View 3 RepliesI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I got the 2.1 Android upgrade, the picture of my contacts linked to facebook users do not update automatically anymore; so if a friend changes his profile picture on facebook, the new picture is not shown in "People". This was not the case before.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour linking all my mates to their facebook profiles partly so I could have pictures associated with them. However, I accidentally removed my facebook account which reset them all. As it had synced with Google already, I just resynced the links back to my phone, no problems. However, now all the photos have disappeared and short of unlinking and relinking anyone (which will take a long time...), is there a quicker way to refresh their photos?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my Google contacts linked to their applicable Facebook contacts. I don't like that, when the names are different, it defaults to listing the contact under Facebook name. That means that it is no longer possible to search by Google contact name from within the phone application.
Anyone know if there is some way to override this?
For contacts that I have linked to their respective Facebook accounts, I had the phone import their Facebook default picture to use as their contact card photo.
However, once they change their default picture on Facebook, my phone never gets updated. It remains the initial picture that was imported, even if I go to the contact and tell it to update (which then gives me the option to use Birthday and Photo). The photo never gets updated though.
But... If I remove the Facebook link from that contact, and then link it again, their new Facebook picture shows up.
So my question... Is there any way this can be done automatically, without me having to do it this way? I'd like my contact photos to be updated automatically whenever they are changed (or at least have a set interval to check, like maybe once a day or so).
I have a contact that is linked to a Google and a Facebook contact. Both have photos. If I open the contact, press the link and then press the drop-down that overlays over their image at the top-left, I can change the contact to use the Google picture - which I prefer.but the picture ALWAYS reverts to the Facebook one after a while. Why is this?I should note that the Google picture is not THEIR google picture in GTalk - it's one I uploaded for them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anybody else People Widget that is linked to FaceBook contacts pictures not centered? I have 12 contacts and 8 of them are FB pics and 5 of them are showing there heads cutoff lol. Am I the only one experiencing this? Is anybody else friends pictures not centered or cuts them off?
I've contacted HTC and they told me to factory reset my phone
I accidentally linked 1 phone number with two facebook profiles. Is there anyway to remove either of these? I tried deleting the number and re-adding it, but both facebook profiles were still linked to the number.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBeen searching around for a while and found some posts with no replies on other forums for this annoying issue.I have my contacts linked manually with my Facebook friends list. Pictures are working and everything seems fine on that front. In the link screen I can hit the drop down to choose the contact name to display in the People widget, and I can choose between my phone contact name and the Facebook profile name. The problem is that if I choose the Facebook name (usually first and last, which I like, since in my phone I have some people in under nicknames, or just first name, etc.) it only temporarily remembers that change. Within a day or so I will open up People and the display name will be back to the original.
Example:
Contact in phone named John, linked to a facebook account called John Smith
In the Link screen I click the drop down for his name, and choose John Smith (which is labled as a facebook account) as the Contact Name The next day when I open People the contact is listed as simply John again.Anyone have any ideas?I don't want to go through my whole list retyping peoples names, especially when there is a feature that should make it a simple pick list.
I have a Motorola XT319 Android 2.3 I tried to save some space linking (LINK2SD) the contacts app and contact storage app. I first had to Move them to user app (as they were system apps) and then proceeded to link. All went well but when I tried to open the PHONE app y will NOT load. Nor the CONTACTS app. I tried to UNlink it and switch it back to system app but it wouldn't. I can't make any phone calls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do like that my phone will sync with facebook for the contacts in my phonebook. I like that I can get their pics, email, other phone numbers, etc. What I don't like is that my phonebook has 100 contacts from Facebook that I will never ever call. Is it possible to hide these 'crap' contacts from the phonebook while still being able to sync with my good contacts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I pull up the phone on my Incredible, it lists every contact in the world, including everyone from Facebook. I went into my sync settings and unsynced Facebook contacts, but they're still showing up in my phonebook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so you can link your friends facebook to a contact, and have their facebook picture as their contact picture. None of my friends contact picture has changed on my phone, even though a lot of them have changed their profile picture on facebook. Is there a way to refresh this somehow? FB is set to sync every few hours, and I've manually done it and no dice.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to link a few of my contacts with facebook so that I pull facebook info and get their profile pic. I know how to do this. However, I'd prefer to keep the name I already have for them on my phone. For example: Say I have "Jon" saved on my phone. His facebook profile name is Jon McJonjon. When I link the profiles, now his contact will read Jon McJonjon. I'd prefer to keep the name I previously had for him as his contact name. Any way to prioritize which profile you're linking is the main contact name that shows up under the contacts list?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow should i set contact picture for peoples that are NOT linked to with facebook so the contact picture will look GOOD? Because when i set some picture to contact on google contacts or from phone photo album, after a sync the picture of the contact looks UGLY!! It has some crap resolution, dunno why, but the facebook contact pictures are still in great quality. So how should i set the "not facebook" contact pictures so they will keep high resolution and will look good?
View 14 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded my Orange Hero to 2.1 and linked all my google contacts to the facebook ones.
However, it also appears to have imported details like phone and email address from facebook which for most people are completely out of date. ( I haven't update my facebook contact number in years =/ )
Now when I write a message, I'm presented with 2-3 copies of each contact with different phone numbers.
I'd like to keep the Birthday and profile pics that facebook imports, but not any of the contact details. Is there anyway of doing this?
I recently upgraded to the Motorola Droid 2. When I logged into all of my accounts the contacts came over and auto linked to Facebook...this is fine, but the Google contacts with phone numbers are being hidden by the Facebook contact info and not showing their phone number. Is there a fix for this? Do I have to sign out of my Facebook account to see phone numbers?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI lost a contact somehow and so created a new one with name only but no phone, email details. Then I linked the contact to that persons facebook profile, so now the contact diplays their details from facebook. Then I sync with gmail contacts and looking at their contact in gmail it shows some link metadata rather than the actuial phone numbers etc. This is the data:
<HTCData><Facebook>id:729501399/friendof:637902454</Facebook></HTCData>
Is there any way to have the phone copy the contact data it reads from facebook and store this in the phone in the person's contact record? This way it will track through to gmail contacts.
Just wondering if there is an app or a procedure to get your facebook contacts to automatically sync with your phones contacts as well as your google contacts. For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Is there a way to do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this came up in one of the topics, but I may have missed it.
For the past week, I noticed some of my contact priority number was defaulting to the number I least call. This morning, while trying to figure how to make priority changes, I noticed it was due to linking it to facebook.
I linked my wife's info with her facebook and the priority number (mobile) pushed it to her home number information she has on her facebook account. So instead of me just going to click on my wife's name or say a command to call wife, I have to scroll to find the number I want to call.
I there a fix for this to let us set the priorities?
I've done a search and couldn't find any definitive answer and couldn't figure it out on my own.Is there a way to select which name you want to display for linked contacts? For example, I have a contact with 4 linked profiles (phone, google, facebook, twitter); It is displaying the twitter name and I'd rather it display the actual name (from any of the other linked profiles). When i go to edit this contact, the first name and last name is what i want it to display, yet it still display the twitter name.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my People app set up to pull Google and Phone only. Facebook is not selected.
When you go into People and hit Search "magnify icon". That thing pops up everybody in Facebook.
Also, when you go to Phone, and start typing it pulls up Facebook contacts.
I don't mind the sync from Facebook to people I actually talk to that are in my phone. I just don't want to see every FB friend. Am I missing another setting?
Hey guys, quick question regarding facebook syncing with your phone contacts
I think this is a cool feature as long as it only syncs with the names in your contact list, but not adding all your facebook friends to your phone, but I was wondering,
Does syncing all these pictures and e-mail with contacts (say you have 2-300) use up a lot of storage space?? Would it be better to not sync them for the sake of storage?
Thanks
