View 1 Replies View RelatedI am facing one problem in message view. Bacically what I need to do is in message view I want to mark any telephone number or web address in different color. Can anyone please tell me where exactly the text is been written in Message View? On clicking this items it should launch appropriate event. If anyone touches a telephone number it should launch the dialer or if it is a valid email address then it should launch the Compose message event and so on.
Another question is whether to display message is Android uses the WebView?
I have noticed when I go into my address book that phone numbers appear as (XXX) XXXXXXX. The number for text messages appear as (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Has anyone else seen the dash being left off for home / work / mobile numbers? Not a big deal.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from T-mobile to Verizon, and just picked up my nice shiny new HTC Incredible phone. It works great, with one exception.Whenever I get an incoming call, the phone just shows that I have an incoming call but doesn't show the caller's phone number, or the name if they are one of my contacst. It doesn't matter if the call is coming from a land line, a Verizon mobile phone, or whether or not they are on of my contacts, each time all it shows is incoming call, and nothing esle.I probably have some setting screwed up, but so far I can't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently bought the x10 and I am still getting used to it. One thing I have noticed is that when a caller not on my list is calling, I only see the number. When I plop my sim back into my old shitty LG VU, I can once again see the number and the name registered to it. Is this an x10 thing?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen recieving incoming calls message on screen when call is showing on device screen it shows system message : ["blacklisted incoming number"] {not exact message, but similiar...}. This is happened a couple of times so it is not a fluke. The calls work at first, but after this you cant recieve calls from that number. There is no setting or list to remove or edit the blacklist "feature".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the screen locked. I get a call and I can still answer it and see the number and contact without unlocking the screen. This might be the same for texts, not sure yet.
I did some Googling and there seems to be a setting that can change how much the screen lock blocks. I think I checked everywhere in the phone but don't see this option. It's a ZTE AWE phone with jelly bean.
There's aparently simple ways to bypass screen lock if a phone's lost, but I still want it fully locked.
Does anyone know how I can change something in the settings to remove the +1 in front of all of my incoming numbers?
Example: +1(555)555-5555
When someone leaves me a message and i press callback it calls that number and Verizon wont recognize that +1 extension in front of the area code.
I am trying to change the text message alert on my HTC legend. Currently when I receive a new message you can see the beginning of the text from the lock screen and I just want the simple alert / icon combo.Tried trawling thru settings and searching the forum but can't figure it out!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with using the number property of the notificationmanager.It works on the emulator and other phone I've used.However, it does not seem to display on my Droid Incredible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBrand new to droid programming, but would love to learn as much as possible, so I finally got my emulator working correctly, I even got a hello world button to work. I'm attempting to make this button display a random number, I've googled this and came up with this code:
Random generator = new Random();
int n = generator.nextInt(n);
I fixed the Random function by including some Random java utility. I'm assuming this code above goes in the .java file of the project, so my button code looks as follows (tested and works):
PopUpText.makeText(v.getContext(), "Hello World",
PopUpText.LENGTH_LONG).show();
I figured I could replace "Hello World" with n to display the number in the box, however the following error is stopping the compile:
The local variable n may not have been initialized
I want to display the number of images according to one number.That means if number is 1 i want to display only one imageview in grid,if number is 3 i want to display the 3 images in grid .But i take only one image that means depending on the number that image will be displayed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, im fairly new to android but i have managed to teach myself the basics, i am making an app where you press a button , and a new screen opens and it shows a randomly generated number, the only problem is i dont know how to generate and display the random number, i have been searching the web for ages and have only found little snippets of information , that dosent really make sense to me.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a painting/graphics Java application for a mobile phone (so memory is limited). The application state is essentially three 1000x500 bitmaps (i.e. layers of a painting). Loading three bitmaps takes about 2 or 3 seconds.
I'm trying to write an undo engine but I just cannot work out a good way to do it. The typical approaches are:
Use the command pattern: When you undo, you reload the state of the initial file and then playback all the commands processed so far except for the final one. Doing this naively though means waiting 2 or 3 seconds to load the initial state which is too slow. There isn't enough memory to store the initial state in memory either.
Use the memento pattern: When you undo, you replace the part of the current state that was changed with the old state. This means every action needs to save bitmaps of the old state to disk because there just isn't enough memory on a mobile device to store this in memory. As saving bitmaps takes time, how do I cope if the user decides to e.g. paint many brush strokes in quick succession? I cannot make them wait.
