So when I open a contac it has 2 number, the one from facebook and the one I already has. Also I dont want the email either, so basically just the picture.

Everytime i want to add a new contact it gives me the option to sync to my email. why is that? is there a way to bypass this?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Desire (updated to Froyo) and have been syncing my contacts with my Outlook 2010 (running Windows 7 Enterprise-32 bit). Everything seems to synchronize well but somehow the "email address-Display As" fields gets updated in outlook, which then doesnt allow me to send emails to those email addresses unless I manually go and update the display as field inside my outlook contacts. I have manually updated all the contacts once already hoping that it may not be due to HTC Sync but when I did the sync then immediately all my Outlook email ids got updated.
Now everytime I try and send an email I immediately get Undeliverable receipt from System Administrator stating the following:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: test Sent: 14-Sep-2010 17:41
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: abc@xyz.com on 14-Sep-2010 17:41
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.
I am a new droid user, coming from bberry tour. Want to love the X and it is slowly growing on me. I am using an activesync account with for my work email which syns calendar/contacts/email. For some reason every email address that i have ever sent an email to shows up as a contact.anyone else seen this or know how to resolve? all of my contacts are in there that i want but there are an additional 500+ "contacts" that are just email addresses that i have sent to through work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI logged out of Facebook through the Android App then logged in and all is well. I dont know why it had to come to that, it should do it automatically.I have even done battery pulls which should theoretically log me out, oh well, it works now.I have done some searching around and there was a problem with Facebook a couple weeks back, but I dont think this has anything to do with that. I added a new friend on Facebook on the 25th of July, I also added them manually into my People on my Inc. For whatever reason when I go to the Link part of the contact and go to the Facebook Link, it says to pick from my friends. He does not show up in my friends if I am browsing through the link area. I can go to facebook from the phone and from the computer and he is there. It is making me insane.Also the profile pics are not updating, and havent for many months. My wife's picture has not changed on my phone's end in 4 months, but on the actual Facebook site it has.

Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.

This if for the D-Inc btw, I emailed the wrong people a few times. for example i used JSmith@aol.com, instead of JSmith@yahoo.com, now whenever i try to email JSmith, i'm getting both AOL and YAHOO emails under recent history for email addresses. Is there a way to clear that ? it's getting very very annoying and i don't see a place to clear recent email history on the droid, anyone have any idea about that? Also, this is a 2 part question, how do we clear search history from google maps? These messeges are not listed under that contact but they are in the general list of messages received. When i try to save the post/message to my contact it creates a new phone number for that person. For example, when i get notified of a comment my Facebook contact puts up, it is listed as coming from 3266518 ...then 519 and so on instead of being tied to that person. When i try to save it to that person it saves it as an additional phone # for that person. I have notifications setup on Facebook and my contact linked to Facebook. Are these two different things?

My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever an unknown number texts me, my phone is adding random facebook contacts to those numbers. For example, Orange texted me and it came through as being from this guy who is a friend of a friend who i have on facebook. It adds his name and profile picture to the top of those texts though and it's really annoying. It also started doing it with a second person (totally unrelated to the first), this time for texts from my bank. What i have discovered is that on facebook they both have a line in their info which says 'Mobile Number: " but then no mobile number (shown in the picture below), so i presume they've both put a space there and for some reason my phone has taken this and linked them to these unknown numbers. I've deleted both "Facebook for HTC Sense" sync and "Facebook" sync (not desirable, because i like seeing peoples profile pics and birthdays in my phone contacts), but it still happens. I also tried unlinking the first person from all of the links it had made, but that didn't work either. I have a HTC Hero running 2.1.

I tried this, and now, opening my Phonebook shows all my facebook friends with their facebook profile pic, and number (if they have entered one on facebook). Sweet! Less work for me!
BUT - a lot of my facebook friends do not put their number on their profile, so I need to add the number for these Phonebook contacts. However, there seems to be no way of adding a phone number for them; and these people do not appear when I want to select a contact to send a text to? What is that all about? How do you add phone numbers to contacts that were synced in through facebook, so you can then select them when you want to call or text them?

Just wondering if there is an app or a procedure to get your facebook contacts to automatically sync with your phones contacts as well as your google contacts. For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Is there a way to do that?

I don't want all of my Facebook "friends" to show up in my contact list on my phone but I would like Facebook data to sync for my actual contacts in my Google contact list. View 3 Replies View RelatedI set up a family group in "people". When I send an MMS pic to the group it ends up sending it to all their email addresses instead of their mobile numbers. Everything looks right in their contact info and it seems like it should be defaulting to their mobile number when you add them within the "messaging" app.
It works fine when I add everyone manually since it asks me if I want to send to their mobile number or their email. I just want it to default to their mobile numbers if I am working within the messaging app. It's not a deal breaker but kinda annoying since we all send each other pics all the time and having a group set up to do it was actually really easy on my old Windows 6.1.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to un-sync the Facebook contacts. I would hate to think I have to go in an delete all 300+ of the unnecessary contacts associated with Facebook.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I sync my contacts to facebook, I then have the option to choose which name I want them displayed as. Either my GMAIL saved contact, or their Facebook name.
When i choose the FB name, after a few minutes or later that day, it eventually reverts back to the Gmail name. Some names end up permanently staying as the FB name, and some I have to consistently save as the FB name over the period of a few hours for it to stay put. This gets very frustrating, anyone experience similar issues?
Also, side note. On the keyboard, anyway to get back the standard Android Keyboard without losing Sense? I miss the Android OS smilies....
