I am trying to get my verizon yahoo mail account connected with my dinc, but I can't figure out how. I tried typing in my email and password when prompted by the mail icon on the home screen and it says it fails. I also had an issue with certiain links on the web not responding when clicked anyone have any ideas why?

As of 11/07, I began having problems with Yahoo Mail through IMAP setup on my DINC. I no longer receive any new messages. I've restarted the phone. Deleted the account and set it up again. Not sure what happened.
View 12 Replies View RelatedNot got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...
View 21 Replies View RelatedNever had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.

Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.
I've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.I've been using the built-in Mail app on my Hero for the last month with my Yahoo e-mail account (it's a Plus account, using the POP settings provided by Yahoo)...with zero issues. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't receiving new messages anymore. I've got the program set to update every hour, and even when manually clicking refresh, the phone would not download any new e-mail messages from my account (and wouldn't send either). There were no error messages though, it appeared to be synced up (the time would show up next to the sync symbol in the top left corner of the app.I knew my settings were correct, so I figured I would just try to delete the account and set it up again. I selected "delete account" and after giving confirmation, the message on the screen said that it was deleting the account but it never finished. The program wouldn't do anything, figured I'd try to force it to close with my task killer but Mail didn't even show up as running. Next step...shut the phone down and powered it back on. Opened Mail up and the account was no longer showing, however there is still some memory of it somewhere as when I attempt to set it up again it tells me that there is already an account with that e-mail address.I can get around that by setting up a new account and changing one character in my address until all the settings are entered in (and then go back and change it), but I'd like to find out if I can address this problem head on (without a hard reset).

Afterwards, I went to Remove account, but was met repeatedly with "Error Removing Account: An error has occurred. Please try again." I want to get rid of this Yahoo! I have a new HTC Desire Z running 2.2. It keeps saying it cannot contact my server when I try to set up my yahoo.ca email account. Is there something in 2.2 that doesn't like yahoo? I had a Samsung Vibrant, 2.1, for a couple of weeks and my yahoo account set up perfectly. Please keep in mind that I am a total rookie with these smart phones so be gentle, i.e. no acronyms, OK?

I have been using my old and faithful HTC touch for the past 3 years and just 2 days ago decided to get the HTC Desire. So far i am very pleased with it and getting through the initial adjustment phase very well. I will like to ask a few questions:
First, i have a few useful work documents on my old HTC touch that was opened with tomeraider, are there any free apps that can open them on the HTC desire?
Secondly, i have already added my gmail account to the HTC desire but i would like to also add my main yahoomail account too . This is my most frequently used email account and it contains a zillion emails that i would not want to synchronize to the phone each time . I guess they will just take up valuable space in the phone so is there a way of only allowing new email to enter my phone.
Finally, i have ordered a new 16gb card from ebay, when this comes, can i just directly copy the data from the current 4 gb card to the new card via my PC and everything works fine after that?
Is anyone else all of a sudden having problems with Yahoo mail not working and giving an authentication error when trying to re-add the account?
ETA: I just found that these settings work but I have to disable WiFi which is total BS
For Incoming Server Settings set the IMAP server to imap.mail.yahoo.com and the Port to 143
For Outgoing Server Settings set the SMTP Server to "smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com and the Port to 587
If anybody knows I was wondering if there is a way to setup a yahoo mail account for free on the droid eris. From what I've heard it costs extra to sync my eris with my yahoo account.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I remember getting this with handcent and default text program but easily shut that off. Can't seem to figure it out with mail. View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
So, Yahoo released its own mail and messenger apps today. I tried it out for about 5 minutes. It seems like a slimmer version of their Yahoo Go! that they used to have for Blackberry. So far, not impressed. But at least its a step in the right direction for them. They should just allow mail setup using IMAP or convert to exchange servers. That way Yahoo folks can have their calendars and contacts all synced up.

I have a gmail account which I never use, and my main Yahoo account. I set up the mail icon on the homescreen to take me to Yahoo mail, and it synchs to that account fine. However, when I try to compose an email, the only contacts it has are the 4 from my gmail account. When I send the email, though, it does come from my @yahoo.com address. Is there any way to get it to give me my contacts from Yahoo? I saw that there is a Yahoo app, but the reveiws looked pretty bad so I was hoping to just use the standard mail feature.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I have adjusted the Outgoing server settings from the standard Incredible settings for Yahoo IMAP to ones that are posted for the Motorola Droid, which is the same as (i believe) K-9 and my sent messages do not make it to Yahoo mail.Neither SMTP server setting within HTC mail syncs my sent mail. I am only looking for 1-way (device to server) sync. I don't expect 2-way sync.Both K-9 Mail and ROID mail are able to sync sent messages.

View 13 Replies View RelatedAfter receiving the official OTA 2.2 update, my yahoo mail doesn't work. I got the low space warning three days after the update, so I deleted the HTC Mail accounts to start over since it had gotten to over 100MB. It loaded my msn just fine, but said that it couldn't authenticate my yahoo. I thought my PW was wrong, so I used the laptop to get a new PW, and confirmed it by logging into it on the laptop and again at work on the desktop. I went to add the new yahoo mail account to the phone, and I'm still getting the authentication failure message. Can someone please help! Yes, I still use yahoo for less important mail/notifications.
