HTC EVO 4G :: Loose Charging Port
Jul 19, 2010the charging port on the EVO has come loose. :-( It has a little more "play" more than normal. Downside is i have to hold it a certain way to maintain a charge. Times like this i hate. So my question is should i call sprint and cash in on my insurance? or try out the Pre / Wireless charging hack? Heck, Im not sure if i should even take apart my evo and see if I can fix it. How did it get this way? Well, having a car charger that has a Coiled cord will put some tension on it, especially if you are using it (Calls, Surfing, GPS). I have had my Evo since Launch with no issues at all, till now.

Jul 21, 2010When i plug the charging cord into my phone it is kind of loose.not tight at all.and sometimes i have to adjust it in order to get it to charge.should i take it in?i just got the phone the other day and it is amazing but this kind of bugs me.what would they do about it?i dont want to have to wait another month for another one that is refurbed correct?what would you guys do?

Aug 19, 2010I have an EVO on order with Amazon (early Oct delivery - ouch!), hoping to get one locally before then but at least I have a backup plan. I've been reading a lot about the charger port issues and the screen peeling/separation issues. Does anyone know if these manufacturing defects (assuming that's what they are) have been fixed or do new EVO's still run the risk of having these problems? I've had Verizon and AT&T before and it's always been relatively easy to get a new replacement device if the original had issues. It sounds like it's not as easy on Sprint so I'm a bit concerned...

Aug 19, 2010the last 2 days I've tried to charge my phone, it connects for about 2 seconds, then disconnects. i have to move the cable around, almost bending it downward, for it to register a charge. its starting to get really annoying because i have to make sure its charging for a little bit and sometimes have to prop it up so the cable is bent for it to charge before i can walk away. I just want to check on this forum before i take it to the sprint store or best buy where i got it.

Jul 16, 2010I have a feeling my my X10 USB port is somewhat broke. It won't charge whatsoever via the mains or via PC USB cable. I have had to purchase a plug travel charger with the 2 prongs in order to get it working. Would the software have played any part in disabling the USB port on the phone - which a software upgrade or flash would solve or would I be looking at a complete USB port replacement on the Xperia?

May 14, 2010Problem is that both charging port and battery and malfunctioning. My charger port has a mind of its own. Only certain chargers positioned in certain ways will charge it. I'm talking about brand new charge cords (no shorts in cord itself) that when plugged in will over work if I play with the port for awhile. Along with the problems actually getting the charging port to work, there is also problems with the battery. The battery has a terrible life using all of the battery conserving settings it drains like crazy. And along with that when I charge my phone with it off it will tell me fully charged many times but when I turn the device on I'm in the RED.

Nov 17, 2010I've had my Incredible for about a month now and lately Ive noticed when i click the track pad to take a picture, the back plate (battery cover) creaks and is very flimsy. I tried applying pressure to see if it just simply needed snapped into place, but i don't want to break anything important. I placed a piece of cardstock between the battery and the back plate as a "shim", but that didn't work either.
Its not a major problem but it gets annoying after awhile. Any Ideas?
HTC Incredible :: Possible Loose Camera Lens Cover Repair
May 31, 2010Like many other people, my camera lens cover pushed in slightly letting dust onto the lens. I didn't want to go to verizon, lose my phone for a month, and lose my data just for a tiny part so I'm taking matters into my own hands. This procedure is currently in progress and may or may not be successful. Cross your fingers for me!
1)Take off the back cover of your phone.
2)Using your fingernail, gently pry up the camera lens cover. It is only attached by a weak adhesive. When you're done, the phone looks like this with the camera lense exposed:
3)Now pop the glass lens cover and the foam piece behind it away from the red ring and scrape away the old glue that held these parts together. Sorry I don't have a picture of this.
4)Put a dab of gorilla glue on your finger and smear it on the red ring. Place the glass lens cover on the glue without smearing glue on the lens. Use the back of a regular Bic-type pen to apply pressure to hold the components together.Well, that I far as I am. At 11:00, I think the glue will be dry enough to continue and I will update my progress. At this point my biggest worry is glue smudges on the glass.

May 9, 2010usb plug when in port isn't tight, it "wobbles/wiggles". not sure when it started doing this or if it's always done it but I just never noticed.

Aug 6, 2010This morning I wanted to turn on my DINC, but it did nothing. I removed the battery, then restarted the DINC. Everything seemed to work fine. However, upon connecting it to my PC, I noticed that my USB port didn't work any longer (it was not recognized by the pc, nor did my phone get charged. I went to the VZW store, and they told me that my USB port was broken. Will get a new device on Monday. In the mean time I am out of juice.

May 10, 2010Here is a little trick I discovered recently. If you have a later model BMW with the USB port that you would either plug in the iPod connector or a USB stick, if you plug your Incredible in you will be able to charge that phone through the port, negating the need for a separate cigarette lighter charger. This may work on other cars with a USB port, but your mileage may vary.Additionally, you could set up your music folder and playlists directory on the Incredible's internal storage to use it for music playback. Unfortunately on my 2008 X5 with the "single button" iDrive, it only reads the internal storage memory, and not the SD card.
