Ive got my phone rooted and have a goldcard but the only rom ive been able to find is an alpha version. Is there by some chance a stock HTC rom with sense?the unbranded desires already have 2.2 right?

I have used Lambrospowers (XDA Forum) Rosie patch to enable drag n drop when in helicopter (leap) view. It works flawlessly on my rooted stock Froyo Desire. If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed 2.2 the ligit way, searched for updates and asked if I wanted to download 2.2 so I did. Now HTC Sense will not even start when I switch on the phone. The phone starts and then says "loading..." and while it's loading it shows that lovely application error, normally you just click "force close" but application that's breaking is actually HTC Sense and the "force close" button is grayed out, then the phone restarts with the white screen and green HTC logo and then gets to the "loading..." part and then HTC Sense breaks again and the phone is stuck in an infinite loop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I finally decided to root my phone and flash an android 2.2 'with Sense' ROM. I followed this guide: How To: Install Froyo On An HTC Desire | I Can Has Pi?
I used the 2.2 Sense ROM recommended by the guide. Everything was going really well, but once the proses was over I saw some things that instantly made me wish I had never bothered rooting:
-I have a VERY low internal memory; no room for half my backed-up apps, no room for SMS, no room to take a low resolution photo(let alone 720p video!), and not even room to browse my photos or music(I know-weird...)!
-Some apps (like the HTC MOD keyboard with voice input) simply don't work.
-Slow boot and load HTC Sense.
-Programs force-close very often, as dose HTC Sense.
There are some good things in this ROM (like a slight increase in performance) but really, the bad outweighs the good- especially with the low storage, considering that the main reason I rooted was to get more space for apps!
I don't know what to do now. Is there a solution within the ROM I'm using at the moment? Or did I just use a crappy ROM. Which can you recommend (Froyo w/Sense)? Unrooting seems quite easy, or is that dumb now that I've gone through the trouble of rooting? I can't be without receiving SMS for much longer!
I'm looking for a ROM to install which has the Froyo launcher (I prefer the icons) which has all of the Sense Widgets? Im not sure if any exist?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs it says above really. I've rooted to the new Froyo with sense release (seems slow but stable) and all was well until I restored with mybackup pro. Some apps were missing even though they showed as installed and even so, I've got A LOT less internal memory than before and I'm still having to uninstall stuff
I thought Froyo was supposed to let you install apps to SD?
Just did the OTA froyo update from O2 last night. All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck.But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for com.htc.launcher. Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine.But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.

However, I never made a backup for Nandroid, and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to reinstall HTC Sense UI.
I've uploaded a pre-rooted version of HTC's latest ROM. This is basically stock with root, except I've disabled the annoying boot sound.It includes radio 5.09.05.30_2.To install you must be rooted with custom recovery. A full wipe shouldn't be necessary if you're currently on an official rom, since this isn't modified from stock. Do a nandroid backup before you install.There's no changelog from 2.09.405.8, but I've noticed my GPS problems went away.

I'm not interested in any custom rom's, I like stock one. The only thing I rooted at first is to install my app's on SD instead of internal memory. My device specs are:

how to go back to stock so they can get the official froyo rom. Why exactly?
- you may never be able to root again
- stock froyo apps2sd is very bad comparedto rooted a2sd+
- rooted roms based on the stock froyo rom will be faster and more stable than stock
I am looking for a stock google rom (With No Super User) for my htc desire phone. Anyone know where I can find one? All the roms I am finding are modded. I'm just looking for something that can be updated OTA by Google.

He's called 'em up to upgrade, got a mint deal but now has to wait to receive a text to tell him that they are in stock (Like that is ever going to arrive He's been told that they receive them on an add hoc basis, sometimes 10, sometimes 700. Sounds a bit slack if you ask me. Does anyone think that there is a connection between a delayed Froyo release and low stock? Don't forget that they were blaming stock shortages on the success of the Galaxy S because it slowed down the production of the HTC as Samsung apparently manufacture the screens for both. wish I could treat my customers like this

I have froyo running but I have had to change keyboard back to stock. I had the keyboard with the mike key on 2.1 but this kb does not seem to function on froyo. How do I now speak texts and emails a function I loved before.

Is it also possible to do this and receive OTA updates from HTC, or if I go down the path of rooting and roms will i have to manually install any update when it happens. I would love to be able to get the phone as stock as possible and be able to never have to reinstall or manually update/flash/root etc. again.

Does this mean I can't use launcher pro on sense froyo? If not, does someone know of a stable ROM they're using that does allow this? I just rooted my phone today for the first time, and am getting the Froyo itch.
