Is it possible to change the video resolution when recording on 4.4? I'm using a Moto X if that matters. I'd like to email a video but no matter how I trim the file its too large.

Have you ever tryied to make a video when you're at a concert? (I'm not speaking about a classical concert!)
I did and the result was horrible for the sound part. Is there a trick when I want a good quality audio? just keeping the Phone in the air is not enough
I did not see any other open threads on this; there is a very simple system edit you can perform to record video @ 8 mbps, up from the default 3 mbps. This is from a reliable source. Works very well. Root access is required and, of course, be sure to backup everything before you try anything.
The Droid compresses recorded videos (which results in blurriness and some blocking), so today I started poking around the system files and found this line in build.prop:

ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=3000000
Which basically means video is compressed at a fixed rate of 3Mbps. I didn't think it would work, but I went ahead and changed the value to 8Mbps:

ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=8000000
Rebooted and shot a test video. Lo and behold, the video is now recorded at 8mbps, resulting in a MUCH crisper image!
To apply the fix, you need root access. Simply edit that line in your /system/build.prop file. You can pull the file from adb, edit it, and push it back, or mount the /system partition as read-write and edit the file with Astro.
Edit: For the more adventurous users, here's another tip: I've been tinkering with the rest of the video settings in build.prop and comparing the resulting videos. So far, the best setting I have found is actually using MPEG-4 SP instead of H.264, 8 Mbps bitrate, and 30 frames per second. The phone chokes at 30 fps in H.264 mode, but does a pretty good job with MPEG-4 SP, and at that bitrate, the image quality is still very good regardless of the codec. The pertinent settings are "ro.media.enc.hprof.codec.vid" for the codec ("h264" for H.264 and "m4v" for MPEG-4 SP) and "ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.fps" (you can choose anything from 1 to 30)
the nexus 5 sub forums. how in earth you can set the focus of turn it to auto when recording. Most of my videos have a very Lo fi drunken feel to them!

Such an awesome camera and camcorder but it sounds like I am speaking through a damn kazoo. I am dying to know if it's firmware or just cheap hardware, not to sound bitter but the iphone has a SUPER high quality mic being that Incredible just came out I was very surprised at the low quality of the audio recording
View 12 Replies View RelatedFirst, make sure your SDK Tools are up to date. Otherwise, this won't work.Plug in your phone, then open up a command line. You initiate the recording with a simple adb instruction, but it actually saves on the phone.
The basic command you need is this:
Code: adb shell screenrecord /sdcard/yourfilename.mp4 You can name it whatever you want (within the usual limitations), and save it wherever you want on your device. (I'm lazy, so I've just been saving to /sdcard.)
When you're done, just copy the file to a computer or wherever.
Also note the arguments in the image above — particularly the one about bit rate. By default, it records at 4Mbps, which I've found to be inadequate, so I've been doubling that. So the command I've been using is: Code: adb shell screenrecord --bit-rate 8000000 /sdcard/yourfilename.mp4 (And, yes. The listing suggests setting the option in Mbps, but you actually have to do some math and use bps.
I have just noticed that my call recordings are just audio noise. I have been using Call Recorder PRO for Galaxy Recorder.

I can both record and play the sound but the quality stinks. Its not just bad is really hard to listen to and sound abit like its a computer generated voice. I use the andriod SDK-emulator. The code that sets up the recording looks like this;

I don't know what part that makes the audio file sound really bad or if its just the emulator that makes it bad and that it would work on a real phone.
I'm an amateur photographer and use Lightroom for editing. When I edit a photo it looks great on my computer and even when I view it from cloud storage on any android device. However the moment I download it the color drastically changes. If I send the picture to anyone else on android, ios, and pc the color is still changed and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. This happens on my nexus 7 2013 and my htc one.

Is the Evo supposed to be auto-focusing when its recording video? If I have just the viewfinder and no recording going on, it auto-focuses whatever I point it at, but when it comes to recording, its not auto-focusing at all. It just stays blurry.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDon't know if anyone knew this but if you download the LED Desire light from the app store, use the app first to leave the LED lights on and go to your video recorder. You can now record video in the dark and have somewhat clarity with the LED lights on. Granted it would probably be a big energy waster, but atleast you know have a choice.

Is there any way to pause the video recording function? I've looked all over the net and can't find an app or a reason why this feature seems to be missing from all Android phones.
This is HD recording and could potentially replace low end video units. Seems like it should be unnecessary to use an external video editor to get a vacation video in one piece.
From my understanding the Desire was originally supposed to have HD video recording, but this was ditched. Is it possible that a future firmware upgrade could allow HD recording, or the phone physically incapable of recording in HD?
