This will be my first smartphone so I am obviously new to the whole Android OS. I want this to replace my iPod Touch (not that I hate apple or anything I just want one device for everything) and was wondering how this process works on this phone exactly. I know that you can plug in your phone and manually make all of the folders for your albums and such but that seems like a lot of work.

Did they seriously not include a way to "hide" folders that you don't want showing up in albums? For example, it just searched my SD card and came up with an "icons" folder that contains various program icons. Is there seriously no way to tell it not to appear in HTC album? On windows mobile we had to resort to registry edits to correct this, but I'm afraid we can't do that on android... Also, is there serious no subfolders? So I can't have something like: Photographs -> Family -> Pets

I took pictures, but they didn't upload to Picasa. Can I set this up natively? I've been using Photobucket, but I'd prefer a Google service if it works better.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I need to do with my Incredible is so simple and I am really amazed that this phone's photo application is as bad as it is. I have about 100 photos. I need to put them into individual folders or albums (I just need a way to separate them). I have tried everything but it does not appear as though the Incredible has this capability. I did a search and found some instructions using Astro file manager however this did not work for me. Therefore, is there any decent apps out there that will allow me to create folders (or albums) and put pics into them? I also need to somehow backup the photos (probably directly off of the SD card onto my PC).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am already syncing the Picasa Web Album for my mail google account on my galaxy, but i have a secondary google acount which I sync emails from. When I go to Accounts and Sync, there is no option for me to sync my second google acount's Picassa Web Albums. Does anybody know how I can sync 2 Picasa Web Albums, both of which have been setup on different google accounts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't remember how I did it, but I was somehow able to upload all the photos that I've taken with the camera to Picasa. Now I have quite a few videos in there as well, but I do remember a message saying that videos are not supported by Picasa and that only the photos would be uploaded. I'm now trying to do the same thing, but whenever I choose the entire 'Camera' folder to upload to Picasa, the only 'Share' options are YouTube, Gmail, and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how I may have done that the first time, or a way to sync photos from the gallery to Picasa web albums?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried many programs and aps to sync music to my incredible. I have used doubletwist, mediamonkey, sailing media sync, itunes agent, itunes export, isyncr, and songbird. From my experience, mediamonkey works the best and gets the job done better than the rest. My problem though is that when I sync playlists to the sd card, the program transfers all of the songs, but the last 20 or so songs won't play on the phone. It's almost as if the transfer didn't finish. Is anybody else having this problem or know of a fix?

If a copy an album by one artist it works ok. I get the album name followed by a list of all the tracks which is what I want from the compelation.

I want to be able to pick the artist first and then be presented with a list of their albums rather than all their individual tracks. It makes much more sense to the way I choose the music I listen to. Is this possible?
Having probs with music on my t-mobile g2 (Hero) can save single mp3's to the sd card and it plays them, how do I get it to recognise albums and tracks within albums, it just seems as if it doesn't like them, tried creating a folder on the sd card with the album name, putting tracks inside this and cannot get it to work? Also want the player to show album art but having difficulty with that too - do I need to use WMP or something else and sync?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've read the constant threads where people say, just find the friend on facebook, hold press their icon and it will do whatever. doesnt work at all, the only thing happens is if i quick press i get the chooser to email them, or view their facebook profile. what im trying to do is manually sync a contact on my phone with a facebook contact. on my friends droid eris he can open up a phone contact, hit edit and actually has a field for him to type my facebook name in and it will sync. there anyway to do this? im tired of only having like 10 peoples profiles actually syncing with my phone contacts and another 100 not synced..
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of individual folders that I'd like to select, so I can add them to a playlist. Problem is, a lot of these folders contain Various Artist compilations, so I don't want to have to select each artist to program into a playlist.
If I could add the folders in question, that would be so much simpler.
So when I first got my sprint hero when I would go to the music it would open up in such a way that I could finger swipe to flip through albums. Somehow...I've done something so when I open up the music from the icon, it just shows me the current/last album and song I was on. I've clicked all the little icons on the bottom, and they show various top to bottom text menus...but nowhere I can find to get back to make it where the albums are seen in that distance where you finger swipe left/right to flip through them.

The shuffle features just mix up all the songs from all the albums, but I want to listen to a whole album at a time, just don't want to pick the order the albums come up in if that makes sense. Is there a way to do this with any music players?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I transfer mp3 files onto my Galaxy which is USB mounted I can see the various music albums in file explorer. However, when I open the standard music player only a few of the albums are recognised.
Instead the songs are just scattered under "Songs". I have tried with various music players from the Market but the result is the same. This happens even though the songs are tagged.
Is there any way to make Music Player recognise the various albums?
I used Salling Media Sync to transfer all my non-DRM music from itunes to my desire. Now, all the albums are in perfect order with the right ID3 info but some compilations, when viewed by album, fragment into an individual list of tracks rather than an album view. Most annoying when you just wanna play album.
Are there any progs out there that I can use to better organise my music library so when I view all music by albums I don't get a massive list of individual tracks?
I would like to have the same bookmark folder structure on my phone as on the computer. Chrome and stock will do this, but both insist on refreshing old tabs every time they are opened. Opera was great at this, but I can't install it at work. Dolphin proudly says it syncs with Chrome, but does nothing. All others just take all bookmarks out of the folders and throw them in a pile.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI couldn't hear the music play at max volume on my Incredible at work (noisy environment). Was disappointing coming from a raggedy BB Storm 1. But then I did something to it and the volume incresed... about 25% higher from the max setting that I had. I can now hear it while I am working. I tested this method on the Pandora. It worked every time.
Here is how:
1. Play music (from whatever app you use)
2. Hit the home key
3. Open Voice Search (Programs key if you don't have it on your home screen).
4. Done.
i have the motorola cliq. i want to make folders for pictures. like backgrounds or just randoms pics. i called tmobile. they were like try doing file manager or some stuff like that. cant figure out how to make folders. or save pictures to folders. or is it even possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using doubleTwist to sync & manage my music on my HTC EVO 4G (and Palm Pre) and I've had just about enough of its slow iTunes syncing, slow device syncing and overall clunkiness (yes, I'm a previous user of the iPod/iTunes and Zune/Zune Software systems). Though I love the doubleTwist player for Android I'm done with doubleTwist. And no I'm not interested in Salling Media Sync (especially since its not free).
If I manage things myself by manually syncing/copying music to my Android (i.e., artist/album/ folder structure under /sdcard/music/):
[1] Where do I place the playlists (in .m3u format)?: /sdcard/music/playlists OR /sdcard/music/playlist1.m3u, playlist2.m3u, etc.
[2] what Android players are compatible with this format/structure (i.e., that'll pick up the playlists just fine)?
I absolutely love my Evo. Best phone I have ever had. I was recently going on a road trip and wanted to put some more music on my SD card. I copied over several new mp3 albums in folders, then created new folders of the artist under the Music directory, then I moved the mp3 albums under these new artist folders. Since then I cannot play almost all of my music on the HTC Music application. I can however use file manager and go to these mp3 and play them individually (in the HTC Music App). Some of the new music actually doesn't even show up in the HTC Music players list of music. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps
1. Install different music player (called music player)
2. Go to settings, applications, manage applications, Music, clear data
3. Cut and pasting an ablum back into the root of Music, and trying to play it
None of these worked. How do I resync the music player to my new music media?
Any ideas would help. Thank you!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using android for a while now, and I actually can move smoothly througth the system. But now I want to update for the first time my firmware with a newer custom rom. And I have some doubts:
Usually all customs roms make you do the wipes. What what actually happens with that? I know what those directories have, but I guess the proccess only erases the apps and some configuration, right? Because I think some apps config are stored on the internal storage.
It is recommendable to make a backup of the folders to be wiped and then restore it? If it is, will the overall config be the same as before the rom change?

i just got a samsung captivate love the phone but am having a couple problems my daughter sent me some ringtones via bluetooth and the rt came in a folder from her samsung impression i moved the music into my music folder out of the bluetooth folder however the empty folders that the music came in are still there. i have attempted the long hold on them to delete them but after about 2 minutes nothing happens. does anyone know how to delete these empty folders?
