A day or two after updating to FROYO I randomly receive an error message that says " Sorry,The process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly.Please try again later." It asks me to force close also.It doesn't seem to affect anything but I'm wondering what this error means.Any insight?

Fortunately, my phone is not bricked. I unrooted it by using the one-click app, downloaded and tried to install froyo but received an unkind error message. The Update failed to Install. I'm assuming I need to flash the phone back to factory? How do I go about doing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs I was clearing my entire inbox, someone texted me at exact same time. Now that message is stuck and will not go away. It will start randomly streaming in my notification bar, and at the bottom of the unlock screen. When I click on the person's contact information, it always shows I have a new SMS message from them. If you attempt to click it to read it, it just says "loading" forever. Also, when I receive a text it will show that I have 2 new texts since that other one is stuck there and technically still "new" since I can't click it. This has been there for days. I tried restarting the phone, I tried taking the battery out, I tried some program called SMS cleaner.. that thing will NOT go away. I've received texts at the same time I was clearing them with 2.1 but I never had this problem until the upgrade to Froyo. Anyone know how to get rid of it or will I need to do a hard reset?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally got the guts to do root, and this is my problem.When I am trying to connect to my device i get this error message in the middle of the loop of the adb shell
* daemon not running. starting it now *
then the loop stops, or I should say hangs up there till I hit control c then hit yes. I tried and tried for a couple hours and cannot get this to work. I followed everything on the 10 min video, but still cannot get it to work. in my device manager it is installed under android devices (my htc) not sure what that is windows XP pro.Also in the recovery mode it goes to HTC storage device.What am I doing wrong?
I just updated to the Froyo via the OTA and now when I plug my Dinc in to be charged (while it is on), I get the following message:
"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer. Ignore or Eject."
I never had this message until the update.
I picked up my new incredible last week (Awesome!). It's been working great. However, within the last day, I've been getting an error message which reads "Connection Failed: This application requires network access. Enable mobile network or Wi-Fi to download data." I've gotten this message when initiating the browser, going into email, etc. Of course, I can't access anything via the web.
When I go to settings, mobile network is checked off, although it does say "turning on..."
Whenever I get a picture message it says download error. I am able to retrieve the picture but I have to open my message app and see who sent me a message. I am unable to access the message via the notification bar. I am using the stock messaging stop.

I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.
I have been getting a error message in my notification bar that says "mounted read only--the sd card has an unexpected problem. tap this to fix" well it usually get fixed when I tap the message but not today, the message keeps coming back, any ideas?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 9 Favorites set up on my Incredible, 8 of them work perfectly (I have them fixed up so that when I choose the person, the entire address card comes up so I can choose to call, email, text or whatever), and the ninth (set up only to place a telephone call) used to work perfectly, now not so much.When I select the contact, I get a message that says "Call not sent, no valid number entered".I have looked at his address card, and all seems correct.I have not changed anything so really don't know what is going on.I thought maybe if I deleted this one contact and then re-added, it would fix it, but when I try to delete this one, the phone looks like it wants to delete the other 8 as well, and I really don't want to have to set this up again (actually, can't remember how I got them to show the whole address book entry).

View 19 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
since I updated to 2.2 last night when I am on the phone I receive a text message and it plays my ringtone even while I'm on the phone. Before the update the notification would just pop out without any sound (which is fine and what I'd prefer). Has anyone noticed this, or is aware of a fix? All I can do at this point is make sure my phone is on vibrate before I'm on the phone. BTW the sound stops after I touch the notification like normal it's just annoying for it to play at all while on the phone.

I have updated to 2.2 and all seemed to be working fine but today I keep getting error messages saying Low on space - the phones storage is getting low and Not enough storage space for sms.Don't know why this is as I only have about 10 apps installed and have moved the ones I can to the SD card.Is anyone else having this problem?any ideas people?

Please check that the USB cable is connected properly between PC and your Android phone. Check the following: 1. The Android phone is connected to the USB cable. 2. The USB is connected to the PC. Which they clearly are the light is on the phone. I made sure it's connected threw the phone and the computer. I don't understand can someone help please so I can go back to 2.1 root isn't for me!

I am getting a window that keeps popping up on my screen over and over.It has to do with a email program. I use the default email program. I can't remember but I may have been downloaded a go email program that could be causing this. The following error is what I get and I can't figure out how to make it stop permanently..The following error is:.

So, I tried to go through the manage applications to remove email but I don't want to remove the default email program by accident and not be able to receive email. Do you all have any how to's to stop this from repeating.
Also I get a lot of notification indications on the top bar like advertising and stuff. Does the go programs cause that? Is there a way to deactivate the advertisement and still be able to use the program for what it does. These are the programs that modify your themes like keyboards, wallpaper, and o.s. software.

any insight? I would try to remove the email and start again, but the message pops up so quickly I cant even get to the setting icon.
Every day, at random times, I get an error message for com.smithmicro.DM. It forces closure. This happens several times every day. This problem began when I completed my Froyo OTA update. I don't notice any 'symptoms' following the message but still, I don't think this error should be occurring.
