I have a feeling my my X10 USB port is somewhat broke. It won't charge whatsoever via the mains or via PC USB cable. I have had to purchase a plug travel charger with the 2 prongs in order to get it working. Would the software have played any part in disabling the USB port on the phone - which a software upgrade or flash would solve or would I be looking at a complete USB port replacement on the Xperia?

My phone charging port is broken. I have been unable to charge the phone and connect it to the pc. Can anyone advise if it is possible to still get the update. I have taken the phone to a few places to see if the port can be fixed but no one is guranteeing they can fix the com port.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just started using my X2 as a music player and as expected that uses more battery than how I normally use the phone.I've plugged the phone into my laptop (with a genuine SE cable) and stopped everything I can in the task manager.The "backlight and power screen" says the phone is charging but the percentage is going down not up.The phone is just sitting there in standby with nothing running (as far as I know) - certainly no bluetooth or wireless.

View 13 Replies View Relatedthe small usb port cover separate from the phone. Mine did yesterday. It's held in place by a small plastic tab which has a barbed end which should keep it attached. I guess with all the charging that this phone requires this little cover gets moved and twisted alot. It will still go back in place but I'm afraid that at some point it will separate and I'll lose it. My old HTS had a much more rubbery cover that always stayed attached to the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy X10 doesn't like charging to 100%, whenever I leave it charging for long periods of time (ex. overnight) the battery will never be at 100%, it will stop at around 95%, then it will stop charging (the icon still shows charging but the battery life slowly goes down). The only way I can get it to 100% is if I unplug the charger for a few seconds, then plug it back in, then it will charge up full.

is it right that when we trust a name like ''sonyericsson'' they treat their customers like this? weeks without knowing what they would do?
Please correct that by constructing a fixation for the USB-port on boardside, caused by the leverage-forces when plugging in or unplugging the charging-cable, so that it cannot break at the solder spots so easily any more. I think one or two gills, pressing from above onto the USB-Port, constructed into the case, would be enough to solve the problem. So the leverage-forces wouldn´t take effekt to the solder-spots of the USB-Port, but to the (new constructed) gills and the case of the X10.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently encountered a problem with my Xperia X10, where I activated my MMS setting to receive MMS but in so doing, have apparently turned on the Internet access as well. In other words, everytime I turn on my setting to receive MMS, it appears my X10 automatically connects itself to the internet. If I turn off the internet connection, I end up not being able to receive my MMS messages .
My dilemma at this point is that when I received my last bill, it turns out that my phone regularly connects to the Internet on it's own (even in the middle of the night) and I got slapped with a large charge for Internet usage that I did not initiate. I was told that either I turn off the MMS Setting (to turn off the Internet) or I would forever be charged with internet access. Worse, I was told that whenever I need to access or receive my MMS messages, I would automatically be charged with connecting to the Internet aside from the regular charge of MMS.
I would like to know if what they told me is correct? It seems unfair that I will be charged 2 fees just to access only the MMS feature. Is there a way to be able to access only the MMS without accessing the Internet in the same breath?
Is there anyway to avoid the phone from charging when connected to USB port on pc?

Everything else works fine. All the 3 hard keys work. Touchscreen does not work even a little.
When I get calls, I cant attend. I cant even switch off as I have to tap the power off button shown in the screen.
Everytime I charge, I have to remove the cover and pull the battery.
Do know what to do. Having the phone for a month and I have this prob from start.
It leaves me red faced in front of all my friends as I have to pull battery everytime I charge. Very pathetic.
Alteast is there a way to attend calls without need to move the slider?
I try to shut down the phone to charge it but it keeps re-starting itself. I plug it in, power the phone down and it restarts. Same when I plug it in when it is already off. Is this normal?

I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.

I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?

Times like this i hate. So my question is should i call sprint and cash in on my insurance? or try out the Pre / Wireless charging hack? Heck, Im not sure if i should even take apart my evo and see if I can fix it. How did it get this way? Well, having a car charger that has a Coiled cord will put some tension on it, especially if you are using it (Calls, Surfing, GPS). I have had my Evo since Launch with no issues at all, till now.

I've been reading a lot about the charger port issues and the screen peeling/separation issues. Does anyone know if these manufacturing defects (assuming that's what they are) have been fixed or do new EVO's still run the risk of having these problems? I've had Verizon and AT&T before and it's always been relatively easy to get a new replacement device if the original had issues. It sounds like it's not as easy on Sprint so I'm a bit concerned...
View 5 Replies View Relatedthe last 2 days I've tried to charge my phone, it connects for about 2 seconds, then disconnects. i have to move the cable around, almost bending it downward, for it to register a charge. its starting to get really annoying because i have to make sure its charging for a little bit and sometimes have to prop it up so the cable is bent for it to charge before i can walk away. I just want to check on this forum before i take it to the sprint store or best buy where i got it.
