. He said, "well then just root it".Would there be any difference between a rooted N1 and a rooted Incredible? Wouldn't they then have the exact same OS? (Provided I was going to flash it with Cyanogen). Thusly I would have the same phone with better specs, if I got the Inc over the N1. Is this flawed thinking? Since the N1 is Googles phone and gets updates first. When you root and flash with a diff ROM, do you then not get updates? I'm guessing you would be reliant on the updates to that ROM which ever MOD you choose.

I saw a couple of posts saying they ordered one day and got it the next, despite the shipping delay message. I will be ordering my phone in a few hours and I really hope I get lucky and find it at my door in a few days.

When I set a date, Sense UI brings up a date scroller wheel, where I use a virtual wheel to select Month, Day, and Year. After setting the desired date, I hit OK, and I'm brought back to the previous screen (calendar or contact I'm setting a date for). The field then shows the date I set as being 1 day prior to the date I picked. However, when I save and come back, the date is fine.
Wish I could take a screen shot to make this easier to explain. Not a massive issue, but it gets confusing sometimes since I think I selected the wrong day.
If someone texts you late at night and your phone is off, when you turn your phone on the next morning you get the text and the date and time shows the time you boot up your phone. You would think it would have the actual date and time the peson sent the message. Am I missing something?

My question is - is there any hope of convincing vzw online sales or a store to extend the expiration date of the credit? I asked one online sales person and they said "no we can't do that for an online sale, but call a store, and they might be able to". So I called a store and they said "no when it comes in we won't be able to do that, but maybe online sales can". So is this a futile attempt? Should I wait until they are in stores on 4/29 and go in and talk to a manager? Or give up and pre-order now?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my wifi no longer connects to my home network automatically. I need to go in to the wireless settings then in to the wifi settings menu itself, where I'll see my network "Not in range-remembered" for a second and then it'll connect itself. It wasn't like this a few days ago, and I don't think this happens at the 2 other wireless networks I frequent, I'll try and remember to check tomorrow when I drop off my son at the in-laws.
I deleted the network and added it back in, still no auto connect. I rebooted the phone and it connected once, then after I turned off wifi and turned it back on, it went back to needing a manual connect, which it really isn't even that. It just doesnt want to connect unless I go in to the wifi settings.
3rd time this has happened a mp3 auto starts and it is the same mp3, The Police, "message in a bottle". The only way i could stop it from playing was to "unmount" my SD card. I have not played any mp3's on this phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to install a new rom, and make it a nice clean fresh install. I wipe the cache, I flash the rom. As soon as I log in with my gmail account during setup, the phone downloads all the apps I had and the wall paper and a bunch of other stuff.
I do not want it to do this. I really really want to restore what I want when I want. Thats why I bought Titanium Backup. Does anyone have any ideas on:
1. Why this happens,
2. How to make it stop?
My camera doesn't seem to focus since the update. When I touch the area I want it to focus on, it sounds like the lens is moving, but the image never changes and stays blurry. Anyone else having this issue?

What I do notice though, and it might just be in my head because I read the issues with the pink hue on the screens, is the following.When using the phone normally it looks great, the screen looks really nice. When you place the phone down and have the screen timeout set (I have mine set to one minute) a few seconds before it goes to sleep mode it dims the screen, and if I'm on my main home screen it looks fine, however, if I'm on a page where there is a lot of white like a white background, it seems as though the screen takes on a weird hue right before it shuts off. I wouldn't say it is a pink hue, but it is definitely a weird hue. It isn't that big of a deal because like I said, it only happens before the screen automatically times out. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, what are your settings (screen timeout time, is auto brightness on or off)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA while back I was looking through either the stock messaging app or Handcent and saw an option to auto reply to text messages, and you could change the text to make it say whatever you needed it to say. Today I tried looking for that option again and didn't find anything. I searched on the forum but only found other apps that I would need to install in order to do this. Hopefully someone knows what option I am talking about or uses it. If not, I can always use Tasker to do this, but prefer to use the messaging apps.Edit: So I found the answer about 30 seconds after posting this. I did play around with Friendstream, but I disabled it and took it off my home screen.
I have switched to the Incredible from the BB Storm. In my Storm, I set "u" to auto-correct to "you," "brb" to auto-correct to "be right back," etc. What apps are available that include this? I think Uber Dictionary does, but I'd like to find one that i can use with Swype.
