View 2 Repliesso I was jokin around with my friend at a bar and we started looking up naughty pictures with a free pron program that I found on the market. We were comparing the people in the bar to the people in the photos and we found some hilarious matches. Anyway, that was last Thursday. Now I see that the pictures that were pulled up on my phone are now easily viewable by merely trying to attach a picture to a text message or an email. Basically, if anyone looks at my phone and tries to see my pictures or something they will see these stupid pictures. The phone says these pictures are saved in the SD Card Cache. How can I clear this cache? I've unmounted the card, twice. No go. I've uninstalled the horrible program (it was free and you get what you pay for, I guess). I needs me some help! I've been perusing the interwebs looking for help and this forum seemed like the most active place right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything went fine, downloaded and installed in about a half hour. I was pleasantly surprised all of my contacts showed up, all my apps were still there just like I had it when I had 1.5. Oh, and texts and recent calls still being there was another plus. One thing doesn't seem to be working though. My albums are gone! Well, not really. They're still on the SD card with their respective pictures in them, in the albumthumbs folder. I can't see them on the phone, though. My question is this: Does anyone else have this problem? And has anyone fixed it? I tried unmounting the card and remounting, and they still didn't show up. Is there another directory they have to be in with 2.1?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI put in a 8GB class 6 card, copying all files over manually. Works fine except for the album application which shows the count (79) but not the images. Rebooted etc and still same.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUse Picture Viewer to read e-books and such... Well, try to. It seems it does show the files in order? By that, I mean alphabetically by filename. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think my evo is starting to lose itself. It's been doing some weird stuff lately. Not showing icons/images on website unless I deleted the cache/history/restart the phone. I also lost pinch to zoom until I restarted the phone. It has done the icon thing twice. A couple of minutes ago, it restarted itself. I'm concerned but so far it's not enough to justify a trip to the store. I would return it and get another one but the store would charge me $35.

View 4 Replies View Relatedtoday I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo on my DInc running Froyo I now have an extra link under my google account that lets me sync my Picasa web albums. I have no idea how this works though. I took pictures, but they didn't upload to Picasa. Can I set this up natively? I've been using Photobucket, but I'd prefer a Google service if it works better.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy gallery cache is close to 2gigs. Syncing from Picasa...
Any way to move it my SD Card? If I clear the cache, it just re-downloads and creates new ones.
Currently internal storage cache: SGH-I317MPhoneAndroiddatacom.sec.android.gallery3d
Did they seriously not include a way to "hide" folders that you don't want showing up in albums? For example, it just searched my SD card and came up with an "icons" folder that contains various program icons. Is there seriously no way to tell it not to appear in HTC album? On windows mobile we had to resort to registry edits to correct this, but I'm afraid we can't do that on android... Also, is there serious no subfolders? So I can't have something like: Photographs -> Family -> Pets
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a new Inc, she and I each have Google accounts. We have a ton of pictures under my picasa albums that I have shared with her so that she can view them. Anyone know of a way on the Inc to be able to easily view someone else private albums that have been shared with you?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got an app that is heavily based on remote images. They are usually displayed alongside some data in a ListView. A lot of these images are new, and a lot of the old ones will never be seen again.
I'm currently storing all of these images on the SD card in a custom cache directory (ala evancharlton's magnatune app).
I noticed that after about 10 days, the directory totals ~30MB. This is quite a bit more than I expected, and it leads me to believe that I need to come up with a good solution for cleaning out old files... and I just can't think of a great one. Maybe you can help. These are the ideas that I've had:
Delete old files. When the app starts, start a background thread, and delete all files older than X days. This seems to pose a problem, though, in that, if the user actively uses the app, this could make the device sluggish if there are hundreds of files to delete. After creating the files on the SD card, call new
File("/path/to/file").deleteOnExit(); This will cause all files to be deleted when the VM exits (I don't even know if this method works on Android). This is acceptable, because, even though the files need to be cached for the session, they don't need to be cached for the next session. It seems like this will also slow the device down if there are a lot of files to be deleted when the VM exits. Delete old files, up to a max number of files. Same as #1, but only delete N number of files at a time. I don't really like this idea, and if the user was very active, it may never be able to catch up and keep the cache directory clean.

HTC Explorer A310e
This will be my first smartphone so I am obviously new to the whole Android OS. I want this to replace my iPod Touch (not that I hate apple or anything I just want one device for everything) and was wondering how this process works on this phone exactly. I know that you can plug in your phone and manually make all of the folders for your albums and such but that seems like a lot of work.
View 19 Replies View RelatedIn cm roms, dalvik cache of system apps are generated in /cache but those data/apps are generated in /data. Is there any way to disable this behaviour? Cache partition in our phones is too small. In AOSP and AOKP and stock roms, dalvik cache is always generated in /data no matter whether its a system app. any way to achieve this in cm roms?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you went and wiped cache only, not data, and installed a new rom, would all data remain? What exactly is this cache that nandroid wipes?
I'd like to install a rom for a friend but dont want to completley wipe his phone. I just want to install the virtuous rom, which is basically the stock 2.2 update rom and would like to keep all his data on the phone. would just wiping the cache work? I know some people just install without wiping but would wiping cache help?
And I know a wipe is always better, thats what I do on my phone. But its not mine and would like to save his data.
Ok, now THIS is weird. Overnight, apparently my SD Card died. Android could not mount it and when I put it in my card reader and looked at it, it was EMPTY and showed only 30.2 mb capacity.
I tried formatting it and even writing a file to it. The 30.2 mb worked like a charm.
So I don't get it. Either it's broken or it's not. How can all but 30.2 mb of it be broken?
Got my hands on HTC hero yesterday,I am facing a problem, when I connect my phone to pc,a removable drive appears in my pc but its showing that there is no disk inserted,I have tried to check sd card settings, but there is no option of mounting it but there is a option to unmount it.

some days ago when i connected my fone to pc most of the sd card folder are shown as shortcuts and when i double click on then windows shows a script error dialog box and the folder opens in a new window....
I can find the folders ok with file managers when i use them on my fone and also found that all those folders have a '.lnk' folder with the same folder name. so i deleted those .lnk files from m sd card using es file manager hoping that it'll fix the problm bt it got worse..
now i can't fin d those folders when connecting to pc.. not even as shortcuts...
