Just wondering if there is an app or a procedure to get your facebook contacts to automatically sync with your phones contacts as well as your google contacts. For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Is there a way to do that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo in early May, I got the Android update thing for my Droid Eris. I started it, and it took forever. Ever since then, I can't link my Facebook account to my phone. I've seen a lot of similar situations but nothing exactly the same. I can't link any of my phone contacts to my Facebook contacts. I have the Facebook for HTC Sense and the Facebook app. I can log on and view my Facebook accout, etc but when I go to People my contacts don't have pictures. I've tried to go to menu > settings > account & sync and remove my Facebook for HTC Sense account and manually sync or whatever. Still didn't work. A "force close" message appears every time I try to sync, yet my Google accounts will sync. I've tried going to each contact and manually link them to their Facebook profile but nothing even loads, as in it will say I have no friends to choose from (whomp whomp). I finally gave in and installed that Sync My Pix app but I'm not satisfied. Mainly, because that app saves all the contacts pictures in my photo albums and it doesn't do their status updates, etc. Really, I just don't want an app to make my phone do something it's already suppose to do.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid there was a setting to only sync Facebook data for contacts who also were Google contacts. On the X, there doesn't seem to be that option anymore. I don't want all of my Facebook "friends" to show up in my contact list on my phone but I would like Facebook data to sync for my actual contacts in my Google contact list. View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter the update to Android 2.1 on my HTC Hero, like many other people, I had problems syncing my phone contacts to my facebook contacts. The process com.htc.bgp constantly force closed, and no linking could be made or is some cases only a part of the facebook contacts were synced. Different fixes has been suggested by users online but none of them worked. But after a lot of trying, a combination of these fixes finally solved the problem for me. Now all my facebook contacts are available to link to my phone contacts. Here's what I did and what you can try:
1. On your computer, go to Facebook Account Application settings. Remove applications Facebook for Android and HTC Sense. Log out of Facebook.
2. On your phone, remove any all Facebook programs or widgets you might have installed.
3. Go to Settings Accounts and delete your Facebook for HTC Sense account. The settings Background data should be checked and Auto-sync unchecked.
4. Go to Settings Applications Manage applications. Enter each of the following applications and click Clear data:
a. Calender
b. Calender Storage
c. com.htc.socialnetwork.accountmanager
d. com.htc.socialnetwork.provider
e. Facebook for HTC Snese
f. Gmail
g. Gmail Storage
h. My Uploads
i. PC Synchronization
5. Restart your phone.
6. Connect to the internet.
7. Start the Photos program
8. At the bottom there should be a facebook icon. Click it and log in to your facebook account.
9. Let all the contacts download.
10. Go to your contacts (People), and now your old Facebook connections should slowly start to appear, and you should be able to link the contacts to your facebook contacts. It might take a while but have patience!
Perhaps one or a few of these steps are not necessary, but at least its what worked for me and hopefully it will help some of you.
I CANNOT get my phone to sync to my facebook contacts. I got to the settings to get to accounts and sync. Then when I click on add account and choose facebook, it just goes back and won't add it. I am really frustrated. I got it to work before but then I had problems with my facebook and now I can't get it to work again. HELP please!

My idiotic sister logged out of my account without my permission, logged into hers and left it like that. Now my facebook account wont sync with my phone contacts again. Everytime i go to my contacts, tap on options and go to 'accounts' and select my facebook from the list of accounts i've added, the 'sync now' button works but when I click on it it says 'sync disabled'.
I went onto my FB app and looked for account sync options but I couldnt find any.
Does anybody know what system apk is responsible for syncing and updating contacts profile pictures and statuses from face book.I am 2.2 rooted, bloatware removed and I removed a couple others my self. But don't know what apk to re-install so my contacts automatically update. I used syncmypix but I am not a fan of it. I have downloaded both system apps zip files. I just don't know what I am looking for.

I plan on deleting those but don't want them to re-appear at a later date. Is there a way to turn off FB syncing after just the initial sync? View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to 2.1 OTA, my contacts had no problem syncing with Facebook (both manual and automatic). Here is what happens: I go to a contact, find the bar that says "Link to Facebook" or whatever it says, click it, then type in the name of the person to search Facebook friends, but no matter what I do it says that there are no matches. No one else has reported this problem, so I'm guessing it isn't a problem inherent to 2.1. Could you guys provide some input as to what I need to do to fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
I'm just about to take the plunge and move over to a Droid device and wanted to know if there is a process that I can move my contacts from my Windows Phone7.5 device over to a new Android phone. I'm looking at moving from an HTC Arrive up to a Note2. I know my contacts and such are on my Windows Skydrive and I also know that there is a Skydrive app for Android but I don't know if there's a way to allow it to sync over like it does on my WP.

I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. View 26 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I sync my contacts to facebook, I then have the option to choose which name I want them displayed as. Either my GMAIL saved contact, or their Facebook name.
When i choose the FB name, after a few minutes or later that day, it eventually reverts back to the Gmail name. Some names end up permanently staying as the FB name, and some I have to consistently save as the FB name over the period of a few hours for it to stay put. This gets very frustrating, anyone experience similar issues?
Also, side note. On the keyboard, anyway to get back the standard Android Keyboard without losing Sense? I miss the Android OS smilies....
