I have Google Voice that I setup online. Is there any reason to download the app from the market? Downloading from the market takes you through the same setup sequence as doing it online.

Running into an issue with one of our corporate HTC Incredibles.
We have other Incredibles without issue so I am thinking this one is defective as I just picked it up yesterday.
When I go to the market to update or install a new app, the download animation shows on the taskbar for a moment then goes away. When I go into the market to check on the downloads, the apps show a black status bar and will not download.
I've rebooted, hard-booted, canceled downloads and tried re-installing the apps. All with the same results. Every app I try to install and every app I try to update (google maps for example) will start then immediately say "Download Unsuccessful"
I have publish a app with this AndroidManifest.xml code...
and with publish option Copy Protection = ON(Helps prevent copying of this application from the device. Increases the amount of memory on the phone required to install the application.), Locations = all Locations but i found that some device can't find it in market , it including Acer liquid, sony ericsson x10 mini pro, and even a Sansung Galaxy S Any suggestion?
Market always tells me there's a handcent update. I think I may have shut my rooted 2.2 Incredible down during an update or something.
Now it is always showing "Downloading"
If I hit cancel download I get a Market FC. I uninstalled handcent, went to reinstall it, and the only button Ii have is still "Cancel Download" even though I uninstalled Handcent.
Where can I find the .apk files from the apps I've bought?

I successfully purchase the app, I got the e-mail that the purchase went through, then it hangs at "authorizing purchase". Specifically, I'm having this issue right now with Vignette.
I noticed today that the "downloads" section within Market no longer shows any of the free apps that I downloaded-only the two apps that I paid for are shown. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to bring this list back? A soft reset did not help.

Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
Is there any non-market/market, fully functional free emulators I can download for older systems. I'm a broke college student.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data
Have you ever picked up your wonderful device and heard it squeak? And even in normal handle I'm sure you've heard this happen. Well, if you look close enough it only happens on the right lower side when you press in.
On the left side there is a hinge that the cover connects into, while on the right side there is the microSD slot. This is where the plastic presses in as there is not a hinge keeping it tight.Fix ideas anyone? Any way to fill up the SD space?
I am only drawing off my knowledge of the Eris here, but we have a similar issue where certain kernels dont work or everyone. The issue for us is that the eris ships with 2 possible touchscreen drivers, depending on the driver a kernel may/may not work on your phone-the touchscreen may become unresponsive after flashing.
I want to see if this could be the same reason for you guys. Can you post what your touchscreen driver is and which kernels do/dont work for you? You can find your driver version under the fastboot menu under touchscreen. (Fastboot is Send + End for the Eris)

Here's something most of you probably haven't noticed about your incredible. If you take off the back cover and look to the right of the speakerphone, there's a little red rubber "plug"/cover that comes out, leaving a hole. Removing the plug messes up the acoustics of the speakerphone very much (and makes the phone shake like crazy when loud music is played). It's not important, but I was curious if anyone knew if there was a design reason for this / why you would ever want to remove it.

I deleted a new file app (Astro) thinking that might be the issue. I couple days ago it crashed when I was using the NY Times news widget. Anyway I'm running 2.2 and I love my DINC.
Can apps make the phone crash or can it be from something else.
I just rooted (via simpleroot) a couple days ago and everything was fine beside my gallery not loading pics and being unable to download anything from the market. I fixed (I think) the gallery issue by updating my PRL and profile but the market issue is still there. I've tried rebooting, deleting the cache from the market and download manager, and even wiping. Now I'm out of ideas. Did I screw up the rooting process or something?
