I read a thread in Android Forum and could not come any concrete solution on how to use enable Adhoc mode in Android.I used to use WPA_Supplicant conf file in Linux to enable Adhoc mode.
I would like know if I can enable Wi-Fi Adhoc mode in Android from my application and how to do the same.
Android :: Blocking On Socket Read Operation While In Sleep Mode
Dec 28, 2009I have code that runs in the background and holds a connected Socket and it's InputStream.It calls read() infinitely until something is received, then continues to parse.Socket timeout is 0 of course.I am interested in what would happen when the device goes to sleep?Is the CPU off? Will this socket be responsive in this case?

Jun 7, 2010Im still trying to get a good feel for what i am doing before i go and root my phone and flash a custom rom. my last real question is i see so many different custom roms people are using. where can i find all these to put on my phone. also i am on 2.1 do i have to use a 2.something custom rom or can i use any custom rom. im at about an 95% user ability as far as using my phone and computer. i have never hacked/ flashed/ altered anything like a phone or computer or video game system. i have always just used as is. i wanna try this becuase i have read i can go back and go stock on this if i cant do it or dont like the results.

Step 2, Touch it and it should go full screen pic below
Step 3, Touch menu button and this screen below appears
Step 4, Hit the set as ringtone button and below screen appears
Step 5, select trim ringtone and below screen appears. When in this screen you can adjust ringtone from each end to where it begins and ends. There is a play button and a left and right arrow. The left and right arrow allow for second to second adjusting.

Oct 15, 2009I was wondering if the only way you can see things that you have saved to your SD card is by hooking the phone up to a computer. I have saved multiple things to the SD card and I can't seem to find a place on the phone to retrieve them. Any suggestions?

Jul 8, 2010For some reason my Hero got a mind of its own and is now stuck in car mode. Anytime I hit the home key I get the Navigator screen and anytime I answer a call it automatically has the speaker phone on. From my googling I have seen other phones that have had this problem but nothing on the Hero. I called CS and they said they had no idea how to turn it off and to take it into a store to have them look at it. I took it into the store and how did they fix it...they ordered me a new Hero. So apparently they couldn't fix it either. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and were able to fix it so maybe when someone else runs into it they don't have to go through all the fun I have had too.

Dec 20, 2009Is anyone having issues with HTC Sync and the phone not being able to find it on the computer? I've used it before, but today it doesn't want to find it on my computer. I uninstalled sync from the computer, and reinstalled it, even tried a hard reset on my phone, still no go.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Stuck In Safe Mode
Jul 3, 2010Im trying to root my htc hero with android 2.1 and ive done all the steps and im not getting the "superuser permissions" a[[ in my app tray ive updated my build number to 2.27.651.5 which it says to do before i root. ive downloaded sync, and all the files and when i use the command prompt it goes all the way to the "unrevoked" part and the app doesnt go into my tray, im thinking its because its in safe mode and i cant get it out of safe mode, i need to get out of safe mode regardless anyway
