Got my hands on HTC hero yesterday,I am facing a problem,when I connect my phone to pc,a removable drive appears in my pc but its showing that there is no disk inserted,I have tried to check sd card settings,but there is no option of mounting it but there is a option to unmount it.

I just bought a Hero yesterday and had the Sprint store transfer my contacts from my AT&T sim card. Everything seemed to work fine except when he looked in the "people" icon, nothing was there. So after a few more tries I left. When I got home, I noticed that all my sim card contacts, including my Facebook contacts, were visible when I hit the "phone" icon. My question is, how do I get my contacts in the "people" icon? I want them on the first tab "all". I was able to get one of my contacts in the "favorites" tab but it takes too long to get there. I want to hit "people" and see all my contacts right away.
View 3 Replies View Relatedtoday I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, now THIS is weird. Overnight, apparently my SD Card died. Android could not mount it and when I put it in my card reader and looked at it, it was EMPTY and showed only 30.2 mb capacity.
I tried formatting it and even writing a file to it. The 30.2 mb worked like a charm.
So I don't get it. Either it's broken or it's not. How can all but 30.2 mb of it be broken?
I put in a 32GB sd card. I formatted it (FAT 32) and simply copied the files from my original that came with the phone. I had over 1500 music files, but while they are on the 32 GB card, only 100 are showing up in the music player. I deleted everything and recopied the original card

Anyone else have this happen to them? I'm trying to reformat it with disk utility in os x, but that is not working. keep ending up with 200MB.

some days ago when i connected my fone to pc most of the sd card folder are shown as shortcuts and when i double click on then windows shows a script error dialog box and the folder opens in a new window....
I can find the folders ok with file managers when i use them on my fone and also found that all those folders have a '.lnk' folder with the same folder name. so i deleted those .lnk files from m sd card using es file manager hoping that it'll fix the problm bt it got worse..
now i can't fin d those folders when connecting to pc.. not even as shortcuts...
I have installed my new 32gb card into my desire and transferred my music collection (about 20gb) across via my pc but when I try to play them not all are available. They appear to be on the card as when I check the contents of the card on the pc in explorer they are all there and if I check the folders using the phone again they are showing on the card.
But when I go to select a song to play from the stock player there are only 100 songs to choose from which is very strange as there should be over 2000 easily. Interestingly when I switched the phone off and back on again I had about 700 to choose from which is still not right. Do I need to do anything with the vcard before installing (for example I didn't format it)? For info I needed to set up a new folder called MP3 on the new card when I installed it and dragged them into this folder so presume that was correct?
I've recently bought a SanDisk 4GB SD Card, format it to NTFS, I was able to copy large files like my Need For Speed SD Data, .apk files. Then I've checked it in my phone if it is success. But for some reason, .apk files were not showing up on the list, all I see is the SD Data of my NFS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn all of the screen shots showing off Google Now, there is always an image of a card showing meeting with someone at a particular location, the time it takes to arrive at that location, and a map of the meeting location. I have not been able to figure out how to get Google now to do this.
Presumably, that is a function that arises from a Google Calendar appointment. I've created meeting appointments and used specific addresses for the meeting location, but when Google Now displays that appointment, it displays the name of the meeting and the address only - no travel time and no map. In contrast, for places that I visit regularly, Google Now does display a map and travel time to those locations. But those are not regular appointments.

In recovery mode i flashed a rom then after flashing rom i wiped data and wiped partition.
After rebooting the rom is stuck, so now i want to get back to stock but , i have not placed stock rom on internal sd card
and my recovery mode is showing internal sd card. so i am unable to copy stock rom into my internal sd card. As my phone is unable to connect to pc. I tried odin but it did not work.
Prior to installing the external card - the folders app showed /sd. Which I assumed was the internal one. Then I insert the external one, reboot the phone, and tehre is no additional directory in the folder view. Why is this? Secondly, its a 16GB card. Its reported as 14.58GB. The format option is greyed out. Is it automatically mounted at power on? Ideally I want to know where I install things to know that they are on the external card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is a problem with using double twist to sync music then the default player to play it, but i recently wiped all my phones music using double twist media sync program and then put some more music on... after this i went into the default music player and it was very lagy and showed songs that i had removed with double twist but when i went to play them it would play a random song that was on the phone... does anyone know how to get the media player on droid x to rescan your SD card so i can realize that some songs are gone now?

Just got a new HTC Hero and on my wi-fi screen is showing a number of networks local to me that i could connect to, but not my home w-fi arrggghh!
My wireless router is a Belkin N1 Vision that connects via my Virgin media ADSL cable provider.
I think the answer to this is "no" I've spent this mornign playing with a Hero and really like it. I was wondering if there was any way, fro a privacy point of view, of NOT displaying the SMS preview at the bottom of the screen when the screen is locked - happy to show caller details - just don't want the text itself.

But the contacts when added as a google contact only show up under "all contacts" in google and not on the phone itself.
At first, I worked around this by logging into google to manually switch the contacts to "my contacts" and it then showed up on the phone.
Now, I figured out that when adding the contact on the phone, I have to choose "null" as a group label for the contact to show up on the phone.
I have had a strange issue for the past couple days. Sometimes when I type on the keyboard, no text is entered into the text box, but I see the letters "pop up". I have tried to change orientation, and exit the app and no luck. The only thing that really works is to reset the phone. i have even tried to use Better Keyboard and it does it too.
