Alright so I have the alias 2 currently and have about a year left on my 2 Year Contract. What is the deal with the contracts? I hear from some people that I could get the phone at the 2 year price and it would then extend my contract another 2 years from that date. Or is the 2 year contract with the phone, where I would NEED to cancel the contract in order to get the 2 year pricing on the droid incredible?

How is the vibration mode on the incredible? It is VERY poor on the Eris. I often miss calls and messages. I am coming from a BB curve and that thing will rattle your teeth when it vibrates.

Like to know if anyone has expereinced of call quality like dropped calls, audio breaking up and poor reception in general? I understand there is a "quere" on how many bars appear on the display, but frankly coming from a Blackberry Storm 2, I have never had any of these issues. The location is well within city limits and was never a problem with other models of phones. Any possible patches or fixes in the works?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I ordered an Incredible in-store last Sunday. And I just got a call from the other Verizon store today, saying they had a couple Incredibles already in stock. I tried to call the store, see when it'll be in, and they're saying 2 weeks ish, which is probably an underestimate. Needless to say, I want to get the phone that's in the other store now, and get rid of the old order. So then I asked if I could cancel it, and they said that they couldn't cancel it because it was "In Transit" or whatever the hell. They said that if I wanted to get my money back, I'd have to wait 'till I got the phone from FedEx, and then bring it in and return it. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was any way for me to cancel the order.

My biggest qualm beforehand was the size, but now that I hold it in my hands it's not so bad.I've never had an Android device but everyone tells me HTC Sense will blow me away. I need you all to convince me that the X will blow me away (if you do I'll swing by after work and cancel the DINC order and grab a Droid X). I'm not worried about specs and stuff, just user interface. What can I expect to get with the X?

I was really psyched to get the phone until I found out that the Motorola Xtreme (or shadow) is coming out in July (or so I have read).I really like the UI of the incredible, and believe the phone will fit my needs very well. I will primarily use the incredible for apps, pictures, and video. My only hang-up is that I dont really want to buy the incredible if it will be surpassed by the Moto X a few weeks after I get my incredible. Does this sound legitimate? Is the Moto X going to be that much better than the incredible?I dont love the way the Moto X looks (at least from the pictures I have seen), and I also do not really want a huge phone either. Verizon told me I can still cancel my order without a penalty, but Im not sure if I would be happier with the Moto X. What should I do?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
So the other day I went to download an app out of the market. The download finished, but it seems my phone decided to auto-reboot itself in the midst of the installation. After the reboot completes, I go back to the market, reselect the app, and it's hung at "Installing..." (And when I say "hung," the market is still fully functional except that one app). I'm given no option to cancel the installation. Killing the market app then trying to go back in has no effect - same deal. Hung on install. Another reboot didn't help.
Is there any way to delete the install package and make the market forget I even tried in the first place?
It's Angry Birds (wanted to see what all the fuss was about), but the install seems to have failed in a way that any app install could have failed.
I know it should be possible, but I am new to android / linux and got no idea of scripting and such. Anyone help?

I am currently an droid ERIS user on verizon but the EVO and sprint's cheaper price is finally making me go to sprint. However, when I watch/read more previews for Galaxy S, that screen just looks really nice. Only if the EVO had the same screen.... Besides the Sense UI vs Touchflow (?) argument, galaxy lacking flash for camera, is there any argument to get the EVO? They both have 1500mh battery but super amoled is supposed to be more energy efficient so I'm thinking that will last longer. I'm hoping some of you can give me insightful unbiased opinion of the two.

When my phone is on a white screen, like the Google search page, I can see a light brown circle in the middle on my screen. So I'm wondering if the battery is burning the screen. (Something similar to how the battery burns the back of the white iphones and leave a light burn mark.) But can the battery do that to the screen? I did apply a Zagg screen protector with solution, but the circle is to perfect for it to be from that. So, anyone else seeing this or has had this happen to their screen before?

I am currently the only Android user in my office of about 100 people. I am surrounded by BBs and iPhones. The BB users are okay, but the iPhone users can be extremely trying! (I am the in-house graphic designer, and I use WINDOWS! I am so sick of people looking at me aghast and saying "You don't use a Mac?" when they see my set-up. that's another story though)
I am fortunate enough to get to demo Android units from Rogers Wireless to write reviews on my blog, so in addition to my personal Magic, I get to bring in cool new Android phones to show off. (So far the X10 and Acer Liquid E).
One of my co-workers is looking to get a new phone, so I've been showing him Android. Of course, one of the nosy iPhoneys decided to butt in with "NO, you should get an iPhone! I love my iPhone, it's amazing!" (Yes the exclamation marks were there when he said it).
I replied that Android was just as good as iPhone. The co-worker who is looking for a new phone said "but iPhone is easier to use."
I asked why he thought that, and he replied (gesturing to the iPhone co-worker) "well, that's what they say."
The iPhoney just keeps ranting about how much he LOVES his iPhone. When I suggested he might like to try Android to see if he might like it, he declared "I already love my iPhone, why would I want to try anything else?"
It's so frustrating. It's not the iPhone I dislike, it's the hordes of brainwashed zombies who parrot the marketing of Mr. Jobs, and muddy the whole issue.
I want Android to do well, but it's such a struggle dealing with the Fanboy variable.
What is your opinion on the best available AOSP ROM as of the current releases?
Best combo of speed, OC ability, bugs.... etc.
There is a link around here that I read up on stating that Task Killers are not recommended.I was using one for a while and it seemed alright.Albeit, via the Task Killer I realized that all the proprietary software from carriers were trying to run, ie Moxier Mail etc.
I have since uninstalled my Task Killer, but know that there are these useless programs running does bother me somewhat.
There's nothing wrong with downloading the file of a paid app and installing it on your phone, right? Because I did that for a few.Also, what's everyone's opinion on Open Home vs. DxTop?

All of them told me $600!.I guess that $450 was a pipe dream... Did sound too good to be true. Especially when the Incredible is $529 off contract
