HTC Incredible :: Workout Band Options?
Apr 26, 2010
So like many of you I use my phone for everything possible and take it everywhere I go. For me this includes the gym and I will need an armband for the Incredible once I get it. Are there any options yet? If so what and where? And yes I know many people think working out with a ~$600 device is crazy but that is why I pay for insurance. And I am a long time lurker so hello everyone 3 days.

Installed latest 2.2 version of OS ... it will not recognize my N band wifi signal. I did add the 5 ghz SSID and CORRECT WPA security password ... phone still does not recognize the N band. I tried rebooting .. tried re-entering N band data ... nothing ... tried rebooting nothing ..
Has anyone connected with their N band wifi radio/router? If so .. can you post the secret handshake?

The title basically says it. I am looking to use my incredible HTC Incredible as I run/workout and am looking for a good armband. Does anyone have any suggestions? I see some "Universal" ones out there but would prefer something that would fit the phone well.

I go to the gym a lot and I have a hard time with my Evo. How are you carrying your Evo at the gym when you workout. Any suggestions.

Today I woke up and found an app on the Android Market for my G1. Looked to be the perfect app for my workouts. It's called WorkItOut -- odd coincidence because that was the file name for my excel file tracking my workouts for a long time.Well, I tried WorkItOut and it ended up having this odd glitch that synchronizes workouts. Like I put together my Workout for Bicep Day and my Workout for Tricep Day and it kept overriding the exercises for one day with the ones from the other day. I entered the exercises for Bicep Day and they got copied to Tricep Day -- replacing the ones already there. So I tried to fix Tricep Day and all of those exercises got copied to Bicep Day, replacing the exisiting exercises.
I tried deleting a day and recreating it, no dice. Same problem, won't let those two days labeled "2" and "3" keep their individual lineups. So I uninstalled. I was looking at the comments section to see what other people thought and someone wrote "please support Gyminee". So I googled it.Gyminee is a workout/food/nutrition/social networking website. There's even a mobile version(for iPhone) that works on the G1. So I set up everything in Gyminee on my PC, then logged in with my G1 and ta-daa! Exactly what I want! And when I use the Steel browser instead of the Android Default Browser, it comes with a virtual keyboard to tide me over until Android releases that in the update planned for first quarter of 2009.
This is great. I've been using my old T-Mobile Wing, because my workout tracking has been done with an excel sheet. I've been waiting for an App, or a Google Docs Mobile Update, or something to support Excel editing on the G1, and now I don't have to! Thought I'd pass this along to all the workout folks here. http://www. gym inee. com/ http://www.gyminee.com/iphone/

I tripped walking down the street with my friends today beyond skinning and cutting up my arms and knee's and getting road rash the fall also took a nasty toll on my incredible. It cracked throughout the screen and it is slowly turning a greenish tint color around the cracks and throughout the screen. It is becoming completely unusable. I got my original droid incredible back in may and I just received a like new replacement a week ago. I do NOT have insurance. What are my options here? I have also invested over $170 into this phone through cases, extended battery and micro SD card.

I might be a little late on this but does adding another person during a call cost extra? I just found out by pressing menu during a phone call lol. Would I be charged for a 3-way or conference call for doing that?
BTW what does the flash thing do (The 1 that has a phone with arrows pointing in opposite directions)

Ok , so I'm running the SkyRaider 3.0 3.0 Vanilla RC3 Rom with the King#4 Kernal. I like it, but the battery is sucking. Anyway. I'm think I am going to rom back over to ShadowRom, which I enjoy and got decent batterylife, and the facebook pictures thing worked yesterday.
Anyhow. The question is about the keyboards. For whatever reason (my fingers/thumbs really like the keyboard and predictive text that comes with stock and in SkyRaider. How can I get that keyboard over to ShadowRom? Is there an apk or something?

I've done all of the backups involved with gaining root for the first time (titanium and clockwork i guess?)
What are my options for restoring?
I would love to try other roms or other things requiring a wipe, but id hate to re-download all apps and change all settings all over again.
For my first wipe, i ended up downloading each app one by one. Im assuming there is a more convenient way?
Can i also restore phone settings if i want to?

Just read an article on Locale and they said it is a must have. It allows you to automatically connect to WiFi while at home or work to supposedly save battery. It also can auto silent/vibrate your phone depending on where you are or who is calling. Among lots of other options. Now I am wondering if it actually saves battery or uses more because it is always running and changing stuff.

I have been trying to get an arm band for the vanilla galaxy S, mostly for jogging and I was wondering if any of you have tried any. I have been living in the Netherlands at the moment and it rains quite a bit in here. Since I don't mind jogging in the rain, I would also like an arm band that would be just as resilient and also keeps the phone in one place rather than having it it bouncing it my pocket. So if you can recommend something, I would really appreciate it. I have been looking at the one from belkin but I don't even know if it will fit this phone.

I must say LP is kinda cool, gives you a different feel of the phone. Right now i'm only using one screen, and 1 dock (not multiple dock screens), but i guess i'm just trying to find out if this is actually any different than the normal senseUI. I see there are limited icons, and we can either use the LP icons, or the default icons, but maybe there is an expansion pack for LP that i'm not understanding? Also, what are you guys using as a clock. With LP, i can only add the analog clock, or other wigdet clocks i've downloaded, but can't load 10 clocks that came with the phone. I'm assuming those are senseUI clocks, and will not work with LP. Should i download clock widgets that will work with LP? Also, since i'm only using 1 screen, and 1 dock, and i really not utilizing LP to the max here ? I should be using the dock more, and using it for more applications to quickly pull up right? Does anyone have any advice on how to customize it a little bit to make the experience more enjoyable, or make it worth the while ?Also, battery life? Any difference? Is it the same? I have ATK that i run every once in a while to kill some buggy apps/games, I noticed that LP is running and taking up a good amount of resources, has anyone reported a really bad battery due to LP being installed?

Is there a way to tell which frequency band(s) a droid is currently using? I want to buy one of the z boost repeaters and it would be nice to be able to save and get a single band model, but how can I tell? I would assume my droid could tell me what it's currently using..

I have never developed an app for a mobile platform, and it's been quite some time since I've used Java.
I have a Galaxy S2 (but this question applies to all Android handsets) and was wondering:
1. If the 2G receiver (which is around 900Mhz in Australia) can be hijacked to listen to analogue, non-GSM traffic. i.e. can I basically turn it into a radio?
2. If the bundled FM Radio app is restricted somehow to the normal radio band (88Mhz - 105Mhz or something in Australia). In other words, can it be used to listen to basically any frequency?
3. If I can listen to multiple frequencies at once?
I'm not developing a police radio scanner, but the requirements are roughly similar ..

I'm trying to change back the band mode settings to "automatic" or "europe"
Why? I messed around with minimalistic text to get a widget that toggles the data connection on and off. But ended up with a widget that opens the band mode settings. The settings show only one choice "USA band", therefore I ended up with no connection at all.
I tried *#*#4636#*#* to change the settings back but it won't work.
[update] You can start the bandmode selection like this:
-start the debugging mode
-start an adb shell
-type:
am start -n com.android.settings/.BandMode
In the list is only one entry "USA band" although 6 entries should be listed
"Automatic",
"EURO Band",
"USA Band",
"JAPAN Band",
"AUS Band",
"AUS2 Band"
Is it possible to change the setting back to "Automatic" via adb shell??
The setting to change the band mode is listed in minimalistic text under
com.android.settings.bandmode
The device is an unbranded Atrix with Froyo and not rooted yet.I don't want to reset!

I have an European Milestone on AT&T in the US. As AT&T uses a 3G band incompatible with it, I only have EDGE available. My question is, if I flash the North American version ROM, can I get it to work on a different band, or is that a hardware issue unfixable in software? I would like some references to back an answer.
