View 5 RepliesI decided I much prefer HTC Mail's interface. For now, I'm going to stick with it. I was just wondering if turning off Gmail auto-sync will affect my use of HTC Mail (which as of now seems to get my emails right away).
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, this is probably something relatively simple but I'm unsure how to do it (if its possible) How do I get my Gmail to come through my HTC Mail widget?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAt this point I have gmail and the regular Mail built in (fetching mail from a SMTP server) syncing fine, but they do that separately. Obviously, this means triggering the 3G connection twice, once for gmail and once for the Mail app, which in turn means wasted battery life.
Is there a solution? Is there an app that can trigger them both to sync at the same time?
I find the Gmail app to be not a useful as I'm use to on the iPhone so until they update it are there any alternatives? Is there a better mail app that I sync with my Gmail account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew Incredible user here; got it two days ago and haven't been able to put it down! I'm pleased with basically everything. My main issue right now is using HTC mail. I've synced it with Exchange so I get my gmail as it comes, but when I reply from either the gmail app or my PC, it doesn't appear in my HTC sent mail. I've refreshed and nothing happens. I prefer the HTC layout better than the gmail app and love that I get previews on the widget, but the gmail app works exactly as I need it to. How can I display/sync my sent mail on HTC mail when sending from my PC or gmail app?
View 5 Replies View Relatedim not an expert on how push email works, but my understanding is that gmail messages should appear on my phone without me having to refresh or manually sync the gmail app. for a reason unknown to me, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt. at night, i shut down wifi and the mobile network to conserve battery and start up the mobile network when i leave for work in the morning. i get notification of new yahoo email, thru the htc widget, almost instantaneously, yet gmail doesnt come thru until i manually sync the gmail app. then during the course of the day, sometimes gmail messages get pushed right thru and other times not at all until i manually sync the app. meanwhile my yahoo mail comes thru flawlessly.
considering gmail is supposed to push and the htc widget does not, this is the opposite of what i expect. as far as settings, i have auto sync enabled for both the device and for the gmail app. while i always assume user error until proven otherwise, in this instance i think i have all the correct settings, which makes sense considering sometimes gmail does get pushed. its just erratic and unpredictable. anybody got any ideas what's going on here?
You guys with a separate exchange work email and personal gmail account. Do you have to setup the exchange mail on HTCs mail app and gmail separate on the gmail app?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow can I link my Yahoo mail to show in my Gmail on my phone? On my computer, I can see they are linked.I have my Yahoo account listed in Gmail on my laptop when I look at it.I can see all the Yahoo messages imported in my Gmail on my laptop.I also have my local cable provider email (Cox) linked to my Gmail which also shows on my laptop and it imports on both my laptop AND my Inc.I have a seperate Yahoo Icon on my phone and I can get my Yahoo emails on that just fine but I want to have all my emails linked and dumped into my Gmail so I don't have to go into different icons to get my mail.I heard you can do this, even called Verizon and he assured me you could, then wasn't sure, then said he didn't know but to get in touch with Google for this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using only the stock Gmail client that comes on the phone. I have 2 emails running thru there under "accounts". My issue is that I have other people who access the accounts as well (from desktop computers), and I need to be notified when they send emails. So what I can't find is how to get notifications of sent mails from my own accounts.I had this on my blackberry curve, where I would be notified of that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get my DINC tomorrow. YAY! Anyway, I am trying to figure out a few things before I get started with the setup.
I know that I can use the gmail app with my gmail account. I am already going to sync the calendar and contacts.
If I choose to use the HTC Mail app for my gmail (setup as exchange), do I need to set gmail (when logged in on the web interface) as IMAP? I know to use the m.google.com as the exchange server.
Does anyone know if there's a way/app to set a notification for each e-mail (gmail)?
I'd really like to hear my notification sound, once, for each e-mail. Currently, I get a notification for the first e-mail, then no notification for subsequent e-mails until I check/clear the notification.
I'd also like to see each e-mail in the notification area (versus grouping all new e-mails in one notification), if possible, with a preview or something (similar to how my blackberry handled it). But I'd be content with just a sound.
how to set up Gmail through an exchange server so that you can get push email in the HTC Mail app. I obviously can't be 100% sure this works, but the folks over at XDA seem to think this is the solution for the Desire. The instructions are for a Windows Mobile Device, but all of the information you need to fill in inside the HTC Mail app should be available at the link. View 7 Replies View RelatedIs anybody having problems with the Gmail app today? For some reason mine stopped receiving mail. The latest one received was last night. Before today, it would get the mail before my computer did! I have cleared the cache and data, but it's still not working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use gmail for my personal email and I have this email account sent up with the Gmail program on this phone. My business email account is sent up through the regular email program on my phone. This way I can differentiate personal from business email on my home page. On thing I noticed is that I can't send mail to group contacts with Gmail program, but it seems to work okay with the regular email program. Is there a way to use group contacts with the Gmail program?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first setup my Incredible, I signed on to Gmail. Whenever I receive an e-mail, I get two, one Gmail and one HTC. I dragged the HTC mail widget to the recycle bin. Than I went to manage applications and forced stop the HTC mail. This works until I power off the phone. Each time I boot it back up, I need to go to applications and choose forced stop. It is a small pain but still a pain. One is this happening to anyone else and second does anyone have a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAm I losing it or is there no way to view my sent mail, trash, etc in the stock gmail app?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot add my gmail in my HTC mail application, but my gmail apps is already added. It always says authentication failed, even though I checked the imap setting as imap.gmail.com, ssl, 993.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI much prefer the Gmail mail app for the way it looks, and easier to delete mails and can use stars/labels.
How do I disable HTC google mail?
I am using Gmail. When I receive an e-mail, I get the same e-mail twice one in the HTC mail box and the other in the Google mail box. I have tried to delete the HTC mail but it will not allow me. If I go to manage applications and choose HTC mail, I can choose forced stop which temporarily stops the double e-mail. It will always revert back however to receving e-mails. Is there a way to permanently stop HTC mail or delete it permanently?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just left the BlackBerry world. Been an avid Gmail user and I own my own business. Emails sent to my business email is forwarded to my Gmail account. In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I go into my GMail account and add pictures, using the tool on the site. I check my phone, and some show up. Others don't. I wait a while... still no go. I go into the settings and force a sync. Still no love.
So, some pictures show up on the phone, and others do not. Should I wait a few hours or something? Is there some pictures that will work in GMail, but the phone rejects? I'm not all broken up over this, but it sure is inconvenient.
I'm currently trying to back up my contacts for when (if) we ever get root. And for some reason, even after I sync and all that fun stuff, the phone contacts don't update when I go to my GMail account. How in the world do I get them to update there?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got my Captivate the other day and I was wondering if there are any good e-mail apps for gmail, yahoo mail, and hotmail? I've tried each and the stock but either it won't let me add multiple accounts or it doesn't receive the emails even though there are new ones in my inbox when I check it.
