HTC Incredible :: Apps Auto Update

Oct 4, 2010

I'm trying to install a new rom, and make it a nice clean fresh install. I wipe the cache, I flash the rom. As soon as I log in with my gmail account during setup, the phone downloads all the apps I had and the wall paper and a bunch of other stuff.

I do not want it to do this. I really really want to restore what I want when I want. Thats why I bought Titanium Backup. Does anyone have any ideas on:

1. Why this happens,

2. How to make it stop?

Motorola Droid X :: Enabled Auto Matic Update For Market Apps Still Won't Auto Update

Sep 26, 2010

So one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 : Update For The Market That Includes An Auto Update Feature For Installed Apps

Oct 17, 2010

I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.

Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.

Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?

General :: Auto Update System Apps?

Oct 7, 2012

My current custom ROM includes Youtube v4.0.5. Market shows "installed" and latest avaliabvle is v4.1.23. An update isn't offered. Next I convert it into user app in TiBu. I go to the Youtube entry in market again, re-install and presto I have the shiny new Youtube. I assume the reason an update wasnt offered initially was because the app was a system app. So this makes me wonder if there's any automated solution that scans through systems apps and checks if an updated version is avaliable? I'm aware of the risks involved and I keep backups.

If i stop the update and just manually update the app it will download and install just fine. It is kinda weird that it will not download automatically. It even tells me it found updates. HTC Incredible : Stop Google Auto Restore Of Apps

Sometimes, well actually a lot of the time, when I flash a new ROM after wiping down the entire phone I find that after signing into Google in the beginning stages of the activation that suddenly apps begin appearing.

I've found that if I skip the Google integration setup until after the initial process is completed the apps don't auto restore.

But where can I find this cache that google is pulling this stuff from and completely delete this?

Android :: Any "Auto - Update" / "Update All" Apps Out There To Applications?

Nov 23, 2009

I have been loving my Droid and am continuing to learn more about it that I like. There is a ton to be found. That being said, with nearly every app I add, I am adding more time needed to update the phone. If I let it go for a few days it takes a lot of time having to click 2-3 times per app to update. Is there anything out that will allow me to update all apps that have newer versions with a single or at least fewer number of keypresses? I looked through past threads and saw some older ones but nothing recent on this issue.

I'm going to try this by using PackageManager.installPackage(), but failed. The system said no one has the permission to install a package, even I had added "<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES" />" to the manifest.xml.

HTC EVO 4G :: Froyo Auto Closes Apps?

Jul 31, 2010

I mentioned this in another post that was unrelated but got no answers, sorry if someone mentioned it elsewhere but Ive looked through em pretty good.I noticed while changing settings and surfing, 3 times now, Ive had a lil window pop-up saying "12 apps closed". Im not rooted, using the RC, no ATK running or anything. Kinda curious if this could be part of whats causing battery issues? Yes its a long shot I know, but is anyone aware of this and/or is it possible to disable?

*Yes I seen Froyo was supposed to handle closing app differently, more so looking for a way to disable this, and if need be manually use an ATK type program as needed to get my battery life back to anything near what it was.

General :: All Apps Auto Updated

Jun 14, 2013

I never check allow auto updating any apps especially google ones because by default they have that setting prechecked.

My Xoom Tablet has been running the older verison of the youtube app since I got it because I really liked the interface and don't like the new version my GN has. So I was just changing a wall paper on my Xoom and all a sudden BAM it reboots and starts back up. a little strange but then I see my notifications going off. [xapp] successfully updated. I was like WHAT ..I check whats going on and I see Youtube at 90%.. you bastard all my apps updated and the check on all google apps has been applied to auto update.

I never heard of this happening so i did a quick search on the Google and i only saw this thread.Google Play Store just auto updated all my apps on its own WTF - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

now i got to search for a old apk of the older youtube. or see if a factory reset will give me the old version back.
