Just got my incredible and i want to sync up the mail client with my school account. My school used microsoft outlook. I guess what im asking is how do i do it? I dont understand where to find all the information that is needed

I just got the Droid Eris yesterday and I was setting up my gmail accounts. I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. I have tried to select my ASU gmail account for that app but it doesn't give me an option to show it. Is there any way to add that account to the mail viewer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

My school uses an email system that's based off of Gmail with my address being example@fiu.edu. The calendar is also the same. Here's a link of what the log-in looks like:

I find the Gmail app to be not a useful as I'm use to on the iPhone so until they update it are there any alternatives? Is there a better mail app that I sync with my Gmail account?

What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

View 4 Replies View RelatedNew Incredible user here; got it two days ago and haven't been able to put it down! I'm pleased with basically everything. My main issue right now is using HTC mail. I've synced it with Exchange so I get my gmail as it comes, but when I reply from either the gmail app or my PC, it doesn't appear in my HTC sent mail. I've refreshed and nothing happens. I prefer the HTC layout better than the gmail app and love that I get previews on the widget, but the gmail app works exactly as I need it to. How can I display/sync my sent mail on HTC mail when sending from my PC or gmail app?

I tried typing in my email and password when prompted by the mail icon on the home screen and it says it fails. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just left the BlackBerry world. Been an avid Gmail user and I own my own business. Emails sent to my business email is forwarded to my Gmail account. In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my Incredible on April 29th and setup my Exchange email account and was able to send and receive with no problems. Contacts and calendar synced with no problems. Everything was fine for about a week then I noticed I was no longer receiving emails. I could send with no problems and contacts and calendar still synced ok, I just could not get emails using wither WiFi or Verizon's network. I went into the account settings and activesync settings and see an error message that said "error occurred on the computer running the exchange server". Deleting and recreating the account on the Incredible seems to work, but for only about 7-10 days then right back in the same boat. I do not think the phone is the issue as I had a Droid and had the almost identical problem.
On the Droid I did not see the error message but I would stop receiving emails after about a week. I have tried Touchdown and it's almost the same issue, except that the error is something along the lines of "mail queued on the server". Again, removing and reinstalling the account in Touchdown resolves the issue for about another week. I called our corp help desk folks and it was a wasted phone call. All I got from them was we don't support mobile devices via activesync and wouldn't talk about it anymore, so I am leaning toward something on our mail server causing the issue. My only problem with that answer is that we also have other users here with iPhones and Windows mobile devices and they are not having any problems, and they are also connected via activesync.
Never had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.

Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.
I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I decided I much prefer HTC Mail's interface. For now, I'm going to stick with it. I was just wondering if turning off Gmail auto-sync will affect my use of HTC Mail (which as of now seems to get my emails right away).

He says that if i setup a Google Voice # (I have) and get sipgate (I have) and download Fring (I have) i can pair google voice with sipgate, and call my google voice # through Fring (with Sip) over Wifi while on the cruise to make free calls. Is this true? I really havent done anything with Sipgate except set it up in Fring. If so, what do i do in Sipgate to pair with Google Voice? Then how do i use it? Is there another way? My boss gave me the information to set it up on my phone but under protocol, I only see POP, APOP, and IMAP. He told me the "smtp mail server" so I'm guessing I'm kind of missing something. Do I need to use a different program to get my work emails? Did he not give me all the information I needed to set it up?
I am running the K-9 email client on my HTC Droid Incredible and have it set up to use my work Exchange server account.The app will auth and send email just fine, but it will not download new mail. When I go to Folders, it shows "Error 404 when" in the inbox folder.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was under whelmed with the email client which handles POP3 (hotmail, yahoo, verizon, etc.) accounts, and was looking for an "Outlook Mobile" type client, coming from my Moto Q. The stock client just seems to limited, aside from having some issues. Looking around, I came across the K9 Mail client and found that it was available in the Android Market. Its only been installed for a few minutes but in checking the settings/features, its much more robust than the stock client. Many more check intervals, options to set default number of messages, delete from server on delete option. The only caveat on install stated that it may have issues with Hotmail (i.e. Plus or paid accounts may have connection issues) but my basic free Hotmail came thru fine.
Text is much easier to read with the white background, black text and 2 line info display. You can also manage identities, and has more features I don't understand, and probably wont use. With my check interval at 3 hours, I sent a test message from my comcast account (not involved with DROID) just now and got some certificate error message from the program (has its own mail folder for errors), when I performed a manual check/sync. I just ran it again and the message came through. I think it may have been SMTP setting issues, but they seem resolved. Based on the the interface and options alone, I think I'll work with this app.
