HTC Incredible :: Applications Keeps LED On - Bad For Phone?

Jun 19, 2010

I know there are now apps to keep the LEDs on so we can use it as a flashlight or whatever but does this kill the LEDs? I was thinking why else wouldn't HTC put this functionality into the phone? Maybe the LEDs are only meant to be on for short bursts like for the camera and keeping them on will burn it out.

HTC Incredible :: New Applications On Phone?

Nov 29, 2010

I've been thinking it's about time for a new set up on my incredible. I currently am currently running skyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla, Kings #3 kernel, and radio 2.05. Any suggestions to whats good out there? I here a lot of good things about MIUI, and CyogenMod. Also, I shouldn't have to update the radio right? Just do backups on nandroid and titanium, wipe, then flash the new ROM.

HTC Incredible :: Phone Keeps Shutting Off While Using Multiple Applications At Once?

Oct 14, 2010

My phone seems to shut off or start a reboot loop when I either multitask and use multiple apps at once or when I attempt to do something that is data intensive such as stream a video. It then either just boots up and once it gets to the home screen then reboots again or sometimes the phone will shut off, vibrate multiple times, then the green LED will start to blink. Once this happens the only way to get it turn on again is to pull the battery. I was using the stock 2.2 froyo with no issues until this randomly started to happen about a week ago. I thought it might be an issue with the rom so now I am currently running the 2.2 with the Uncommon 1.1 rom, baseband: 2.15.00.07.28, kernel: 2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1, build number 3.21.605.1 CL231334 release keys.

HTC Incredible :: Way To Force Particular Applications To Use Built In 8GB Of Phone Storage?

Jul 7, 2010

Is there a way to force particular applications to use the built in 8GB of phone storage? For example, doubletwist automatically syncs to the SD card, ROM Manager saves backups to the SD Card, etc.I find that I have used basically none of my internal memory because nothing recognizes its there in the first place. Is there a custom ROM that allows this? I know it is supposed to be a feature of Froyo, but it seems kind of silly that it doesn't already work or that there wouldn't be a root method to make it work.

Such as chrome to phone or the default browser in favor of dolphin browser.

HTC Incredible :: Switching Between Applications

May 17, 2010

Not sure if this has been posted yet, and I don't know if this is one of those "duh" functions that everyone but me knew about, but here's a (hopefully) helpful tidbit. If you hold down the home button, a folder pops up containing all active applications. You can very easily switch back and forth between open apps this way. I have been using this function to switch between my calorie counter and weight watchers diary since neither have all the functionality I need at the moment.

HTC Incredible :: 8 GIG Storage Not For Applications Only

Apr 15, 2010

I heard, over on the Nexus forum, that the internal 8 gig storage has nothing to do with installing apps, it's just more like a memory card you can't take out. You know just some app data and pics/vids and music not the app itself. I thought the 8 gig storage was for apps.

I want to back up my apps though, so I go into manage applications and pick an app, but the 'move to SD card' option is grayed out. Also, to hard reset all I have to do is from home screen touch menu-settings-privacy- factory data reset - reset phone. Or is there something I should do instead?

HTC Incredible :: Installed Updated Applications?

I just went to the market this morning to see if there were any updates in the downloads option, but didn't see any, which is odd since I haven't updated any apps in 2 days. So I checked appbrain, and at least two of the applications I have installed have been updated. There's either something wrong with the market, or my phone. Is anyone else having this issue?

HTC Incredible :: Installed Applications Not Recognized

Aug 19, 2010

Got several issues on my Dinc when I booted this morning. Here are all the symptoms I see:

1)None of my downloaded applications are recognized as installed-I only see the factory-installed apps in the app launcher
2)Settings->Accounts&Sync gets FC (com.htc.settings.accountsync)
3)Settings->Applications: While I do see all my downloaded apps in the list, the icons don't load for them, and when I click one, I get an FC on com.android.settings
4)Phone storage/SD Storage numbers look good
5)When I boot, the notification bar shows "Preparing phone storage", followed by "Preparing SD Storage" as it normally does, but the Sync icon only flashes for a second.

I'm running stock 2.1, no root...just a normal every day phone user. Was reading articles with the Time Magazine app prior to shutting down for the night. Had plenty of battery left, so I didn't even plug it in.

HTC Incredible :: Lot Of Applications Not Work With Internal Memory?

Jun 6, 2010

I know a lot of apps using microsd for storage. I am not talking about the app themself I know they are limited to the storage in ROM I am just talking about data the app reads/write. I was searching why my maps weren't working with the weather channel app and found this thread:
http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/71829-weather-channel-radar-not-working.html

Also tried to download and use Epicurus and it crashes every time (thinking it stores usage data on your MicroSD. I'm theorizing because I don't have a microsd card in my phone and maybe a lot of apps have trouble using the incredible internal 8GB of memory? Thinking on buying a 8GB MicroSD card just for this.

HTC Incredible :: Memory Leak / No Applications Running

May 3, 2010

When I first boot up the phone and check the memory (after shutting down all the apps I don't want running) I notice my phone has about 220-250 MB free after leaving the phone on for about 2-3 hours, with no activity on my part, that number gets smaller and smaller. I just rebooted my phone again because it was down to 125 MB free with no applications running.

Also, "Android System" is consuming 65% of my battery life. I realize that number is inaccurate after a fresh reboot so I played with the phone for a good 4 hours running apps and such, so that I could get a good test of how much the OS is eating up in comparison to other apps. 65% is a bit much no?
