HTC Incredible :: Best Car Set Up - Charge Phone And Transmit Music Too?

May 8, 2010

I want to connect me Incredible to me stereo, and well, I only have a normal radio without an AUX input or anything of the sort. The only way I could actually do it is via FM transmitter. so my question is, what is the best set up for this? I want to charge the phone as well as transmit music from it. I have an iPod Touch and have had the same FM transmitter that supplied power to it as well as transmitted amazingly for the past 2 years. I basically want this phone to replace my iPod Touch.

HTC Incredible :: How To Charge Phone?

Jul 7, 2010

So, when you guys put your phone on the charger do you charge it for a long time like overnight or just for a few hours in the morning or during the day until the green light comes on? Also, when you are charging it do you just put it to sleep and have it charge that way, or do you do a full power off and charge it that way?

I should be getting mine tonight, and plan on plugging it in when i get it but just want to make sure it won't harm the battery to leave it plugged in overnight for longer than 8 hours.

HTC Incredible :: Phone Overheating / Does Not Charge?

May 30, 2010

I was using my DI as a GPS today, in a mount on the windshield, and had it plugged in the whole time. It was about 90 degrees outside and I had the AC blasting in my car as I drove along the highway.....I noticed after a while that the bolt in the battery display was missing, meaning it wasn't getting charged, and that at the same time the notification LED was alternating between orange and green. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't charging anymore, but after I changed the vent in my car from forward to indirect (there is a vent that shoots air upward right below the mount, coincidentally) it cooled down and started charging again.

HTC Incredible :: Charge Phone For Recommended 8 Hours Before Use?

Jun 8, 2010

My phone is set to arrive tomorrow, and all I want to know are two things:
1. Did you charge the phone for the 8 hours (or until full) before you used it, or did you get to playing with it right away?
2. What were your results, in terms of battery life? It seems like every phone manufacturer says to do this, but I'm wondering how much of a difference it actually makes.

HTC Incredible :: Battery Not Fully Charge Unless Plug & Unplug Phone Several Times

May 19, 2010

I called HTC and told them my battery will not fully charge unless I plug & unplug my phone several times. They said there wasn't a hot ticket about this issue and offered me a replacement battery. I suggest everyone call them and let them know this is problem. 8664498358 I refused the battery as I do not believe it is the issue. I told the rep that I just wanted to make the issue known. I suggested everyone call to let them know there are several people with this problem, not so you can try to get a free battery. I also called Verizon to order a spare battery, then I ordered a separate battery charger from fommy.com to deal with this issue until it is fixed. Shame on you to those who thought they could "steal" a battery from HTC.

I'm wondering if there's a way to transmit a sound, such as a WAV or OGG, during a call such that the person on the other end can hear it. (This sound should be heard in addition to, not in place of, the normal voice transmission.) Is there a possibility I may have overlooked?

I have implemented a routing protocol on an Android 1.6 mobile that uses wireless (ad-hoc) network in order to exchange messages. Now I would like to evaluate it under an energy consumption point of view, the base would be to try to calculate the energy wasted to transmit a single packet, do anybody has any idea how to do that? Software/hardware solutions are welcome! Thanx :)

Android :: Multipart Upload - Transmit The Image Directly From Memory

Oct 12, 2010

As part of my Android app, I'd like to upload bitmaps to be remotely stored. I have simple HTTP GET and POST communication working perfectly, but documentation on how to do a multipart POST seems to be as rare as unicorns.

Furthermore, I'd like to transmit the image directly from memory, instead of working with a file. In the example code below, I'm getting a byte array from a file to be used later on with HttpClient and MultipartEntity.

CODE:..............

This all seems fairly clear to me, except that I can't for the life of me find out where to get this ByteArrayPartSource. I have linked to the httpclient and httpmime JAR files, but no dice. I hear that the package structure changed drastically between HttpClient 3.x and 4.x.

Is anyone using this ByteArrayPartSource in Android, and how did they import it?

After digging around in the documentation and scouring the Internet, I came up with something that fit my needs. To make a multipart request such as a form POST, the following code did the trick for me:

CODE:.....

The HTTPMultipartMode.BROWSER_COMPATIBLE bit is very important.

HTC Incredible :: Connecting Phone To Computer And Getting Music Stuff

Apr 24, 2010

I have no idea where to go to get these (probably routine, simple) questions asked. Thanks for answers/links. I just purchased my phone and I'm really excited. And nervous, is that weird? 1. I have a MacBook Pro w/ my music on itunes, although I didn't buy any of it through them. Is there any issue with connecting my new phone to my computer and getting my music stuff on it? Is it easy or do I need to read about how to do it from somewhere? FWIW, easy to me = drag and drop, or have it automatically transfer.

1a. I am hoping to replace my ipod touch with this device. Realistic? Or silly dream?
2. What should I do to the phone when I first get it? Are there things Verizon includes that I should delete (like when you first buy a computer and it's preloaded w/ a ton of crap)? Are there things I need to immediately get?
2b. I assume those things I need to immediately get are apps. Can I browse them now w/out the phone or can I only do it from the phone? What are the "must haves"? Is there a website that lists the most popular/useful apps?
3. Is there a good tutorial for how to get the most out of Android? Or do I just monkey around and see what I like/dislike?
4. Should I root this thing? Not quire sure what that means, but it seems to be what the cool kids do.
4b. Other than paying for the teething thing from VZW, is rooting the only way to get that ability?
