HTC Incredible :: Way To Sync Contact Photos On Phone To Gmail Address Book?
May 18, 2010Does anybody know a program or app that i can sync my contact photos from my phone address book to my gmail or even outlook address book... with blackberry i could sync it to outlook then to gmail, but with the INC i have not found a solution.

Jul 30, 2010I am wondering if anyone has gotten their Motorola Android to share the phone address book with the JBL audio on a Toyota Tacoma.They pair up just fine.I go to the "phone book" nothing there.I go to add an entry "From Phone" it says "please start the transfer from the phone" which I dont see an option for.Someone suggested going to the Networks | Bluetooth then holding down the Car entry, and disabling then enabling the "Phone" entry Tried this, and it doesnt pair and doesnt work.Someone else suggested on the Droid, to export all contacts to a VCF file.Then get the Bluetooth file transfer, and when the car asks to transfer, enable the file transfer.The phone finds the car and starts the transfer but I guess the file format is not good as the car says "Failed".

Jan 6, 2010Just got the HTC Eris and transfered my contacts from my old BlackBerry to the new Eris. Everything's there, actually way more than I need (over 3970 contacts, many duplicates and such. I realize that there is the 'delete duplicates' function on Gmail's contacts page, but sync'ing of that many contacts to go back and edit the contacts that I would like to keep on the phone, has really slowed down the phone, eaten battery big-time and in 3-4 days only 501 contacts have come across. I really don't need that many and was only planning on having the people I call on a daily basis. So, I turned off the sync function on the phone and the phone is running a bit better, but having to scroll or search through that many contacts takes for ever to do.
I would like to find a sync conduit (that works with my PowerBook Mac running Tiger 10.4.11) that I could sync via USB my contacts off of this phone, edit the ones to keep, re-populate (replace) the contacts. At this point I would just turn on the phone sync function(with the fewer contacts) and let them populate Gmail. How is this possible? Many of the suggested downloads I have seen online haven't really stated that they work with my Mac OS. Is there a faster way to have the contacts sync'd up to gmail and maybe just edit everything up there on line?
General :: MotoX Address Book Won't Sync Over WiFi?
Apr 2, 2014I have the MotoX on AT&T. My phone's address book ("People") won't sync with AT&T's online address book over WiFi. When I turn my phone's WiFi connection off, I can sync my address book. When I turn my phone's WiFi connection on, I can't sync. I tried this several times.
I can sync over the mobile data connection, but not over WiFi?

If I fill out the address field on my phone, then it doesn't complete the relevant fields on the web site. The address fields on the web site are different to the phone and fields on the site are not supported by the phone's address book. It seems like the two are running different software and are slightly incompatible

Feb 8, 2014The last stock update to my Galaxy SII somewhat messed it up, it started running boiling hot, drining the battery without showing any CPU or anything. So today I installed the stable CyanogenMod (10.1.3) and so far it doesn't have this problem.Two important questions:
- how do I get my gmail address book inside the phone ? Under Settings/Accounts I only see CyanogenMod, and trying to add one gives me Corporate (Exchange), CyanogenMod (again) and Email.
- how do I get Swype ? It's not available from the Language&Input settings.
- how do I view the external SD card from the file manager ? It only shows the internal storage.

Nov 5, 2010I have a friend that texted me and his name, number, and facebook picture came up as expected. Later on when I went to call him, turns out he isn't in my "People" application. However, if I click the search button within the "People" app and look for his name he comes right up. If I open his contact info up, I can't add him to my contacts or anything like that. Do "Facebook Only" contact not show in the People app?

May 4, 2010I'm using Handcent (recent convert from BB) I have a few shortcuts setup for frequent persons I text but wondered the fastest way to compose a text for a random person in my address book. Here's what I've done:
1. press Handcent
2. press top left icon for new message
3. press + sign
4. scroll list for contact
5. press check mark
6. press check mark to select mobile phone
7. press ok
8. press menu
9. press "end select"
10. compose text.
so, that's nuts. The other way I've tried is:
1.press people shortcut
2. scroll list for contact
3. press contact
4. Look at the 3 entries for "send message" (my example contact) and try and remember which is the cell phone.
5. press send message.
6. compose text
So I guess the second way is better but I'd rather not have to figure which is the cell phone and rather than scrolling to find the name I'd rather type first letters of name.

Jul 13, 2010This is for people who use GPS a lot. Before I would create groups just for my texting, but Navigation works great too. Took a wine trip to Santa Barbara. Had a few places (hotel, boat cruise, wineries, Santa Barbara Mission, some restaurants, that taco stand Julia Child made famous, etc.), and just created a contact for each. No inputting on phone or using voice, it's already done.Had concert @ Hollywood Bowl. They have shuttle service at some offsite locations like the LA Zoo or in Studio City. I just create a group called Concerts, and copy and paste address from website.Meeting friend at bar never been to? Already have a Group called Bars. Just copy and paste address, and your done.I have groups for everything. Family, San Francisco, San Diego friends, Hotels, Bars, sporting venues, whatever. I cross link whenever I can, Just hit People and slide over to Groups. The whole goal for me is just to hit buttons, and not have to input anything when I'm on run. Use it like AppBrain. So much easier to manage everything from Google contacts page. Just copy and paste eveything.Best part is, can delete or add anytime.Also saves me battery since doing stuff on computer, and everything is synced automatically.

Sep 20, 2010I have 9 Favorites set up on my Incredible, 8 of them work perfectly (I have them fixed up so that when I choose the person, the entire address card comes up so I can choose to call, email, text or whatever), and the ninth (set up only to place a telephone call) used to work perfectly, now not so much.When I select the contact, I get a message that says "Call not sent, no valid number entered".I have looked at his address card, and all seems correct.I have not changed anything so really don't know what is going on.I thought maybe if I deleted this one contact and then re-added, it would fix it, but when I try to delete this one, the phone looks like it wants to delete the other 8 as well, and I really don't want to have to set this up again (actually, can't remember how I got them to show the whole address book entry).

Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location.Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.
HTC Desire :: Address Book Only Gives One Line Of Address
May 30, 2010Just getting used to my HTC Desire, after reading your forum I was comforted regarding battery life and it seems much better now than the first few days.
I see another post on this but no answer, the address book only gives one line of the address is then any way round this? Even my first pda a Psion 3 had the option of which fields to display etc. there seems very little option to format what is seen, not that I am unhappy about the rest but to have to edit to see all the address is barmy.
Another thing way back then that still is not found is search all fields of the contacts, i.e. to find a number of someone that rang on another phone.

Instead, the full gmail address (aka [a bunch of gibberish] @gmail.com). How do I change the name on the address book to use the old phone contact instead of the gmail contact name? I tried adding a nickname to the gmail contact under "edit contact" but all if did was change how the person's name shows up on gmail chat on my computer.
