This just happened twice in a row where the browser froze and the power button wasn't working. Is there some sort of ctrl alt dlt type of thing I can do if this happens again?

The power button no longer works to turn the phone display off when the phone display is on. It works when the phone display is off to turn the phone display on and it works when I press and hold it to display the phone options menu.

Send me pictures or anything of the sort showing how to do this? I really need to fix it, and I want to do it myself, but I don't want to turn my phone into a paperweight. "how to" guide on this issue and some reassurance that everything I take off can be put right back on if not broken.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my droid for about a week now and about two days ago the power button stopped working and is now completly unresponsive.I can't power off the phone without taking out the battery. Good thing that sliding the keyboard out wakes the screen so I can unlock it.I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem or is it possible this is just a defect and I should get a replacement also I have tried doing the factory reset to see if it was some app I may have installed causing the problem but its still not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter being a dedicated bb user, I recently switched to a droid. I'm completely satisfied, however, I have had a small issue with my lock/power button. I've only had the phone for two weeks, but my power/lock button seems to be "stuck". I can still push it, but it's not as "click able" as when I first purchased it. I wish I could explain it better. I actually went to verizon a few days ago, and they weren't much help. The tech actually sprayed some of that air in a can stuff, which temporarily made it better. However, it now seems stuck again. Has anyone had this problem? Sorry for being such a new b!

All was good until today when I woke up and the power button didn't work.It was intermittently working this afternoon, and now it does nothing.I was ready to unroot the phone so I could take it back to Verizon when I realized that I can't get into the bootloader screen without the power button.I tried holding the D-pad up while reinstalling the battery and I also tried the camera and volume down buttons while reinstalling the battery.The battery removal and reinstall just doesn't seem to be working to put it into the bootloader screen.

Screen shot function is not working on my mobile. Vol down and Power button combo is not working.
When I installed another application for this, the following error message was received.

my galaxy s2,it is rooted,and i have another problem : the phone restarts by itself and gets stucked in the boot loop, i never flashed a new rom ,it is running the stock rom,Someday i needed to factory reset the phone so i rebooted into recovery mode (power + home button +vol up) ,. I booted into recovery mode but the power button does NOT react as 'select' button although it works just fine for power on and off. I select a function and press [power] an the first line becomes the selected. pushing it again just flashed the screen. But pressing it long turns the phone off,and even after the factory reset from phone directly(with out going to recovery mode)

Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem I've noticed lately that is just killing my battery life. My Incredible never dims on its own. If I press the power button the screen will shut off but lets say I get a text and then I hit the power button, the screen comes on. I respond to the text and then hit home and put my phone down on the desk. The screen will stay on indefinitely. Not charging, completely unplugged the screen will just stay on. Has anyone run accross this and does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to time out again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would gladly pay money (and i'm sure a lot of eris -> incredible users would too) for an app/patch to give me the option to use an alternative key/button (menu/home button, or even vol rocker?) to wake up the phone when it's in sleep mode. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?

I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.
I have a droid incredible and got the OTA update last night. After the update I could not use my web browser. It will load the page almost to the end and then just go back to my home screen. Also the flash does not appear to be working anymore either I only see green arrows now. I Manually installed flash 10.1 a few weeks before the OTA update.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI did quite a bit of searching the web for a solution to my problem with the HTC Incredible. Surely I cannot be the only one with the problem? I answer a call, I'm holding it talking, and the screen turns on then turns off, turns on, then turns off, speaker phone on, I have to click it off, mute on, I have to press it off. etc, I know its just the heat from my cheek from talking, but it goes right through the lock button. What is the point of locking the phone if on a call so this stuff wont happen when your touch (my cheek in this case) just goes right through the lock. I have tried in vain to find an app that could fix this perhaps, but most are just for answering the call or dialing a call, or something to that effect. Any info on how to keep the phone locked when I press the lock button would be appreciated. I love the phone but I am using another phone to make calls because I cant use the Incredible to talk. I don't feel I should have to keep turning off the mute or speaker phone or locking the phone to turn the screen off every two or three seconds.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy search button on my Dinc randomly stopped working today. It lights up and when I press it, I do in fact receive the haptic feedback. It just doesn't do anything. Is there a setting somewhere I might have screwed up somehow? I haven't changed anything and I did try rebooting a few times.
