HTC Incredible :: VPN Connections On Rooted Inc - Quits Unexpectedly
Jun 17, 2010
After rooting my Incredible, I installed the only application that I needed from the root....VPN Connections 0.99
I am trying to connect to a Cisco ASA 5520, and as far as I know this is the only application that will allow group and shared secret.
As soon as you try to connect to a configured VPN server, I get the message:
Sorry! The application VPN Connections (process org.codeandroid.vpnc_frontend) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

This just popped up my on my twitter. Y5 Battery Saver Keeps Wi-Fi On Only Near Trusted Spot. When you connect to wifi, it'll remember the rough location (without GPS). Periodically it'll tap back into that location and if you are near it it'll flip on WiFi so you can connect. If you aren't near an area you've connected too before, it'll keep wifi off.

I followed the developer guides on the Android website. It is working fine for a Hello World application but when I try and transition between Activities, my application keeps giving an "The application () has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later." error and the application then quits. This happens when I click the button in the Subscribe Activity.
Subscribe.java
public class Subscribe extends Activity
implements OnClickListener {
/** Called when the activity is first created. */
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.subscribe);
Button subButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.subscribe);
subButton.setOnClickListener(this);}
public void onClick(View v) {
Intent subIntent = new Intent(Subscribe.this,Subscribed.class);
startActivity(subIntent);}}
Subscribed.java
public class Subscribed extends Activity {/** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.subscribed);}}

I rooted my phone recently and installed the leaked 2.2 update.I ran Unrevoked as well as Unrevoked Forever, so I have S-OFF on my phone.I want to now put the official 2.2 release on my phone, while of course keeping my root.It would be best to keep my data on there, but if I have to run a Titanium backup and restore once it's installed, that's okay too.I just need to know the process to do this and where to get the update.I am running the leaked 2.2 Froyo update from May and I have the 2.05.00.06.11 radio.

The other day I took a trip, put my X in the car dock, and set Nav to my destination. About an hour into my trip, Nav would intermittently close, and would return to the home screen. However, the app wasn't always completely FC'd, but running in the background, and could be returned to by dragging down the Notification bar and reselecting it. This continued for the last 2 hours of my trip and was extremely annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?

I know a few posts on this but since installing froyo 2.2. I cant get on the sky sports website at all just freezes on the google search and then I try and get on the bbc sport page which works fine but when I go on the live cricket text it crashes and quits the internet. I never had a problem with either before 2.2! I have tried on the default browser and also dolphin but neither work. Are there any settings I should change since installing 2.2 or is it just a case of 2.2 update screwing things up? My friend in the office at work is on orange with 2.2 and it works fine for him.

I have an app that is working fine in 1.6 and up but crashing for apparently no reason in 1.5. The app suddenly quits with the following message...
CODE:............
This error happens when the app is 'idling' (ie not doing anything other than redrawing the screen). There is no state change and no user input. The error occurs after the same amount of elapsed time whatever I set the frame rate of the app to and occurs both on the emulator and device. Changing what I display on screen can stop the error but there appears to be no logic to this (in one instance not drawing a large image stops the error but elsewhere just drawing some text causes the app to crash in the same manner).
I am using SurfaceView for animations following the basic procedure in the Lunar Lander sample app.

I'm trying to guess why a user would report "Force quits every time I load" the problem does not occur for all users, especially not me.The system constructs a database when it first loads. I suspect that user's phone does not have enough memory.Questions: How can I verify that the system has enough memory to store a small database?
What else might cause a user's particular system to force quit on startup?Wrong answers or things I've tried thus far:The user's hardware is probably different than mine The user's software and available memory is likely different as well The data is already loading in its own thread, with a progress dialog showing

I'm a VZW subscriber. I currently use a Storm 2 (HATE IT). I have been waiting... and waiting for the N1. I have a friend that works in the higher ups of VZW (not retail). I was just giving him shit the other day about the N1 situation. He said, "you should just get the Incredible it has slight better specs and the optical mouse.". I then told him my dislike for Sense UI. He said, "well then just root it".Would there be any difference between a rooted N1 and a rooted Incredible? Wouldn't they then have the exact same OS? (Provided I was going to flash it with Cyanogen). Thusly I would have the same phone with better specs, if I got the Inc over the N1. Is this flawed thinking? Since the N1 is Googles phone and gets updates first. When you root and flash with a diff ROM, do you then not get updates? I'm guessing you would be reliant on the updates to that ROM which ever MOD you choose.

I've rooted my Incredible with Unrevoked 3 and I have successfully used Unrevoked Forever to set S=OFF.now, I am trying to update to Froyo, but I am confused as crap.Can I use the official OTA update and do it manually? Or do I need a different ROM to update manually with.I've searched here and there everywhere and I haven't gotten a firm answer or I can't find anything at all.

rooted droid to 1 ghz with 2.1 etc vs N1 or Incredible. I could pick up 2 driods cheap ($40) or buy the next big thing @ $200 each. The N1 has many unresolved issues just search the help forums on Google. So to me HTC quality is still questionable, to me...

I have searched for this for a while now and have not found what I was looking for (if something like this even exists). Is there an SDK of some sort or a package program that would basically give a place on a server for a database and a membership system that is easily integrated into a android app I am developing? Something that would connect the users in my app like they do in instagram, or words with friends, or pretty much any other multiplayer game. (i am not looking for a facebook connect, or a twitter connect. just something that connects just my app together so to speak)

I recieved the ota update this morning and tried to install. while the phone did its thing with the power off i would get an exclamation point and with any button press would bring me into clockwork. I have no idea how to get the 2.2 update working and upon reboot of the phone i go to setting and check for software updates and am told it is up to date. If i go to the about phone section I am still running 2.1update1. Is it because my phone is rooted that I can not update? I do not care for root capabilities as my friend did it for me and wireless tether can be done natively. I have done a factory reset twice now but i can not get this froyo update to work.

I rooted my HTC Droid Incredible with and it ran fine afterwards. Then I changed a couple of the files in /system/framework and that apparently was a bad idea, 'cause now my phone won't boot. It just stops at a white screen that says "HTC Incredible". I'd made backups of my system and programs through ClockworkMod and TitaniumBackup, but unlike when I screw something up with my Droid X, I never get a clockworkmod recovery screen with the Incredible. I can get to HBOOT, but running recovery or factory reset gets me nothing but a black screen with white bars. After backing up my sd card via an adapter, I formatted the card and copied to it some stock image file I found on some forum and rebooted, but that didn't do anything. Not sure what information I need to provide. The Rom was stock. According to the HBOOT screen I've got HBOOT-0.92.0000, s-off, and RADIO-2.15.00.07.28. I still have the clockwork mod backup on my PC from when I backed up my SD Card.

I've written an application which involves a lot of simultaneous connections to different servers. I've noticed some big stability issues with this as sometimes the program crashes totally (not just ANR, but a segfault type thing). What's the recommended number of maximum simultaneous connections for speed and stability?

Several threads have indicated that the Droid supports OpenVPN connections, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to configure this. The only VPN option that even looks close is "Add L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN", but I can't figure out how to load the user and CA certificates...hell, I don't even know if this is the correct option for an OpenVPN connection.
